Beautiful scenery & one of a kind unique outdoor concert venue!
Best outdoor venue in the Midwest. Lawn seating preferred and lots of options to drink & eat while there.
Nice venue. Clean. Even with a crowded music performance lines were manageable. The only downfall...parking not marked well and if you have never been there before and required handicap parking look it up in the website on directions so you go to the proper parking area first. They drove us to the venue entrance from handicap parking area and back as well because it is still a distance.
Went to see The Who and it was amazing. The sound is absolutely fantastic. Also the staff was top notch. I interacted with several of them and they were all very polite and friendly. The venue is amazing and will definitely be back for more. Alpine is the best.....
Hands down one of the best venues in the country. Allow vending and camping and it IS the best...security needs to stop preying off the spun out sheew goers and stop being money hungry butt munches that just want you to swipe your credit cards because you smoked a little weed. Other than that...love the place
Attended Jimmy Buffett 7/20/19. Arrived to gate 1.5 before show. Waited in line 15 min. No problem getting into seats. After seeing the lawn area/seats. So happy I paid the extra money for a true seat. If ever attend another event. I will not to purchase the lawn seats. I want to give parking a -5. Coming in they directed traffic. Going out, that was a f...ing mess. Took 2 hrs to get out of parking lot. Would of thought they would of had someone directing traffic going out. No, you were on your own. People yelling at you and swearing that they had been in line longer. I'm sure this is nothing new to them. Sad they have not addressed this. With how much money transferred hands that day. This was the last thing I expected. Bad part on there planning!!
The best place to see outdoor music. Beers are $15.
Great venue, prices are high but tailgating Is allowed
Missed the first 5 songs because the will call line took over an hour.. The line to buy tickets was moving faster than the line that people already had tickets ready. Terrible service.
Great venue, however if you have a hard time getting around this place is not for you. The paths are very steep going down into the theatre. All around a great theatre glad shows are back!
First visit to Alpine was July 9, 2016 to see Dead and Company - amazing show and the venue lived up to it's legend. I had horror stories about parking and leaving but found both to be fine. I wouldn't say either was easy, but both were normal for a show of this size, and probably better handled with staff and security than many I've been too. It was a very hot day for the festivities in the parking lot, but the staff were friendly and great about offering water. The amphitheater itself was beautiful and well laid out - restrooms were clean. Had a great time and will come back someday I'm sure
Nice venue. And The Who was spectacular. I get supply and demand, but concession prices are ridiculous here. Don't show up hungry because a snack at the concession stand will leave you broke.
Bring money or booze in 18 bucks for a beer, that the local grocery store sells for 2 bucks
If I could leave negative stars I would! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS VENUE!! They jam as many people as possible into the space at the risk of safety and decency and don t care at all! One on one the staff is AMAZING but the ones above who control the venue are grossly negligent! There is no cell phone coverage AT ALL and absolutely no way to find your group if you get separated! Don not go there is you want a safe enjoyable night!
Love this place great view of the stage from anywhere and great view of the country side period be ready for the hills.
Great outdoor venue. Never had a bad experience. Tailgate in the lot prior to your show. The drink prices are unseasonable inside.
We went to Jimmy Buffett concert and I think they allowed 8-10 thousand to many people on the grounds. 8-10 people with 45 minute wait for the toilet or portable toilet's. The beer lines were brutal ran out of Miller lite at the beer vendors. We can take this off our bucket list to go to alpine valley. First timers
The Dead were awesome. The venue sucked. Arrived plenty early, and stood in line for an hour and a half to get through the single gate they had open. Well, it wasn't a line, it was a moshpit of 40 thousand people, all through a single gate. Needless to say, due to terrible event management, we and 15000 or 20000 others missed 2 or more songs. 100% the venue's fault and they didn't even attempt to alleviate the situation THEY created. Will not come back here again.
Super pretty views during the day. Had a great time, but they stuff you in like sardines!
One of my favorite venues for a concert. Parking gets messy if it's muddy.
Music sounded great, staff was polite and considerate, the parking ended up being free
Tailgating really makes the day a ton of fun. Concerts are made good by the band's but the venues itself is all about the pre-concert tailgating. Get there early and grill out play bags drink some beers whatever. Well run.
I've been here several times. Saw my first concert here ever. Has changed alot. All for the better.
Loved Alpine Valley Dead Shows !!! One of my favorite outdoor venues to see the boys ! 87',88' & 89' So many good times up there & some smoking shows back in the day but apparently Alpine has changed quite a bit since my last big hoorah up there. $16 beers, No Thanks!
Favorite part of the country, and an amazing music venue, take the trip! Bring the tent!
