Latest: It has been 3 days. Same issue everyday despite us asking so many times that the aircon problem should be fixed for good. Never done. Always last min when we couldnt go to bed despite being late in the night. Horrible experience. Absolutely ridiculous. PLEASE AVOID THIS RESORT AT ALL COSTS!!!!!

Very unhappy!!!

Just checked in a 3 bedder villa , ocean view. Quite a BIG disappointment. Run down place , very old and poor-maintained facilities , not worth the money (we paid quite a bit for this), quite hectic for families with young kids. Service is okay but expected a lot more for the overall feeling.

Couldnt sleep now cause the aircon is making irritating noises non-stop!!!

Anantara uluwatu was an unexpectedly incredible experience! The detail of the interior design is exquisite. The hotel is focused around the vast sight of the ocean, which is magnificent. The service and friendly hospitality is incomparable and everyone is always full of joy. The spa was authentic, enchanting and relaxing. Overall, an unforgettable experience

This place is insane. Never seen a view like it. Every single staff member knew our names. We had a problem with the start of our honeymoon (had to travel a day later) and they were so understanding/accomodating. We had room 643 - request it if you can! It's got a private pool and spa and other guests can't see you - it's completely private and the view is spectacular - I nearly cried upon check in. Other rooms with pools aren't as private. The food is amazing - breakfast was included for us and we ate at the pool bar, sea salt fire and the Japanese place, which was the best. All amazing. Please stay here you won't regret it! Nicest people and most beautiful place!!!

I wanted to give a surprise to my fiancee. I found out about the romantic dinner at the pool of the Anantaru Resort. It looked beautiful in the pictures. I expected one of the best nights in our lives.
Instead, we arrived there and the reservation was not in the place shown in the pictures. They changed our reservation to other random place in the hotel, and they charged us the same amount. I made the reservation just for the romantic view advertised but was disappointed.
The service and food was average at best.

Beautiful property. Rooms are quite spacious and mind boggling views from the patio as well from the pool. There is also beach which is accessible only by an elevator. They have an amazing spa and the resort is perfect for couples and for those who want a vacation away from crowd. Free shuttle to Ulluwatu Temple is also a bonus. Free Wi-Fi and free photoshoot are also some of the perks.

Amazing resort with stunning sunsets and surf. We felt spoiled the moment we arrived at Anantara Uluwatu, the staff were attentive and charming the resort is somewhat isolated which is nice, but if you are looking for nightlife you are probably better suited looking at resorts further north near Seminyak. The spa services were amazing, we had a peivate infinity pool in our room which was spectacular, but also visited the main infinity pool and were equally impressed. The food was fantastic and the grounds were amazingly well maintained. We absolutely loved our stay here and highly recommend it to anyone coming to Bali for R&R.

We arrived at the Anantara and it was under construction, having stayed before it was quite a shock upon arrival. The manager Ben came and met with us and went above and beyond for us, he was beyond amazing & hospitable. He created such an amazing experience for our group of 10, we were all so happy, and he personally checked in on us every day. The penthouse & villas are beautiful, Ben thank you so much for everything!

The views is the highlight of a stay here.

The views is the highlight of a stay here.

The facilities have seen better days from frayed towels , plenty of missing tiles in the pool and dirty hot tub jets it seems the finer details on the hotel have been missed.

On arrival the doorman was perfect , smiling and proactive but once you get to check in you are offered to help yourself to a welcome drink with no explanation of what it is , most hotels serve your drink to you. The lady was friendly though.

A special cake was brougt to us by the in room dining which was really nice but the napkin they served the cutlery with was dirty with what looked like wine stains underneath. A bit off putting.

Right outside the balcony there was some maintainece going on , so when we arrived the first thing we noticed out the room was the spectacular view then the empty books below and then all the equipment and dirty sneakers left by the workers.

An appology was made about the lack of amenities which we totally understand but if you have 2 ammenity boxes with only a shower cap and earbuds in , it may be better to just put 1 box out.
I'm assuming there was a Nespresso coffee machine in the room before because the complimentary tea (no coffee btw) box has instructions for the nesspresso machine inside the lid , again loosing on the fine details.

Service could be be better, around the pool there is no proactive service at all , if you want to order you need to hunt down a staff member in the empty restaurant.

We opted for dinner in 360 restaurant and ordered 3 dishes to share, they took over 30 minutes to arrive and with no appology for the delay until we highlighted it , and the excuse given was that the kitchen also services in room dining and there where alot of orders. The food was fine , nothing super special but acceptable.
If Manning is the issue with the new normal situation I would suggest reducing your menus to maximise satisfaction rather than trying to do 26 dishes slowly , maximise your efficiency with 10 - 15 dishes excellently.

Breakfast was as expected in any all day dining , acceptable food and decent coffee.

Overall the views are work every penny especially if you head down to the beach at low tide.
The hotel management should look at every room , staircase and seating from the guests perspective and take action to make sure it's at an international 5 star standard.
Service should be focused on guests and going the extra mile for those sales in areas where guests are actually going to rather than standing by in empty outlets .

Good luck

Anatara Uluwatu has breathtaking views to the sea from the south cliffs of Bali! The cons that the hotel has a lot of stairs and that the beach is filled with corals and its called the impossible beach! U need shoes and a surf table to go... Otherwise the hotel is nice!

Sorry for posting 3 stars..but that is what it is during my stay..i know during pandemic we must support each other.

