i stayed here one year back for nights and i really like the hotel.
this place suites for someone whose sunset catcher..
Fantastic but should have be told about construction going on outside suite
I am afraid that I have to share my disappointment/frustration about Anantara. I thought the brand anantara is one of the undoubtful 5 star hotel but it is definately no longer 5 star hotel to me.
First of all, the food in the main restaurant(360degree) are way below the standard and all the plate and spoons smelled like a fish. I had to ask the staffs to change my spoon, glass, plate..but the replaced one smelled same.
Second of all, there are lots of little kids in the swimming pool disturbing other guests including me(diving and splashing water to me) and no staffs were stopping them. It was just like one of the kampong hotel.
Wifi was not fast enough, safety box did not work even after i asked them fixed ... and finally i had to check out 2 nights earlier wasting the money i prepaid for 2 more nights.
The manager there seems not understanding the situation and just repeated the non-refund policy.
I believe the management there should improve a lot to regain the reputation of anantara.
Disappointing experience. At the time of booking there was no mention of building works occurring. Arrive and drilling all day until 430pm and again the next day. Beautiful outlook and pool was nice but not worth the $400 plus per night paid. We did a dinner voucher for the inconvenience but would have preferred peace and quiet as last night in Bali before heading home. Drinks are well over priced.
What a beautiful place. So comfort and relaxing. Nice service from all of the staff, clean & spacious room with full amenities. I also have a nice breakfast experience with a good view. Can't wait to be back soon.
Anantara never fails to pamper you.
It's a amazing resort. Superb room with great amenities and great view. Staff remember your name. The swimming pool is great. There is a location for romantic dinner next to the pool.
Food at the restaurant is OK, normal anantara choices. There is fresh juices for you to choose. The restaurant itself, you can stay for hours... Read your book and enjoy the coffee....
The reception staff upgraded us to a suite room however we were disappointed with the resort s phone line called to receptions kept busy most of the time and it took long time for the service to come .
We were really disappointing with the hotel. It needs to be done up and we had multiple issues with our room. Views are great and the rooms a good size, but for the price we paid there are much better alternatives. This was our last hotel on our trip and was by far the most expensive yet the worst out of all of them. The others were far superior and the staff were much friendlier elsewhere. A combination of small things spoil it such as not being given a drink when checking in after a long journey (when stated thirsty). I wouldn't call this 5 star - the service definitely isn't there and breakfast was only okay. We're surprised by the high rating on here. We had friends stay there and they said similar comments so don't think it was just us.
Really nice hotel, but far from everywhere.
Verry nice for honeymoon
Best spot for enjoy the sunset !
The place is 360' restaurant at rooftop
Best japanese restaurant i eat at uluwatu area ,
Lil bit pricy but its totally worth !!!
Service 10/10
Staff 10/10
Taste 12/10
My husband and i stayed here for the final 3 days of our honeymoon, having seen the amazing pictures on their website and very excited by the incredible views. However from start to finish it was a huge disappointment.
Our Ocean View private pool villa's pool had neither a private pool nor a proper view of the ocean. The pool was not private and the view included only a sliver of Ocean, it was also overlooked by the rest of the hotel which resembled a concrete megaplex on the Costa Del Sol, not a luxury resort in Indonesia. Our romantic room service plates and glasses were left in a bush outside the room for 24 hours, the fixtures were dirty and shabby, the whole room was grimy and poorly fitted. The 'included ipod dock and bose sound sytem' was a wire and a jack.
In an attempt to salvage our stay i asked if another room was available, i was offered a complimentary upgrade to a room i then discovered was advertised as cheaper than the one we had paid for, so in desperation i agreed to pay extra to move to a Two Bedroom Ocean Front Pool Villa. Once again while very grand the $791 a night room was poorly finished, dirty and a general mess. The sliding doors didn't meet flush, the showers were dirty, the skylights covered in grime, there was a hole in the pool tiling, all relatively minor issues in a budget or even midrange hotel, but when you're spending that much money everything should be perfect.
The public areas were nice, the views in places amazing and the food ok, but that couldn't redeem the poor general quality. The staff were very friendly but almost always ultimately unhelpful, everything took an age to happen, and basic questions were almost impossible to get answers to.
