I would highly recommend Anchor Realty to anyone who plans to rent an apartment in San Francisco. I worked directly with Sharon and she was amazing: always responsive and accomodating. My wife and I had 0 issues moving in and moving out a year later. Sharon sent us our deposit in full within a week after we left the apartment.

Spending time and efforts to help a family with two kids in SF schools and I'm trying to help them find a place to live. I came across Anchor Realty's listing for a house on Bemis Streer in Glen Park needing Reno for about 900k. I make several calls back and forth to the family, they call their mortgage company and... Sounds good; let's proceed. I call Anchor Realty and no answer....I dial Mark, the owner of the company, and he answers his cell phone -- great! I tell him we are interested in the posted listing on Bemis Street -- he replies, very confused..."what? Huh? Oh...that listing is so old.(he chortles) Well over a year ago..."
In the extremely over-heated SF realty market, false, outdated listings posted are sloppy business, rude, and offer a glimmer of false hope -- that is totally unnecessary and actually mean for people desperately searching for housing.
What a WASTE OF TIME!

The worst bunch of slum lords I have ever dealt with in my entire life. The current president/ceo a Mr Mark Campana (only got the position because his grandfather started the company) seems to think he can harass and intimidate as well as lie and file false police reports in order to evict tenants so that they can rent to more affluent tech workers. He has a public record with the court system that shows this behavior is a long established way of doing business for him and Anchor Realty Inc. I would definitely not rent any properties from these people and if you already have document everything because eventually they will try something and you will need to have evidence that they are negligent.

Great and speedy service! We've been renting a house from Anchor Realty for more than six years. Whenever we need maintenance service, it always gets taken care of quickly. I called the office on Monday afternoon, 15 minutes before the closing time, and reported a blockage in the sewage line outside of the house - a recurring issue that happens every other year due to tree roots. Mal and Mark worked super hard to find a plumber, and left 3 messages on my phone to confirm the appointment. The blockage was fixed the next morning. Unparalleled customer service!!!

My partner and I have been living in an Anchor building in Hayes Valley for almost 6 months now and it's been a pretty solid experience. No complaints, only good things to say so far.

1. They have been renovating the units as people have moved out. We were lucky enough to move into one of these and it's been a godsend to have a beautiful kitchen and bathroom in the city that are FINALLY up to date (in SF we've all lived in a powder pink bathroom from the 70s at some point!). Solid surface countertops, new tile work, new/like new appliances, new fixtures, and a shower head that actually fits my 6'-5" bf AND has nice pressure. We might be paying a pretty penny for this unit especially given we moved in just prior to COVID SIP hitting but so glad we're in a beautiful space that is literally keeping me sane while we're stuck inside.
2. So far they have been very professional, responsive and communicative with repair work, providing security to the bike room (which was already inside the garage) after we had a theft, and they installed an additional clothes W/D as we only had one set previously. These are also app controlled. Yay tech!
3. Our property manager, Betty, is super kind and chill (she lives above us).

Anchor Realty is an uncaring, low level property management company. Very unresponsive to contact, extremely difficult to connect with a human who is active in any way for the client. Horrible at attending to customer and renter needs. Will respond when an issue has to do with their wellbeing but not so if it has to do with clients' wellbeing. "Scummy" comes to mind in reference to Anchor Realty.

I've lived in one of Anchor Realty's properties for over 7 years. I feel so lucky to have them as our property manager. They are quick to respond to my maintenance requests, often sending someone within 24 hours.

Awful awful people. I live in SF and have had several issues in my unit. Everytime I call, Mel answers the phone, gives as much attitude as a DMV worker and has no regard for anything.

I called about a plumbing issue and told him I wanted to be reimbursed for dishes that were in the sink when water came up the kitchen sink. He said no, that it s a kitchen sink and it s normal. Any competent person knows that the water that came up the sink could be anything from bath water to the contents of a toilet flush. I told him I m not using dishes with feces all over them and he said oh well. Give us a written letter stating that and it will be paid at the discretion of the landlord.

IT IS THE LAW to provide habitable housing conditions. Feces covered dishes falls in that catagory Anchor Realty.

Our on-site manager, Diana M, was an incredibly kind human being. We became friends with her and loved seeing her every week. We had several repairs that we requested such as the stove replacement, bathroom mirror replacement, and some paint jobs; all of these repairs were finished in less than a week and the contractors they hired were great. If we weren't moving to the SF burbs, we'd definitely stay as tenants here as long as possible.
