Well-arranged specific zoo. It's nice that most animals have a fair amount of space - although I still have my doubts when I see a sign in an animal in a 10x10m cage 'they can run 60 km / h in the wild'.

Normally a nice park. Not this time, after an hour we were back in the car.

Very shocked by the failed Corona measures. Far too many people in the park, so the 1.5 meters is not realistic at all. Nor was this supervised at all. And was not maintained.

The only positive is that the monkeys are kept at a distance of 1.5 meters. Now please for the visitors please.

The park is nicely set up, with lots of greenery and space for the animals. It is a bit of a walk from the parking lot to the entrance, this is something to be reckoned with if you have difficulty walking. It is a nice walk and also easy to do with a wheelchair / buggy etc.

The employees in the park are friendly (although the employee who gave directions in the parking lot looked terribly grumpy ...) The feed presentations were nicely done. We have seen almost all monkey species, they also regularly came very close to us.

Unfortunately, the other facilities are not arranged so well. The food took endlessly before it was ready and was outrageously expensive for what you got. Also the staff was not aware of the content of the menus, so we missed things. As a vegetarian / vegan you can take better food with you anyway.

The toilets were filthy and smoked like it hadn't been cleaned for months. Sometimes paper was also missing.

If the facilities are being worked on, the park will certainly receive more stars from me.

As a companion during a school trip along the way to the Apenheul.
It was a very nice and clean park. The whole park is in a very wooded area so it looks very natural in the park. You also see all animals when you follow the walking route, this is definitely a plus. the only point of criticism is that you have to give way to a number of animals and vantage points of the path, so I did not have the chance with a group of enthusiastic children who wanted to go to THE merry-go-round.

Cool

Beautiful park landscaped in the woods next to Apeldoorn. Some paths closed and one direction traffic. Ordering a cup of coffee is only possible online, a bit cumbersome. Parking right next to the park, a short walk.

Nice, but also a setback. Currently it is very busy in the park. The route through the park, the number of toilets and the catering industry do not seem to have been calculated on this. There are queues everywhere. The first half of the park is mainly filelopen. There is a queue at all toilets and it also smells huge. At the catering points there are also several queues and there are also not enough seats. The "watching monkeys" halfway through the park also gets a bit bored. For the children (and the parents) the monkeys all look alike. Multiple species of Lemurs, Vari's and similar monkeys. The Orang Utans are clearly visible, but the Gorillas are a challenge. Fortunately, there is occasionally something "to do" for the children. For example, the carousel, the force measurement with gorillas and the researchers' camp. Final verdict: from now on to a regular zoo, where many of these monkeys can also be seen (including unloading area).

Selected a time slot via the internet due to Corona. Paid online and not even standing in line for 2 minutes upon arrival. The entrance to the park is really unprecedentedly beautiful, super nice and neatly maintained, but still feels like the woods. Super nice and helpful staff. Play facilities for children everywhere, but as adults you will not be bothered by this. Super informative, everywhere there are signs with text and explanations about the animals, where they come from and it is also made clear that the Apenheul plays a role in preserving the living and forest area of the animals. Despite Corona still a number of places where the monkeys ran wild. The animals have a lot of space to play and to live in and as a zoo critic, I saw happy, healthy animals with lots of living space. Everything has been thought of and every euro is more than worth it. Definitely recommended for young and old and especially if you have kids with a really full day out.

Park (4 stars): The park is pretty good in itself. The park is large, clean and there is plenty to see. The animals look good (compared to the caged animals in the zoo).
Food: The range is solid and good steps are being taken towards the environment and BIO. The food is a bit pricey, but the price quality ratio is better than many other park. I think you can also bring your own food.
Park employees: The knowledge of the park employees was sufficient. They were able to answer most questions with enthusiasm.

The 3 stars instead of 4 for the park was for 2 reasons.
1. One of the toilets (I visited 2) smelled really bad. So bad that people changed their children outside in the open air instead of in the baby cubicle.
2. The catering staff. I say hospitality staff, but my constructive criticism is directed at the managers.
The hospitality staff consists largely of friendly, benevolent young students and students. They need some guidance and guidance to be able to work efficiently and to achieve more revenue for the park.
6 hot dogs should be ready in max 2 minutes and not 13 minutes because everything runs out every time.
You can definitely make some profit here!

A great zoo specialized in monkeys and apes. The whole park is part of a greater wooded area, this makes the animal enclosures really roomy and fit for monkeys. Lots of high places to explore for them.
In large parts of the zoo the visitors are walking amongst the animals. The monkeys are used to people and just go about their business, especially since visitors comply with not feeding the animals. The visitors are generally ignored.
The weather was lovely during this visit and I think this park needs a sunny day.

A well-kept and beautiful monkey park. There is a very large affinity for certain monkeys up to a few centimeters (not to caress).
Parking costs as of the publication of this review 8.3 in the municipal park in front of the park. We spent half a day having fun. It is recommended to pre-order tickets on their website at a cheaper price sometimes (20 euros less for 5 persons).
A little tip: watch out for the parrot He steals food (:
Love you give

Leuk park, mooie omgeving.

Nice and clean park. Good signposts.
Nice shows, good and nice staff.
Certainly nice for small children who like to play in the playgrounds. And for parents, there is plenty of opportunity with food and drink.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 precautions, the nicest part of the park, the part where the monkeys roam freely, is closed to visitors. Apenheul does everything to visit it safely. We were sorry that this was not known in advance.

Tip: if you pay for your parking ticket in advance, you will not be in a long line at the end.

Furthermore, beautiful large park. The sun was shining all day so it was very busy, but that is to be expected with nice weather.

Not your average zoo. The best part is experiencing and engaging with free roaming squirrel monkeys! Loved the educational, fun walk looking at the various types of monkeys. Beautiful park and great place to bring children. Would have liked to see more proper care and respect for animals, as many visitors were using flash directly in the face of the orangutans behind glass and some children inappropriately screaming and chasing free roaming birds or monkeys.

Spacious park with occasionally free-running specimens, larger ones are of course in quite large enclosures. Unfortunately, it was almost impossible for us to order or pay for food and drinks online on site (2020). Too bad.

Had a great day. Watching monkeys is always fun.

Had a great day. Watching monkeys is always fun.
What is also nice is that there are caregivers everywhere that you can easily speak to.

If you follow the people who follow all feeding times, you are in a gigantic bustle.
So if you are easily over-stimulated, it is advisable not to go along with it.

They have wheelchairs to borrow. Not the best so if you bring your own you will be better off, but still.
And a considerable part of the park is wheelchair accessible.

If you go there, bring a bag with a zipper, then you don't have to borrow one. Because otherwise the monkeys will steal your lunch box. : P

The monkeys are not likely to sit on you. So don't be afraid of that. According to my parents, the park has really changed since the past to prevent that. But they have learned that prams are often full of treats so they find them interesting. XD

When it rains it is not a good idea to come, a considerable part is outside!

This is a really fun place to go for all ages. There are loads of monkeys, which you can get close to. Some wander around where you are walking. Others like orangutans and gorillas you can see roaming around in their enclosures. On the way there are lots of places for children to climb around or play with sand, some great slides and plenty of refreshments. It's also nice to see the monkeys being fed.
