The movie theater is clean and the seats are very comfortable.
The show was awesome..haven't been to the Apollo since I was a teenager but it's small & I paid alot for my tickets & wish that there was more control of people coming to the front from the back & upstairs
Well lit and could the actor without using a microphone; however, they ran out of Playbills.
Historical and monumental. I saw the 'Forces of Nature' Kwaanza celebration and it was Divine just as it is every year. I respect and love that the Apollo is a place that still hidts community engagement forums and events for free.
Exciting to see all the great stars that went through this theater!
Doorman let me to take photos inside the Theatre!! It's so nice!!
The best in black entertainment in New York City...
Very fun show to go to. Would recommend to anyone of any age.
Congratulations friends !!!!!!!! FOR KEEPING THE THEATER LIVE ..
Amazing family show. You will be greatly entertained!!!!
Best place to dance eat and meet new people, specially on the weekend
Needs to be more organized at the door.
But the show was GREAT
Loved being apart of celebrating the 85th Anniversary of the Apollo.
One of Harlem's landmarks and well worth a trip. Iconic signage, stars' names on the pavement, and glittery interior with good gift shop. Didn't manage to see a performance but would be a must do on next trip.
I've been here numerous times, always a good place to visit
When They See Us, Netflix premier. Oprah and the 5 exonerated central park joggers were oresent. Perfect place experience what many go through in an ill fated society!
I have not entered but it deserves to go to the place where so many great musicians have performed. It has its own "walk of fame".
Loved my first time experience! Dont drink too much though the bathrooms get packed quickly a
We went to one of the Wednesday amateur nights, definitely recommended
We enjoyed Amateur Night on July 4th. We took our children (age ranges 15 to 20). They loved it too. It has a great atmosphere. If I lived in NY, I would probably go each week.
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION.....
WE SAW SHOWTIME AT THE APOLLO.
STEVE HARVEY WAS NOTHING BUT FUN N LAUGHTER.
Accommodation s were good, security was good, but, it's nothing like it used to be! Boring these days, not for the people of Harlem or New Yorkers anymore!
The legendary Apollo Theater has not lost its importance. I've seen so many wonderful shows here from independent artists to Oprah. The yearly Kwanzaa festival is always heart-warming, Amateur night is an interesting experience, and the Apollo Music Cafe has some great smaller acts as well. As a tall woman, I struggle a bit with the lack of leg room in the balcony seating and even more so with the lack of ANY room in the balcony restroom stalls. But even that's not enough to make me want to give less than 5 stars.
HISTORIC ENTERTAINMENT THEATER!!! IT'S THE GRAND OLE OPRY OF THE NORTH!!!
The feeling of being inside was wonderful, after seeing the Apollo of television for so many years, I felt so connected.
I love the vibes at the Apollo
Such as classic vibe and very historic.. congrats to the staff and all employees at the Apollo for a great welcoming! And Great music , If your in Harlem New York you need to pass by the theater and catch a vibe!! Be there early to assure a fast entry ...party , Food , and drinks got me on , Salute
Great programs and the admission is very inexpensive
What a great show. Tamia Lawrence performed and killed it! Great staff as well
Came here for the Women of the World Music Festival, and saw Alice Smith perform. I ve always avoided seeing shows here in the past because of how busy 125th is, and that Apollo staff takes FOREVER getting people in the theater. They like to draw attention, by creating these obnoxiously long lines outside the the theater. But the show was great. Alice Smith has an AMAZING voice, so strong and sultry. She was worth the wait for sure.
1st time here and I loved it ... although it can get warm in here
You can't visit Harlem and not go to the Apollo Theater...
Good mood last night but the sound engineers don't know at all the job.The sound was definitely TOO LOUD. Impossible to appreciate the show.
We won a tour of the Apollo in an auction. It is an amazing place and Billy Mitchell "Mr. Apollo" shared the stories and the pieces of the theatre with us in a once in a lifetime event. We were so blown away with the history of this place and it is on my bucket list to return when there is a show there. Wow, worth the trip to go for sure.
Such a great time. The theater is beautiful, the band was great. Everything just perfect
Wonderful evening, we liked it in every part and even the boys with a scholastic English understood and appreciated the event
Super recommended!
The atmosphere of community togetherness is great. This theatre along with it's nostalgic presence has a undeniable upbeat energy.
My First Time Here , Pretty Cool Place . Apollo Theater Clean For A Club , Not " Divey " At All . Coat Check & Restrooms By The Stage. Full Bar At The Back . Acoustics Are Great !
The history and the acoustics are amazing here. Saw David Grey with my wife. It was fantastic.
Legendary place in Harlem NY where many great musicians have played.
Beautiful historical experience with family reunion mr. Billy Elliott is living history
The most authentic music and scenic place in New York. APOLLO is the true soul of the city. I love it! I love Harlem!
I had never been and was blown away. A little old but what it lacks in amenities it makes up in charm
Must see attractions even though we were not able to enter due to the time.
I went to an amateur night on Wednesday.
Because I do not understand English, I enjoyed half the time, but I enjoyed the atmosphere of American norinori adequately.
The Apollo is one of the major culture landmarks of Harlem. As the neighborhood changes and adapts, the Apollo says the same.
Still providing much needed support to artist and performs of color. The Apollo maintains is rich cultural bones and architecture. When you walk through, you can imagine the many performers who have walked through these same halls.
Great venue to see a concert the acoustics are fantastic no matter where your seat is. One work of caution, if you sit in the upper balcony there are 3 sections the middle section is fine but if you sit on either of the outer section, the first seat in the row towards the center is slightly obstructed. Also, when people walk down the stairs to get to their seat, they walk right in front of you. If possible I would avoid sitting in that end spot. Also note the stairs in the upper balcony are very steep, although they do have handrails if stairs give you trouble.
First of all, I have been going to the Apollo Theater since I was a kid.
I have seen a variety of singers & musicians over the years and have never been disappointed.
This Holiday Gospel Celebration with Donald Lawrence & Yolanda Adams was no exception. The music was very inspirational, enjoyable and caused you to get involved in some way, whether singing along, patting your feet, clapping your hands, dancing in or out of your seat and even.....SHOUTING!
The price is reasonable and any seat in the house is in full view iof the stage.
I highly recommend the Apollo Theater as a place to feel comfortable and be highly entertained.
