This property is so beautiful!! My husband and I stayed here for 4 days in March celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary and it was overall a great experience.

The service was very good, with attentive & friendly staff and the food was also very good with a good variety, loved the seafood BBQ - that was the best! But for me, the highlight was that infinity pool and those clifftop views, WOW!

I could have spent forever here, its an absolutely stunning resort in a very good location. There is so much to do in Uluwatu so it's a good idea to spend at least 4 - 7 days in Uluwatu. GREAT location.

The hotel does also have a shuttle bus and private drivers at the hotel so if you are wanting to venture out often the transport service is very convenient.

My husband and I stayed in an Oceanfront Suite with perfect views of the sunset over the Indian Ocean, absolutely amazing. Wish we had booked a plunge pool ocean front suite, but its ok, because our room was so close to the infinity pools.

I'd highly recommend this gem.

Best,

Mrs Tepe Travels.

Stay here for 3 nights. The overall experience didn t satisfy us. First, the lobby is quite dark when we checked in. Then the room also is very dark (we couldn t even read the room service menu very well). We stayed at the ocean view pool suite. 2nd day, when we asked the housekeeping to make up our room, dirty cups weren t changed, as well as dirty pool towels. And the room was very noisy & we can hear pretty clearly voices & conversations from next room. The maintenance pool & garden men shows up right in front of our pool balcony (even went into our balcony). Such a bad privacy. The pool also had many dirts floating on it.

This is our third time to Bali. We usually stay in Seminyak but decided to try Uluwatu Instead and wow this has been the most amazing experience. We stayed in a ocean front villa with pool and the room size is way bigger then we expected. The view from our balcony is magical and we even see monkeys from time to time. The service here at Anantara has been the best service we have ever experienced in Bali. The staff go above and beyond and my 5 year old son took a real liking to one of the chefs who gave him free chocolate ice cream on a few occasions whenever he would see him by the pool. The staff clean the room twice a day and bring Balinese cakes to your room every night as well as fruit. The staff here remembered all our names as well as our kids names. It feels very warm and humble, something we didn t get on any of our other trips to Bali.
The breakfast is great with a great view, you must order the crepes and French toast which is delicious!
The elevator wasn t working when we stayed however there is a 5 minute walk down to the beach via some steep steps and this walk is absolutely breath taking. We did it with our 1 year old and 5 year old so it actually didn t bother us that the elevator didn t work as it became a little adventure for the family. The impossible beach right under the hotel is the most spectacular beach we have ever seen, it is a slice of heaven, with not too many people. It s secluded with bright blue water and no waves great for children.
We would stay in the hotel again for sure!

We had a wonderfull ocean view villa where we stayed for two nights. Staff is very attentive (make room ready for the night by the time you return from diner). Breakfast was just awesome!! The infinity-pool is just stunning!! And make sure you visit the japanese restaurant, it s very entertaining. We had a great time, thank you!

My experience at Anantara Uluwatu was very disappo...

My experience at Anantara Uluwatu was very disappointing. Even though staff and hotel manager were apologetic for my poor experience, I feel the need to write a review to ensure the issues I experienced are addressed so that they won t occur to others.

I stayed here for 7 nights and arrived on Sunday just after 2pm. I was told that check-in time is 3pm thus our room wasn t ready. At this point I thought I had mistaken check-in time as 2pm from my booking confirmation. Once the check-in process was done, I waited for about another 30mins until my room was ready. When I checked my booking paperwork again, it showed that check-in time was actually 2pm as per hotel check-in standard in Asia.

I was starving by the time our room was ready as I hadn t eaten anything all day. I headed down to the poolside restaurant and ordered Mee Goreng as it s the national dish of Indonesia. It was extremely salty and tasted horrible. I grew up eating fish sauce so I m used to salty food, but their Mee Goreng was intolerably salty! I gave up on the poolside restaurant after that and moved on to 360 degrees restaurant. Whilst the Mee Goreng and Nasi Goreng were better here, all other dishes I ate during buffet breakfasts and dinners mediocre at best and sometimes inconsistent.

My biggest issue with this resort was the dramas I had with the toilet! It was blocked on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. That was way too many occurrences. Each time it happened, the staff member I spoke to apologised for the inconvenience and sent someone with a plunger to unblock. At no point did the resort consider changing rooms for me even after I had expressed my disappointment and frustration.

Another inconvenience that occurred during my stay was when I got locked out of my room after dinner on Thursday. The key suddenly wouldn t work so I was told to sit in the lobby and wait for an engineer to fix the issue. After waiting for about 30mins I was told my room was opened but the issue can t be fixed until tomorrow morning, which meant they could let me in the room but if I exit the room I won t be able to go back. They told me to let them know once I m out of the room in the morning so that the engineer can fix the lock. Again, just another apology for the staff member.