We were lucky to stay in some other remarkable hotels, expensive and $20 a night, all of them better than Anantara. How they can justify charging what they do is frankly remarkable, better value can surely be found at any other hotel in Bali.
We implore you to look elsewhere.
A must place to stay on. Though their best quality equal to the price but it's worth to stay even just for a night! Free shuttle to some places and free photo session with their photographer. I was staying 3 nights and have no regret. Will come back again if I have the chance.
Overpriced hotel, standard rooms and overall mediocre hotel design. "Pool suite" is totally misleading, you're sharing a common pool with neighboring rooms and it's very noisy. Construction and detailing is poor (I can hear people walking upstairs constantly. The hotel has no actual beach so you're forced to use the main pool or leave the hotel. Only redeeming feature is the amazingly friendly staff.
One of the best resort in bali, the view is outstanding..
Amazing hotel on the clift top overlooking sunset Point.
its a nice silent place, rooms are beautiful and you will have a wow effect when u enter. We stay at luxury hotels so if you are considering Anantara you wont go wrong.
there is no beach at the hotel, its at the shore but its all rocky so you cant swim.
cone here if you just want to relax at the hotel. the beach is famous for surfers.
also for kids there is nothing much, just a mini theater for movies.
service, clenliness, views, hospitality all 5 stars.
We visited this property to have dinner while staying at the Radisson next door. Everything about this hotel was very run down and unattractive. If we had been staying there we would have been very dissapointed. The place was poorly designed, and terribly maintained. After walking through the grounds to get to the restaurant we were so put off that we left and ate elsewhere.
Anantara Uluwatu is a beautiful property along the beach. Courteaus and friendly staff. Especially Bennie, thexzen, chef made janu. All of them made sure our stay was comfortable and the group was happy
Amazingly picturesque location. Was impressed from the moment we arrived. All the staff are super friendly they made our stay so special. This has to be the best hotel I've have ever stayed at. We stopped there 4 nights and the breakfast was fantastic, staff gave a service the owners should be extremely proud of. Will miss this place until the next time we come back
Hotel is nice, food is awful and expensive. Hospital breakfast tastes better than this.
Heaven on earth.
Just Fantabulous.
Best part of the resort is the swimming pool. And they have named it Infinity Pool, which perfectly defines it.
One can spend the whole day at the poolside watching the beauty of the sea with a great sunset. Extraordinary.
They have much to view in this place that it will take a whole one day.
Plus they have nice choices of restaurants, including a Japanese. Food was awesome and more over that staffs were very good.
Rooms were awesome with all required amenities.
They have choice of rooms with pool also.
Overall great place relax at the end of your trip.
Must stay, will go back for sure.
A thumbs up to Anantara team.
Double Tier Infinity pool.Spacious room with outdoor Jacuzzi.Beautiful beach accessible by lift.Affordable food menus.
Aim for the Ocean View suite or private pool Suites.
Would be back !
The Resort is quite secluded...
But the facilities provided are not many... Hence you are forced to go out and enjoy your daytime somewhere else..
Which is a pity considering the price you pay.
Our bedroom is a bit dusty plus there are mosquitoes. The lighting we think is not sufficient; shower gel pump is broken which has not been changed despite our complaint.
Perhaps the property has been around for awhile...
We used to love going to hotels in the past because they used to have high techs and facilities which are something out of ordinary that we wanna check out LATE...
But unfortunately NOT this one.. We checkout much early for the first time in our traveling experiences...
Heck, the TV can't even read my flash usb, which we loaded with movies in case the hotel's channels are "not" good enough..
Only the sea views captivate our attention.. And we love them every moment during sunrises and sunsets..
This is great hotel, with their excellent services, and good view landscape of the beautiful beach
The service is fantastic , the hotel staff will always smile to you but not hypocritical; The pool is fabulous, it faces to the sea and you just can lie down by the pool all day; The breakfast is rich, all kinds of egg dishes, fruits, juice, noodle soup...;
Great location, friendly wonderful staff but in real need of a face lift. The beds are the first thing that need attention. Unfortunately I spent three days in pain and three sleepless nights with back pain because of a old and very tired mattress. I ended up sleeping on the sofa bed in a effort to get a few hours sleep. I travel globally with my job and stay in a multitude of very good hotels for 90+ days a year and have not slept in something so uncomfortable anywhere. This was even more disappointing given the class of this hotel and the fact that I was there to relax. The pool area and the spa are both wonderful and as I said the staff are fantastic.