This is a place that needs an update I was there this weekend at the dead and company show 1) They need real security guards not high school kids
2) Major safety issues when the sun goes down and you re on the bottom of the hill it is the most dangerous place to be because if you need to use the bathroom or need a drink there s no way in hell you can get back up to the hill because there s no lights in place it is super dark and very scary so my suggestion is to stay up on the hill near the bathrooms and where the lights are this was my first time ever there.. They should place solar lights all up and down the hill so people can see where they re going I just have a bad feeling that something could wrong.. Alway leaving early was hard to see people in front you . We made out in time there were all people. My experience was very expensive the concert was great but too bad it was there because I probably will not go back!!!!There s some other great bands coming there but unfortunately I would love to see them but there s no way I would go back until there is a way that there is safety in place and lights on that hill so you can see what the hell you re going or security guards up and down that hill..
Great but the bar line was ridiculously long. Would miss half the concert if you wanted to drink inside.
One of the better amphitheaters around. Leaving a sold out show is not a good experience!
Could be a great venue. But takes to long to get parked. Takes to long to get in. A beer is $15 minimum.
Really?!?! You are still giving out marijuana tickets to law abiding citizens? How do you sleep at night?
Last time I was there for a concert the water quit working.
Would be nice if you didn't need cash to buy any food or drink.
I am biased..Farm Aid is so generous to arrange a charity. Wisconsin has more small(not factory or corporate) *farmers that go bankrupt, more than in ANY state. Yet the state is not hurting???
The size is massive. Tons of lawn- space seating. Bring sand chairs..not regular heights.
Seating is under the roof.
Get VERY DETAILED MAPS WITH EXACT DISTANCES AND WHETHER "NEXT COUNTY ROAD IS MOSTLY NORTH EAST OR SOUTH..OR AT LEAST ADVISE LEFT OR RIGHT. NEED IDENTITIES ON CROSS ROADS..ALSO ..THEY HAVE ANY NUMBER OF CLOVER LEAFS..GENERALLY COUNTY ROAD D IS THE WORST TO TRY AND STAY ON..FROM HIGHSAY 41 THERE ARE MANY OPTIONS. IT TOOK ME 2.5 HOURS FROM hwy.41.. I came from Illinois and almost to Racine ..and got info to go back to 45. Gas station by McD's etc..said take D all the way. How Far? I did ask. Oh..Idont know..maybe 10 miles.(no ..+not close) how long? Maybe 10 minutes..hell no.
Be very prepared. only 2 lanes after getting off 41. At 45 exit. Hilly. NEVER SAW ON ADVERTISEMENT. SAW HIGH HILL FOR MILES ON MY RIGHT..REMINDED ME THAT THOSE HIGH HILLS..WATER ON LOW GROND AND ROAD..CAUSED FOG IN august 1990 when we lost Stevie Ray Vaughn there.(+Etc.memory fails on others lost) Clapton + others took a different copter.
I felt sick but wanted to find this infamous place. I kept watching the sky. Finally I saw bright and different colored lights in the ske..on the horizon. Another hour of guessing..and at the end of County Highway D.
Maybe locals hate visitors..but I arrived at 8 or so. Suprisingly it was playing til midnight. Since noon.. And as a person permanently painfully disabled person..I suffered horrific pain in that rotten search. And the lawn seating is BEYOND STEEP. Sure, thats nice for viewing..2-3' down on each row! .but its "Dirty" hard to climb up to ground level. Most everyone was stumbling. Not exaggerating. Not only drunks either. **Hand rails would be minimal..**steps would be humane.
Not exaggerating. I am not a whiner.. Good luck..
Used to be a very nice venue..loved coming here with my family to see DMB but this year, he didn't add Alpine Valley to his summer tour, which is a big bummer, because without Dave Matthews Band, the Alpine Valley doesn't live up to its name. It wouldn't be the true Alpine Valley because when most people think of Alpine Valley they think of DMB because it's best act there. So sad not to see Alpine Valley not on the tour lineup.
I've seen Dave Matthews band twice at Alpine because they are my girlfriends favorite band. If you can afford to sit under the canopy or the actual seat-backs then do it. I've tried the grass seats and going forward I will always pay extra to sit closer.
This is aweful since Live Nation took over! Don't waste your money. We have a son with disabilities. Like to take him in a rv. Used to be ble to park the rv in the handicap lot. No longer can as we are an rv. Pay $150 for a parking spot and they pack you in so tight we couldn't even open our slide of 24". Pay $60 for grass seats. As we couldnt get in handicap parking we had to walk quite a way with our disabled son. Finally admitted through the gate at 8:10 for a 8 oclock concert to have to turn around and walk back out. So over sold that you couldnt even move to the grass much less be able to even stand and enjoy the concert. Alpine, you disappoint
There were enough bathrooms inside the venue, didn't have to wait forever to use the toilet. However, out in the parking lot there was NO hand sanitizer in any of the portable toilets, Come on!
Had an amazing evening with Brad Paisley. Havn't been there in over 25 years. Brought back some pretty awesome memories. They now rent chairs for lawn seats.
