Andersen AFB was quite clean and easy to navigate the road system. All the amenities were conveniently located and reasonably priced. If you're a military retiree, I recommend using your ID card privilege and visit Andersen AFB and Naval Base Guam.
We came here for a CAG-5 event in the early 90s. We were put up in condemmed barracks and our aircraft were located at the very end of the runway. Making it quite a challange to work. But naturally being the Navy we overcame our obstacles and had a splendid time here.

TAG Heuer Mens Carrera Calibre 16 Day Date
A great tribute to american astronaut John Glenn who was first American to orbit earth wearing a Heuer stop watch modified with a wrist strap. Set 20 sec past served as back up for Apollos Friendship 7 systems, hence, the first Swiss watch in space 1962. This mission was showcased in the book to movie adaptation, Hidden Figures. In July 1969, another Heuer stopwatch would time the descent of The Eagle to the surface of the moon. Both of these Heuer stopwatches are on display in the Smithsonian Museum. Excellent craftsmanship/time piece/complications...when time matters.
Todays design with silver dial reflects hues that of the moon. Picture is worth a thousand words.

It's not a terrible base, but it's not the best. Honestly, it's a bit outdated. The exchange is small compared to its Naval counterpart, there is nothing that is 24hrs so if you work nights good luck, and the beach is rocky making it not good for swimming.
It is the only place on island with a 45mph road!
The cleanliness could use some work. The roads near my job are terrible. Holes everywhere and raised parts of the road that fling you around. It s so bad that people drive off the road to avoid it.
It seems Google wiped the reviews for this base a while back. Base is outdated and poorly maintained IMO. It definitely pales in comparison to the naval base on the south part of the island. The northern part of the island (particularly the populated portions) is an absolute dump - we were very jealous when we saw the beauty of the south part of the island and the navy facilities.
