This is one of the best places to see a concert in the United States. The people are always so friendly and the views of Alpine Valley will leave you awestruck. Dave Matthews Band shows here are so much fun. They are making improvements to modernize the facility, I can't wait for my next concert here.

Nice place to view many international acts. However, a lot of people were smoking around us and everywhere which nobody did anything about so taints the opinion of the place and experience. The sound quality was good and views were really good from lots of places in the venue due to the very steep slopping hill. The hill was great for views but not good for sitting as its at such an angle that you keep slipping down eventually.
Finally, the online policies for carry ins are out of date and people had folding chairs, umbrellas and their own drinks as well, not like stated on the website.
Overall, a good place to see some amazing talent, you will certainly remember the show but not the venue.

A group of nine of us bought tickets to a Jimmy Buffett concert but the venue over booked the concert and we were not able to see the concert. After standing in line at the gate for over an hour to get in there was no seating left in the lawn section. People were standing on the back of the hill where you couldn't even see or hear the concert. We spent a few thousand dollars on hotel tickets, concert tickets, RV rental and parking. And drove several hours to get there. When we went to the box office they refused to refund our tickets. Really unbelievable.

We were 2-3 rows in front & to the right of the sound deck. View of stage and sound was great!! For the price and location u can't go wrong. Took 30ish min to exit from parking lot. It was great!!

PLEASE NOTE: There is significant walking required at this venue. The lawn seats are on a slope. The slope has to be navigated to get to the seats in the covered area. We were a 5-10min walk from our car. I WOULD CALL AHEAD AND ASK ABOUT ACCESSABILITY OR ACCOMMODATIONS. I don't know what their policy is, so I would call ahead to find out if you need accomodations.

Venue is great, it brings back memories. They need to modernize; more than ever people rely on public taxis and Uber to get from place to place. Alpine valley's answer is to have us walk a mile up the road and get an Uber at some country intersection. It was a safety hazard to say in the least, and a huge liability, I assume.

I attend MANY concerts and Alpine is not among my favorite venues. I struggle to understand why the traffic and parking delays have gotten so bad. I have been there at least a dozen times and I have never had as long a delay as I had tonight for the Hootie concert and there were no weather issues that might have at least provided an excuse.

I used to love Alpine...I went there to see dead & company this year though, and didn't have the best experience. There is a type of internet blocking or something when you're trying to show the live Nation ticket bar code when getting in. I missed the whole first set because of this and so did many others. I asked different staff and even a sheriff for hello and nobody would or could help. I finally had to walk back to my car in the lot where there was tower internet, take a screen shot and all was well... After missing the whole first set. This was ridiculous. As soon as you're in there is WiFi, you would think after the big reopening this year they would have thought this through. Also, this year was the big Grand opening and articles mentioned a new improved Alpine. Yet it was exactly the same as two years ago. I'm sure with only two major concerns there this year, they couldn't afford an upgrade. Oh well...

Absolutely horrible. We left our tailgate before the show started and waited 45 minute so just to get into the venue, then another 30 to use the bathroom. Nobody was managing any lines so we were constantly being pushed and shoved. Seems like there was nobody managing crowd control as we weren t even able to get a seat on the lawn (which we paid for by the way) and the isles to the lawn were extremely crowded. This was such a terrible experience. I didn t even get to see ANY part of my first Jimmy Buffett concert and I m honestly heartbroken...thanks for nothing Alpine. If I was able to give you no stars I would. I m extremely disappointed.

All they do is music venues and they don't do it very well. We got to concert line about 7:10 and got into Buffett at 8:40 PM. Almost a riot in the lines. I was afraid. One lady had anxiety attack. Very scary situation. It was sold out at 34,000, well Wrigley has 37000 and they handle the crowds very well.

Alpine will always be my first love in terms of music venues, however, it can never get higher than a three star rating for many reasons. I'll save most opinions for myself but the grade on the lawn is miserable and above a certain level, the sound is pretty poor. Regardless, still a wonderful place to see a show, as long as you're closer on the lawn or in the seats.

