Staff is very friendly and courteous tons of info on products and no pressure sales, plus I over heard them giving directions to another store for the same particular kind of item( the customer did say he would be back). They have tons of merchandise on hand and lots of discounts too. Totally worth the adventure to Applachian Outdoors!!

Appalachian Outdoors is my avorite place in State College to get cute and functional clothing and gears. I have never had any problems shopping there. The staff there are always knowlable and eager to help. They also have the best customer service in town. Highly recommend.

Great Store! Staff is very helpful and well informed on the products that they have. I went in looking for a framed baby carrier and even though they didn't have one that would meet my needs they gave me a bunch of great advice.

Huge amount of products and a great understanding of both what they're selling, and the regional venues in which to use what you buy.

Also, they did an internet price match of a daypack that I was interested in, which is rare and was helpful. Have been a customer for 15 years, and will continue to be so for as long as I'm in the area.

High quality stuff, usually at full retail price. They have 2 sales a year where you can save really big but your discount is determined by drawing a poker chip out of a bag (color determines discount).

The staff are very patient and are actual outdoor types who can really help you decide what's best for you.

Staff is super friendly! Usually multiple staff members greet you as you walk in. They are very knowledgeable of their products and offer great suggestions to find just what you need for hiking, camping, skiing, etc.

I love shopping here because I trust the staff and their knowledge. They also rent certain things out so you don't always have to buy something brand new to go on an adventure.

You can probably get some of their products elsewhere for cheaper, but it's worth spending a few extra bucks on the local economy!