Extremely phenomenal Amphitheater!!! We recently went here to see Dead and Company on both days and Brad Paisley plus Hank Williams jr 2018. I strongly recommend everyone to visit Alpine Valley. The views are incredible and the atmosphere has a wonderful vibe to it. Don't ever pass up a chance to visit the historical Alpine Valley, many good memories were/are made here. You won't be let down.
Over sold tickets, way too crowded, standing room only, poor sound.....
2 hours after the show is over, and we haven't moved from our parking spot yet. What a total cluster----. Complete chaos.....Average sound system at best...
Gorgeous outdoor space! The hills make it so everyone has a great view no matter where their seats are. The only downside is the drink prices! 13 for a beer! Not even a good beer, just run of the mill domestic for $13. Plus the parking is ridiculous; the narrow roads in East Troy are not ready to handle that amount of traffic it took us and hour to get into the venue.
It's Alpine, been going all my life. Ridiculous prices for everything. Can't wait to go back!
5 Negative stars. Horrible experience. Oversold tickets, unsafe chaos at entrance, fights breaking out. Started at 7:15 in line and Buffet was playing by the time our party of 18 got in an hour later. Nowhere to go once inside and still the crowd kept coming in. Could barely hear the band. Left after 10 minutes of just standing in the aisle. What a complete ripoff.
If this keeps up say goodbye to Alpine Valley. Very disappointing.
Hopefully next year Buffet plays at the American Family Amphitheater. He could have his own Buffet Fest weekend where they know how to operate a nice venue. Never going back to AV.
I have been to literally dozens of concert venues and I have to rate alpine valley music theater as a toilet and dump. I'm sure that most of the 4 and 5 star reviews are totally fake.
Great food, great music, great atmosphere! But since I was there for a 30,000+ event, there could have been a better plan for the toilet situation.
Been here multiple times for Dave Matthews Band with my family. Can't wait to return this summer.
If I could give negative stars I would. Left after 10 minutes because I couldn't get a seat. Nobody helped or cared. They only me I had to move. Thanks for all the money spent and a huge disappointment Alpine Valley!
Everything was wonderful..except the outrageously high priced food and beverages.
You have to want to come here; you don't just end up coming to a concert at Alpine. I think the artists realize the commitment the fans have made, and that adds to the energy of the performance. One star taken away for the moronic exit strategies and $17 beers.
Saw phish here it was freaking awesome the venue is perfection except there s no hotels nearby so I stayed in lake Geneva which was about a $50 Uber
Really stepped their game up from when I was here last. Good venue.
I'm sure somebody gets paid a lot of $ to plan logistics for this venue. They need to get fired. Thousands of people in line with only two security guys wanding all of them. Are you kidding me? My group as well as hundreds of others turned around and never made it in after waiting over an hour. Waste of time and money. Never again.
Stop lying... I was at Dead and Company in July 2018. The sound was horrible. They haven't updated the sound or screens in 20 years.
Don't waste your time its not worth going.
It was our first time there. We had great seats but the trip down and up was miserable..I have bad knees...if I would have known, we would not have made the 3 plus hour trip....and a hotel stay.....the wesite should post "young and agile only"...I won't be back .
If one is disabled and cant afford to ditch in front it is very difficult to maneuver the hill!!@@ very poor and dangerous. Not enough railings etc.
Alpine Valley is my happy place! My very place to see Dave Matthews!!
As we we pulled in the parking staff were rude and condescending. I saw them making fun of a driver as they parked. When going in the security was a joke. I probably could have brought a rocket launcher in and they wouldn't have noticed. I've been to a lot of place and have paid outrageous prices for things but here was astronomical. Trying to get to the restroom was almost impossible due to not enough isles on the lawn. You have to walk over people for way too long to get to an isle. Here's the grand finale:::: We were walking out of the concert where the cars were parked. A black car with his lights turned off fly's right in front is us. I pulled my wife back from getting hit. Everyone started yelling at him but he didn t stop. We walked on to our black car and sat in line for awhile and almost to the exit a guy on a four wheeler and another guy comes driving and running up and blocked us. They wouldn t tell us why they stopped us until I kept asking him. He said someone reported that a black car like mine with Indiana plates was driving crazy with it lights turned off. I told them what happened but they weren t having it. I backed up as one of them stood behind me. I backed up far enough to go around the four wheeler and left as the security guy banged on the back of my car. What a joke, this place gives Wisconsin a bad name and visitors a bad taste in their moths. I drove over 5 hours for this.
The venue is awesome! They just need to NOT allow vaping in the bowl!! Takes away from your awesome concert experience...
Parking is still a nightmare getting out. Not sure what VIP and Premier Parking actually does. But the venue is a great place to see a show.
WAY overbooked most of the people had to stand crowded on the walkways... will not be attending any other events held at Alpine valley