In addition to a blocked toilet occurrence on my last night, the power also failed. I woke up a few times during the night as it felt very warm. I noticed the aircon and lights were off when I needed to use the bathroom. The room was pitched black and I couldn t even call reception for help due to no power. My husband had to get help from a staff member at the lobby.
Lastly, a few other things that weren t so great. Wifi connection was poor and unreliable. The general female toilet on level 2 (lobby level) needs regular maintenance. The toilet was leaking and untidy on all occasions I needed to use it.

After I completed the check-out process and was waiting for my airport transfer, the hotel manager came to apologise and get feedback on my experience. He offered me a complimentary airport transfer, but I declined as my transfer with another company was already paid for. Unfortunately no amount of apologies can undo all the inconveniences during my 7 nights stay at this resort. It was such a waste of money and frustrating holiday.

2nd time staying here at Anantara Uluwatu. Slightly disappointed with the room, as the toilet had sewage issues. Bed is very comfortable. Bar at the pool area serves nice food. Impeccable views. Lift is available for a trip down to the private beach.

Could have been better if the resort is able to provide a free buggy services to drop off people just outside the resort. Resort charges 60k rupiah for a shuttle drop off outside. (Ps: Other resorts like W Hotel Semiyak have free buggy rides out.)

The hotel placed at the edge of uluwatu cliff. There are to many staircases from the parking lot, lobby, up to your room. Not to suitable for elderly people, but still could managable for family with kids.
Check in process was smooth, with somekind of welcome drink 'jamu'. Due to some problem we got our room upgraded from Ocean front pool suite to the 3 bedroom pool villa.
Room was big, got our own kichenette, seperate living/dining room with big tv and nice bluetooth speaker, it also got private infinity pool and mini garden.
Breakfast was ala carte, due to pandemic reason. Taste was not that good.

(+)
Beautiful scenery of sunset and ocean from the room.
Every morning the villa would be visited by the monkeys.
Room and bathroom was spacious.

(-)
Many stairs.
Lift access to the beach was off and still on maintenanced process.
Monkeys would steal some of your stuff/food if you're not careful enough.

Pool and restaurants are very nice. The ocean front rooms have excellent views and private hot tubs on the balconies. Beach access is limited. There is a glass no frills elevator from the pool level to the beach. At high tide there is no beach and waves can be crashing against rocks at the base of the stairs.

Problem:Too Many Stairs xO Not suitable for old people...and we can't swim at the beach behind anantara even when it's not that high cause there's corals everywhere but you can catch hermit crab there! :^>
But the beach view kinda cool when you're at the pool

Ocean view pool suite, actually not so clear to see ocean because there's an obstacle, but if you want to see ocean from your room, you could choose Ocean front suite, this room is very clear to see ocean. Overall the room was comfortable and clean.

Staffs are not experienced and not well trained, housekeeping rang bell in the morning when we were asleep for 10x, the restaurant forgot to tell us that the food does not come with rice, receptionist does not even know how to connect call to restaurant, ordered mosquitoes spray to receptionist as many mosquitoes in the room but never came, room says ocean front but barely can see ocean, room is a bit old, many mosquitoes not as nice as pic. Disappointing compared to bali s general hotel service standard. They put price 10mio per night with discount to 2mio, their hotel is like 2mio per night experience. Recommended if you don't expect excellent experience

The 74-room Anantara Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa is ...

The 74-room Anantara Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa is a modern luxury resort perched on a cliffside with gorgeous views over the Indian Ocean from most of its facilities, including a rooftop restaurant and beautiful infinity-edge pool. Spacious suites and villas offer stylish, contemporary decor and private balconies with outdoor soaking tubs, plus a duplex penthouse is available with a private pool and sundeck. The luxurious spa features a wide range of treatments including hair and nail services, and there s also a fitness center and yoga classes are offered. The property s cliffside locale, though scenic, also means that there are lots of steps to navigate throughout the grounds, and though there s direct access to a private beach, it s rocky and not always swimmable. For a sandy beach, travelers might want to consider another luxurious offering from the brand, the Anantara Seminyak Resort & Spa.

Just wow!! Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. We brought our 5 month old here for her first overseas trip, the resort were extremely accommodating and set us up in a lovely room with cot. Breakfast selection more than adequate and the dining room has beautiful sea views. One of the best infinity pools going around, and there's also a lift down to the ocean if you want to go surfing. Enjoy.

Bubble bath on the balcony watching the sunset with a glass of wine...brilliant!

Stayed here for a weekend. Great value for money. Everything was amazing! The first thing you notice and what sticks with you is the excellent and professional customer service. The staff here is pretty much what makes this place a 5 star hotel.

Everything was clean, ocean view room was super spacious and bed was super comfortable.

Recommend: Bubble in the jacuzzi, wine, seafood pizza and a sunset

This is an amazing setting for this hotel as you can see by my picture. However I do feel as if the resort rely on the location and the view to charge exuberant prices and fall very short on their eye for detail when it comes to the rooms and services.

The finishing's are poor to be honest, the lighting in the room was terrible and our room smelt like wet carpet our whole stay, which is very off putting when you pay so much.

We gave it 4 stars because the staff were lovely and the location and sunsets are amazing. Would be great for any keen surfers.