Probably the worst hotel I have stayed in for what it cost. The hotel is, and appears to be in poor condition and rooms are dirty. The room smelled like urine and we found dirty cups after the the room was cleaned, to top it off, there was a pubic hair stuck to the head board of the bed. I could keep going on and on. What made me write this review was when we tried to leave the hotel due to our lack of satisfaction, and there policy is firm that they do not refund any money no matter what. Even before staying at the hotel we informed the hotel we may need to cancel due to a death in the family and they still would not allow us to get our money back. Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT book at this hotel. Uluwatu is beautiful and there are plenty of hotels that are twice as nice and half the price. And, just to note, this is the first negative review I have ever written.
My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights and it was amazing. The staff are extremely friendly and are willing to do anything within their power to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The food within the resort is amazing and is similarly priced to dining out in Sydney.
There are two pools with an amazing ocean view, as well as an elevator down to the beach (which is amazing).
The resort is approx 10/15 min walk to Padang Padang. You can find a large number of cafes, restaurants and bars to relax at if you re looking to venture outside of the resort.
We will definitely be returning to Anantara as soon as possible!
We just went for the infinity pool and the view which is AMAZING. And we saw a dugong! They also have access to a private beach where you can get by elevator, which seems super cool. Other than that the place seems to be under construction at the moment so we're happy we didn't stay here, but hopefully this means lots of new cool and super fresh rooms for the upcoming high season.
Cannot rate this place highly enough. The staff are awesome and remember your name. The location is second to none. The value for money is good. The breakfast buffet absolutely kills it.
All restaurants on site are as good as anywhere in Bali. The Japanese is the best.
Only hitch we had was a malfunction where a piece of the wardrobe fell on me. But this could happen anywhere and the response from the staff was awesome.
Highly recommend this for a surf trip, eating trip or a sangria-by-the-pool type trip. Can not recommend more.
Great Hotel!! Nice ambience !! Affordable and excellent service!
very recommended..nice resort, nice room, nice view, excellent service and many more..
Lovely staff, great view, nice room.. so perfect for our honeymoon stay.. thank you anantara uluwatu, unforgettable moment for me and my husband
Really nice place to stay and enjoy the view, but not wedding friendly.. the never ending stairs are excrutiating, esp becoz i need to walk back and forth the chapel, preparation room, and the sea fire salt resto. Elders are not recommended to stay here.
Amazing view over the cliff, infinity pool very nice, bar with a very good service where to enjoy the sunset! There was high tide and wasn't possible to go down to the beach! We will come back for sure!
Luxury hotel with great views but the hotel manager was rude
Best view is suite 601 and 602, direct to the ocean also have a private plunge pool and jakuzzi.
Staying in Anantara is an wonderful experience. The rooms are provided with an overlooking view to the ocean with all the luxuries. We are pleased to be met with such hospitality. The breakfast is served with amazing view of the ocean from the top floor. You can have an peaceful time at the infinity pool and also a restaurant by the side available at your service. You can also enjoy an outdoor jacuzzi listening to the waves. The whole purpose of the resort is to have a relaxing and enjoyable stay with all the amenities.
It is at the south of Bali facing Indian Ocean. About an hour away from the airport. The rooms are very spacious and beautiful. Service was also good with 24hour reception and prompt assistance.
For 5 stars resort, the facility was bad.
The water that comes out of the jacuzzi was yellow, the bathroom look really old. On their website they say they have expresso machine in the room, which was one of the reason we booked but when we arrive, it wasn t there. When we asked, they said it had been removed it long time.
The mattress was old and sinking in the centre.
The food and breakfast was super basic.
The only thing that we love about this place is the view and the attentiveness of the staff.
Also, I can understand with no outside food and drink in the restaurant rules but in the room?
On the night of 21st I went down to ask if we can use microwave to make popcorn to bring to the room and the lady that was there that time refuses to help and said that outside food is not allowed In the room.
Their spa looks great but the massage itself was nowhere near good.
The shampoo in the spa bathroom stinks.
The suite is wonderful, the food is good, the cocktails are delicious, the service is wonderful, and the views are breath-taking no matter which corner you stand on. Would definitely be back!
Awesome view. Awesome staff. Simply breathtaking. Will definitely come back.
