My family and I visited Andiamo for magical dining with friends who were in town escaping hurricane Florence. Unfortunately, given our experience I won't be returning.
We sat down for dinner at 6:30 and didn't leave until almost 9:30. The server took our orders fairly quickly. However, it essentially took an hour for each course to come out.
One member of our party ordered a beverage that wasn't good and wanted to send back, but couldn't because it took our server 45 minutes to come check on us -- and it wasn't even the server who ended up taking the drink away, it was the manager.
We were probably 3/4ths of the way through our meal before he checked in on us and asked how everything was. By that time, the two people who had steak and had it come out the wrong temperature, had eaten most of it, because they had been given no other option of having the mistake corrected. Everything took so long to get out, that by the time the food was on the table, I was no longer hungry and didn't want my food anymore
Somewhere while waiting for dessert our server told us their Baker was extremely backed up and he was checking on the desserts every two minutes. Which, given how many people were, or rather weren't, in the restaurant -- appeared to be an excuse for something else. After a complete lack of service and having to wait an hour for dessert, once the dessert got to the table, and the server asked how the dessert was and he finished with I hope it was worth the wait. Needless to say, that didn't go over well with our table.
When we brought our frustrations to the manager, the only thing he did was make sure our parking was validated so we didn't have to pay. Which, we shouldn't have had to pay in the first place, because they give you a three hour window to validate the parking.
For a party of 7, it's not a cheap tab. $300 can go a long ways and watching that go towards food that was either cooked to the wrong temperature or unable to be eaten because we had to wait so long that some weren't hungry anymore, is really unfortunate. I'm not one to ask for free things, but a simple genuine apology can go a long way and we weren't even given that.
Sadly, I know it wasn't just our table, because unfortunately another table not to far from us were extremely vocal about their same frustrations.
Honestly, if I could give it zero stars I would.