I would rate this less than 1 star if I could. We could barely hear the concert, they over sold on tickets. There was no way all those people there would have been able to sit down. Drinks were ridiculously expensive. Over and hour wait to get drinks or to use the bathroom. So poorly managed. Would never return to this venue again.

Great place to tailgate. Bring chairs and food to grill, cooler with drinks. The smell of the farm ruins the beautiful view. Lawn is awful venue to view a concert. They oversell so you will constantly be kicked, shoved, and spilled on. Unless you are close, the crowd chatter drowns out the music. If you want to spend a lot of money for a party, this might be for you but if you like music, find another venue or at least get pavillion seats. Be prepared as getting that many drunk slobs out of the concert takes a lot of time. Leaving the parking lot could take an hour.

Dated facilities, very few bathrooms and porta potties were filthy. Serious lack of security. Rampant smoking (pot and cigarettes) everywhere. If there was a medical emergency, I have SERIOUS doubts EMTs would be able to make there was to patrons in need. The steep hills and overcrowding are just unacceptable. Prices for concessions are outrageous.

The BNL & Hootie show was incredible. Great sound work, reasonable ticket prices, and good concession choices. The long walk and steep hills were tough because of my bad knees so I'll probably pay for premium parking next time.

Great building for music but security will hassle you about everything. I was threatened to be kicked out of the parking lot because I was trying to sell an extra ticket I had for less than face value...

Worste staff I've ever encountered, ridiculous beer prices! 15 dollars for 1 beer? Please don't get me started on the quality of the food... Paid 250 dollars for tickets to a concert that we could barely hear the music at. We were so disappointed by the end that i dont think we would attend another show there if they offered us free tickets.

Completely oversold. Thousands of people trying to go through 3 tiny security lines, get inside and thr lawn was a sardine can... can't move, shoulder to shoulder. Lack of speakers means you can't hear the music at all either. Never again.

Enjoyed the concert, but beer and cocktails are priced way too high. Beer was 16 and cocktails were 20 I believe. Just too ridiculous, I get having to support a venue, but even strangers were commenting to each other. Lawn has good views and we ended up in the pit which was run well, up close and security was good.

Went there a few weeks ago to see Dave Matthews band had no issues getting in and out of the concert. Last night we went too see jimmy buffet getting out of the parking lot was longer than what the concert was. Need better organization of getting out of this place. My sisters car broke down at the entrance we got in the concert and she had to leave to put her keys in the car so it could be towed. No one could answer if she left the concert could she get back in. You would think all of our fine security guards would of been able to put her on a golf cart to at least take her out to the entrance of the parking (hwy D) and bring her back so she wouldn t miss the concert. Lack of restrooms inside of the venues. People peeing off of the decks because there was nothing close besides walking up the steep hill.

So disorganized since they reopened! I don t remember getting into the venue or out of the lot at the end of the night being nearly this difficult the last two times I came (in 2016 and 2010). I hope they get it back together after this weekend, because the venue is beautiful and amazing with quality sound and lots of history.

Love Alpine!!! One of the greatest places to see shows! Love that we can tailgate. Easy to get to. Easy to jump on and off the interstate from. Food & drink are a bit pricy, but that seems pretty standard these days. Alpine is awesome!!!

It's been many years since the last time I was at this venue. I don't remember them jamming people in the way it was tonight. There was not enough space on the lawn to accommodate the number of people allowed in. It felt very unsafe. In addition to the sardine like feel, the sound was not good. I was sitting toward the back and found it difficult the hear the musician. Having seen this performer several time before at different venues I know this isn't typical of him. Overall it was disappointing and I'm not sure I will return to the venue for future shows.

I also had a horrible experience at Jimmy Buffett in J- Alpine Valley in July 2019. The lawn seating was inadequate for the number of people. It was dangerous. We left after two songs. I contacted Live Nation for refund. Surprise! No refunds. I contacted credit card company and have a pending refund.

Fantastic venue in the middle of nowhere. Went to see Rage Against The Machine in 2007. No homes within miles means they can crank the sound levels up to eardrum splitting levels. Live in Detroit, so it was an eight hour drive. Worth it!!! The best concert I have been to by far.!!!!!!!!