The natural views are nice... and that's about it. A room at this place will set you back anywhere between $500 USD to upwards of $1000 and I'm not sure how they justify it based on how run down the place looks and feels. If you eat here, beware of the whopping 21% service charge on top of the already pricey menu and 10% govt charge. That's insane. I saw some of the seafood they had on display for a barbecue night... There was a fish that looked like it was dead for a couple of weeks. The eyes were sunken and white and the flesh looked like it was decaying and yet it was there on a bed of ice, ready to be cooked and served to some unsuspecting customer. If this is any indication of what the food is like that you get to see.. imagine what they are hiding.
One of the best hotels you can get in Bali. Great food and the view for the room is majestic. Wonderful swimming pool facing the ocean. Great staff who are very supportive. Highly recomended.
The Resort is a great find if you want to get lost into nature. From the grand balinese style welcome to very sophisticated and curteous staff makes you feel not less than kinf of emperor.
We stayed in Ocean Front View and it was magnificent experience where whole beach covering your balcony, what other soothing experience you ask for!
Room service was prompt and the restaurant on 6th floor was decent for dinner but amazing for breakfast with plenty of varieties to cater any cultural background taste.
If you are from Australia the phone network coverage is excellent here and whole resort is covered with WiFi.
Overall it is genuinely 5 star experience.
Please be advised the resort is isolated from any happenings. If you are after quite and closer to nature experience then this is for you.
Look forward to visiting in near future when want me time
Great service and rooms, but in dire need of some renovations. Food options very limited, and breakfast a lacklustre affair. A perfectly fine experience, but doesn t live up to the Anantara brand, or the 5 star promise.
Great place. The lift to the beach doesn't work so you have to walk which is a shame. Rooms are fantastic, breakfast is great and staff are wonderful
Recommended for you who love sunset and chill in infinity pool. Their ocean view suite also wonderful, extra large room, having outdoors bathtubs with wonderful view. Just stay here at least once in life to enjoy your day
I originally gave the resort a lower rating due to the price not matching the portion of the food that I ordered on room service, but they took my feedback into regards and have said they have made some changes to the portion size already, which shows good customer service. We were compensated with a meal in the restaurant which was nice enough. The rooms are beautiful and have an amazing view, I loved the large sofa and balcony, however they are a little under-maintained as the air conditioning was leaking through the ceiling and our first room smelt very bad, I guess the previous guest was smoking in the room.... but they did move us to another room, I guess they should implement stricter penalities for those who violate the policy by smoking in the room. The spa was nice enough. Breakfast was ok but very basic, it is served alacarte during this time which is fine, but they should be honest about the cuts they have made for the promo price, in the terms and conditions of the promo. Cleanliness could be improved. The chefs in the kitchen often use their masks around their necks or below their nose, I don't feel comfortable with this during the pandemic, also alot of guests are walking around without masks, they should be more serious about this. I previously stayed at the Seminyak Anantara as my friend is one of the owners and it was slightly better maintained. I can't complain about the view here though, also most the staff are very friendly and professional. Will definitely stay again at the price we paid during covid times but I don't think I would stay if I had to pay full price as the rooms and breakfast are not good enough to reflect the normal price, however I hope they make some changes. If they cut some things to reduce the price I think everyone would be fine if that was honestly stated before booking. Nice little staycation overall. I had been planning to stay here even before the pandemic.
Excellent views very friendly and smiley staff amazing views from the rooms with a balcony jacuzzi experience... Good food excellent breakfast. Free shuttle service to Uluwatu Temple with the fire dance, and also to the really nice beach near by. By far the best surf spot and the view of the infinity pool over the cliffs +waves +sunset is to die for
This is one of the best place to stay and there service is wonderful.will visit again if possible.
the room and view is amazing but the service is not, I asked for extra blanket twice they said yes but the blanket is never come. You just can said no then make me waiting for the blanket. And the operator was rude I can tell from his voice
Good place for refresh from daily routinitas, enjoy the place, safety, wonderfull to view the sunset, but the staff
The view of the ocean from my room was fantastic. The cleanliness needed to be improved. I m allergy to dust. I had a runny nose and sneezing all the time while staying in the room, especially on the bed. Nice staffs with great service.
Nice villa with big private pool! Amazing ocean view and the breakfast was fantastic too!
