Historical and monumental. I saw the 'Forces of Nature' Kwaanza celebration and it was Divine just as it is every year. I respect and love that the Apollo is a place that still hidts community engagement forums and events for free.

One of Harlem's landmarks and well worth a trip. Iconic signage, stars' names on the pavement, and glittery interior with good gift shop. Didn't manage to see a performance but would be a must do on next trip.

The legendary Apollo Theater has not lost its importance. I've seen so many wonderful shows here from independent artists to Oprah. The yearly Kwanzaa festival is always heart-warming, Amateur night is an interesting experience, and the Apollo Music Cafe has some great smaller acts as well. As a tall woman, I struggle a bit with the lack of leg room in the balcony seating and even more so with the lack of ANY room in the balcony restroom stalls. But even that's not enough to make me want to give less than 5 stars.

Came here for the Women of the World Music Festival, and saw Alice Smith perform. I ve always avoided seeing shows here in the past because of how busy 125th is, and that Apollo staff takes FOREVER getting people in the theater. They like to draw attention, by creating these obnoxiously long lines outside the the theater. But the show was great. Alice Smith has an AMAZING voice, so strong and sultry. She was worth the wait for sure.

We won a tour of the Apollo in an auction. It is an amazing place and Billy Mitchell "Mr. Apollo" shared the stories and the pieces of the theatre with us in a once in a lifetime event. We were so blown away with the history of this place and it is on my bucket list to return when there is a show there. Wow, worth the trip to go for sure.

I went to an amateur night on Wednesday.
Because I do not understand English, I enjoyed half the time, but I enjoyed the atmosphere of American norinori adequately.

The Apollo is one of the major culture landmarks of Harlem. As the neighborhood changes and adapts, the Apollo says the same.

Still providing much needed support to artist and performs of color. The Apollo maintains is rich cultural bones and architecture. When you walk through, you can imagine the many performers who have walked through these same halls.

Great venue to see a concert the acoustics are fantastic no matter where your seat is. One work of caution, if you sit in the upper balcony there are 3 sections the middle section is fine but if you sit on either of the outer section, the first seat in the row towards the center is slightly obstructed. Also, when people walk down the stairs to get to their seat, they walk right in front of you. If possible I would avoid sitting in that end spot. Also note the stairs in the upper balcony are very steep, although they do have handrails if stairs give you trouble.

First of all, I have been going to the Apollo Theater since I was a kid.
I have seen a variety of singers & musicians over the years and have never been disappointed.
This Holiday Gospel Celebration with Donald Lawrence & Yolanda Adams was no exception. The music was very inspirational, enjoyable and caused you to get involved in some way, whether singing along, patting your feet, clapping your hands, dancing in or out of your seat and even.....SHOUTING!
The price is reasonable and any seat in the house is in full view iof the stage.
I highly recommend the Apollo Theater as a place to feel comfortable and be highly entertained.
