I had the opportunity to intern with AMVC Management Services as a Swine Specialist Intern in their Swine Time 101 Internship for the Summer of 2018. I worked in the areas of daily care, weaning and sanitation, front end care (newborns), processing piglets, pregnancy checking, vaccinations, pig health, heat detection, proper artificial insemination procedures, flow of the farm, and other general misc. duties assigned. Truly, it was a family culture working for this company and I enjoyed my time as an intern.
In the past 4 years I ve worked for AMVC I ve learned so much and have had many opportunities and experiences with being a high school and college intern, swine specialist, and now being in their leadership program. AMVC leaders are very passionate about what they do and jump at the chance of spreading their knowledge. They have the family feel, the kind you want when working for a company.
They literally sent me a message on indeed saying they're going to put me on a do not hire list even though I've never worked there so they've obviously got something against people with disabilities don't apply here don't work here.
AMVC is a great company to work for. They are an industry leader in pork production, but still maintain a family feel. The farms I've been to still feel like a good old family farm and animal welfare is held to a high standard.