They re too many steps, it s not very convenient for disabilities. Maybe can build a left or more slope.
Wonderful.
I stayed with family as a birthday treat for my younger daughter.
Kids enjoyed the mini teather much but the movie selection is not many.
As it was preopening for new normal some facilities was not fully operated. Breakfast is good, the staffs were great.
Parking area is a bit small. Room is spacious. Bathroom and jacuzzi is my favorite.
Too bad that the access to the beach was closed due to high tide.
Amazing resort with quality services & facilities. Excellent staffs. We had wonderful 2 days Great and memorable stay...it was My birthday they really surprised me with the delicious cake ( memorable stay just loved it) Would love to go back again...awesome villa, with ocean view. Great for honeymoon and couples. The villa is super spacious, private with perfect built-in sound system. Very relaxing sitting in the spa bath watching the sunset while listening to Melody's music...food was too good but felt too expensive apart from that it was beautiful stay at Anantara. And also to mention about Jane the photographer who took amazing pictures of us
Thanks for the beautiful memories!
Hotel located on a cliff with nice view, great room and very comfortable.
But beware
- some room lack privacy due to the glass door are directly facing other room on higher floor balcony, so people can see inside other room
- inside the room i can still find a few strand of hair and also spider web
- not very accessible due to some part of the hotel are only accessible with stairs (pool, cliff bar, lift access to beach)
- jacuzzi water are yellowish (it seems to be happening since last few months based on previous review)
One of the best service resorts in this area. Truly enjoyed our time here.
Amazing. Beautiful location. Great service. Breakfast was incredible. Loved it.
VERY DANGEROUS ANANTARA HOTEL!
They have many broken tiles in the pool, I've got very deep cut on my finger.
No one provides first aid in any real way. For the first day i got only "sorry" from the team. For the next day they closed our bill in a restaurant.
I think, ok, I don't want to spoil our holiday and don't leave any feedback of this incident.
But now, six month later, everyday i see pretty distinct scar across my finger. You really made it a memory of a lifetime!
It could happen to your face, or your little child belly. Please be careful.
Dirty and poorly maintained. Sofa smelly and stains on it. Decking broken and not safe. Restaurant really dirty. 5 star price is a joke for this low quality
Positive: large room. Beautiful view. Quick response maintenance team. Awesome large couch. Tasty/well made cocktails. Good security. Friendly staff. Fully stocked Gym in premises.
Negative: water is murky yellow /dirty so when you fill jacuzzi it looks gross.
Jacuzzi not cleaned properly. When I turned on air jets, I got a large amount of dirt, specks, hair.
Pillow is big and comfy, however, the sleeping mattress itself has large sunken spaces. Not sure if it just wasn't flipped regularly or it's just really old.
Top floor restaurant is called 360 but it's only a 1 way view to the ocean (not a big deal, just thought I'd mention it).
Restaurant food is not good.
Breakfast is included but all meats come at a surcharge. Only eggs, noodles, rice, pancakes are free and unlimited.
Coffee was not good, I assume it's because of the quality of the coffee beans (but that's just my opinion).
In the website, it shows that the rooms have a nespresso coffee maker but when we arrived we only had instant coffee in our room. We were told that the coffee maker was not an option anymore... Would've been better if I had been told from the point of reservation because I love my coffee.
Movie theater is really bad. TV in the theater was old, pixelated, and broken (had a purple line going down the center of the screen).
We brought our own popcorn for the theater and decided to just watch a movie on our room since the TV was relatively better there. Sadly, there's no microwave and when we asked if they could microwave our popcorn for us, we were told "no outside food allowed"... I might barely accept this as reasonable if they had popcorn for sale or if we were trying to enjoy an amenity, but we were just trying to enjoy a movie in our bedroom...
Ocean View Suit
Anantara never disappoints me
Hotel staff are warm welcoming and sincere. Hotel offer different activities to attend every single day including making poetry etc.
Apart from the scenic surfing beach the resort next to.
I admire the food provided. Breakfast buffet is delicious with variety of food.
Highly recommended
Couldn't be any more satisfied than I already am!
The receptionists were really helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and well equipped, not to mention the view of the pool and the beach from my room balcony.
The scenery was beautiful and it was a relief to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment.
Looking forward to coming back here, when I have the chance.