But i cant enjoy my stay at anantara.
First thing first the Wifi at our room even cant upload small files. Or even open apps.. Idk what provider they used but ot worst even compare to internet at small rural city.

Second during pandemic cleanliness is sensitive to all of us.. The jacuzzi which is a very plus thing about the room. Buat when turn on the water..all thats is came out is a very stinky smell and dirty water.i have call the maintanance and they admit about it. And worst thing about my toes and my lower body part got a bad itchy till i cant sleep. Already capture it and report it to their staff but all their offers is compliment for free lunch and iced tea.

The third things but i dont report ,since i already tired, is that there electricity shock at their infinity pool. At the edge of the pool. I hope it is only hapened to me. And also the water drain very slow at their bath room i read it also happened before at other people review

But overall i apreciate their effort to keep running during this pandemic. But i think what happened to me should not happened to other people stay at Anantara Uluwatu.

I really can't enjoy my stay there.

Loved the location. Highly recommend the room with the private pool. If venturing to the Gili islands, I would recommend booking on your own and not through the hotel as we ended up paying almost twice as much as some of our fellow passengers because of "where we stayed', even though we had already paid an additional charge for transportation to the boat.

Disappointed that the elevator to the beach was broken but they did not inform us when we did the booking. There are many steps in the resort and it is not ideal for young kids nor the elderly with mobility issues. I reckon we had to walk 50 to 100 steps to get around the resort. Watch out for the kids esp as there are dangerous areas like low railings at the balcony of the villa. Breakfast buffet is okay, not too fantastic. Room service isnt great too. Best food probably at the poolside restaurant. There are mosquitoes in the room, beware.

That said the staff are responsive and friendly and put in effort to assist when requested. Views are beautiful too but it isn't a direct sunset facing.

Overall failed to meet expectations for the amount paid.

This resort is beyond amazing, stayed here for two nights and hardly move myself from their infinity pool. The foods were great and the selection of breakfast is more than enough. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Personal Transportation will be recommended

Stayed here during the Pandemic
The access to the Beach is Closed which is a huge disappointment for us

The Breakfast is ala carte now with good choices

The bedroom itself is really quite spacious
But it wasnt really soundproof, you can totally hear the next door music

Nice facititles that needed some upkeep. The staff were fantastic here and really helpful. But the room it self and the price you pay for it probably wasnt worth it to stay here. We paid over $500 per night to be here and had a pool and spa but they were not private. Most hotels we have stayed at that cost this much as well usually offer a complimentary afternoon tea or even a cocktail hour for guests. So we were disappointed that this was not offered. For the overall value would not stay here again.

A pretty suite resort hotel with very spacious rooms, out door jacuzzi; some come with private pools; also villas with 2 or 3 bedrooms with private pools. All room has a splendid view of the ocean. The swimming pools above the ocean shore are also great; a real nice place to relax. The breakfast is also good tho not a full buffet. One last thing, never open the door to the balcony in the morning cause there's a possibility of getting 'attack' by the monkeys..

The quality of food was good, and very pricey. The atmosphere was ok. But what you see on the website about this restaurant is not exactly as it looks. Dresscode - do not come dressed up even though it may seem to you that the restaurant is of such type, it is not! Do not expect the sunset view.

Amazing place..clean room, spacious, the view is breathtaking to the ocean, the bose speaker is very appreciatable, bathroom is clean and spacious (diff section for shower and toilet and 2 sinks), the jacuzzi is great. Overall, the place is amazing and so worth-it. Will definitely come back here soon for relax stays.

Great view of the ocean, just spectacular. All the staffs are friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet also very delicious. We really enjoyed our stay here. Be warned that the beach is not safe for swimming due to strong tides, but the cliff-top view right in front and above the sea is more than makes up for it.

The most nicest hotel I have ever been to! 5 stars is an understatement! My partner organised this penthouse for one night to secretly propose to me. The hotel had the best room available (Dewata penthouse) 3 room/ 2 bedroom penthouse available and upgraded us to that. We had three most amazing 5 course dinner with lobster overlooking the ocean.

We have already organised to have our wedding here because it doesnt compare to anywhere else! You do not need to think twice! Customer service is amazing and they even gave us the most amazing drink on arrival. They out decorations up for the proposal and flower pedals all over the bed. We will see you again soon

I didn't stay at the hotel, however the 1st impression was wow! Because the time you enter the lobby there's an ocean visible at infinity view! The hotel looked expensive but it's worth it I believe

All the hotel facilities included the room were not in good maintenance, dusty and there is a spider web in the cloth cupboard. The bed too soft and the sofa in the room smelly. The only benefit is the view. Is Not suitable hotel for older people too many stairs between the room and lobby also the pool

We had booked six nights in a suite and "private" pool with "sea view".

The room actually had a private pool, but the hotel did not mention that the room is located right at the public pool. Thus, the whole hotel as also the restaurant visitors could gape into our pool as also into the room. We had to permanently pull the curtains so that not everybody could look into the room. And what is the use of a room with a view to the sea?

Moreover, the room stunk and was humid. The whole hotel complex is dingy and aged. During the approach we even made some jokes when we saw the old bunker from a distance that this is the hotel. We were shocked, so our taxi actually stopped in front of this run-down hole.

We left after one night, the hotel did not want to give us a refund. Bookings.com then confirmed that there are many complaints about the hotel.

Big disappointment! A real dirty hole!
