Been taking my dog for years to get groomed. They are very diligent. The owner always takes the time to make sure all animals are up to date on shots. Renee the owner has shown dogs for years and is always looking over my dog for anything that might need the vets attention.
I'm not sure what the going rate is for applicable services elsewhere, but I feel I get good bang for your buck.

I called to ask about grooming, was told they would groom the dog, trim his nails, and give him a d'shedding treatment. It basically looks like they brushed him, no grooming as requested, and his nail was trimmed too short. within 40 minutes of him being home his nail broke and he is bleeding all around my house. Also he is still shedding hair everywhere, which I was told.would be completely combed out.

Between asking for something, and not getting what I wanted, and more seriously him bleeding everywhere I am seriously upset. I wasn't going to write about the "grooming" or lack thereof, but once he started bleeding everywhere I felt compelled.

We have taken our two yorkies to Animal Hut for the past 17 years. We feel that both of our dogs have experienced the very best grooming and care that could ever be offered in a business. Renee and her entire staff have always put our dogs as their number #1 priority. They offer so much professional and personal care to every client .

Very helpful! Has some small animal supplies. Just wish they had bedding for caged animals.

Always very helpful with anything pet related from food to grooming essentials. Has given me complimentary samples to help pick items and Coco loves her personally stylist, Brittany.

10 month old poodle/ australian shep and he is a hand full. First time we enjoyed the groomers! He got a "report card" with his visit, he got a "B", which I bet he didn't deserve that. They more affordable than elsewhere- no add on's to bill and did a fantastic job! We couldn't be happier. This was a NO STRESS appointment. Dropped off/ pick up--that's it. Thank you Animal Hut!

I started taking my 8 month old Golden Retriever to Animal Hut when she became to heavy for me to lift and bathe her. I absolutely love her finished look! Her groomer does a beautiful job with her! They are patient and thorough. I highly recommend them.

My dogs have been cared for by the staff at Animal Hut for years. They go above and beyond to care for my dogs. They have adapted to the social needs of one dog, the emotional needs of another dog, and the physical needs of an elderly dog. Each dog has been cared for and even loved by their groomer. Moreover, I love the transformation I see every time I pick them up. I really cannot even explain everything they have done for my dogs and their individual special needs. Finally, Renee and the staff at Animal Hut make sure I have everything I need for my pets and have gone above and beyond to place special orders when possible.

I have a small; older dog with anxiety issues. Sam did a great job grooming her. I recommend highly!!

I have been a customer of Animal Hut for over 26 years and have always had a great experience. Renee and her staff care about my dogs, treat them very well and always make them look so handsome. My "boys" love to go there! They get so excited when I tell them where we're going. I've never considered going anywhere else. I truly do hate to leave a bad review. I'm writing this on behalf of my mother, Tammy. We own the two Pomeranians, Phinx and Gia. We have been customers for well over 5 years. The main reason we kept giving this place so many chances is we live about one minute away from the plaza so it's very convenient for us.

Now this review is being compiled over some years as a customer. First, the owner (Renee), wasn't always the most pleasant person to converse with. Usually, we would be met with a standoffish attitude of some sort and for years we let it go. We know of other friends and colleagues who go there who had this same complaint, some stopping business altogether with her establishment. Now to be fair, she has had a better attitude over the last year with us.

The second point is she is too pushy with upselling. We come there and spend about $120 each visit and that's including the tip and we would still have her try and push her food, accessories, etc, onto us. $120 isn't cheap, stop being greedy and pushy, please.

Third, she used to do a loyalty program, buy 10 groomings and get one free. Well, we had 9 on our card and with no advance warning, she dishonors the program, doesn't give us the tenth credit and definitely did not give us a free grooming. You would think as a business owner, you would show a little more consideration to your long time and loyal customers. It's okay to cancel the program but to drop us like that... Terrible.

Fourth, and my last and most critical point, her groomers keep hurting our dogs! This has happened several times and we brought it to her attention before! We have small Pomeranians and they have had too many burns and gashes on them. It looks like bad razor or carpet burn. This last time was finally it for us. Our boy, Phinx, looks terrible on his stomach and inner groin area. The worst burns I've seen yet. We will be taking pictures and my mom, Tammy, will be coming into the store Tue Nov 1st 2016, to have a word with you and the groomer.

Sorry Renee, after years of bad service and attitude and you're expensive prices, we can no longer do business with you. I would advise that you start changing your business practices and start treating your customers with more respect. We will not be coming back to your business after Tue.

Animal Hut has groomed my two border collie mix dogs for years. My female Jessie is sometimes skittish at the vets but she is fine when she is groomed at Animal Hut. My dogs are always treated well and look and smell great after their grooming. Thank you Renee and everyone at the Hut! Jessie gets her Nutri Source food there too and they have a nice promotion where you buy so many bags then you get one free..

I had so much fun getting this little girl camera ready for the red, white, and blue days here at Animal Hut. I've been doing this for some months but he seems to be really enjoying this. Gotta love my job!!!

I love this place. Renee is the best Bichon groomer in Pittsburgh. I drive 1 1/2 hrs one way to use Animal Hut. I highly recommend this shop.

Here at Animal Hut we do our best to provide excellent service to our clients and their pets. We offer various services as part of our grooming, one being a deshedding package. The deshedding involves various steps including a special deshedding shampoo, and a deshedding conditioner, both of which the pet soaks in for 5 minutes. They are then blown dried and once dry they are combed with an appropriate deshedding tool and then brushed and combed. Most of our clients see a difference after one treatment, some don't. However usually with a second treatment the owner begins to see a difference. Sometimes it depends on where the pet is in it's shedding cycle. The purpose of the deshedding treatment is not only to remove the current shedding hair, but the treatment conditions the skin, coat and hair follicles to help prevent future heavy shedding. I had a completely awful experience! This was my second time going and this woman renee was horrible to my dog. I go to get her nails cut there and both times this woman says nothing but unkind words about my dog. She s a little shy so when she gets on the table renee says how she needs to be obedient and learn better. Then she kept saying how I needed to take her to obedient classes and she wasn t well
trained! I m completely appalled with her attitude toward my dog and will 100% be taking her elsewhere. Control your temper, renee.
