I've been a customer for over 15 years! I've paid 150 to rent a tank every year. I've filled my tank as my one fireplace will burn. i called to order gas today. 4.50 a gallon with 2 other local companies called one at 2.85 and one at 3.05 respectively. Also I was told I had to pay a 140.00 for a serviceman to check for a leak, I still have 30 percent. So no leak, I called last year and was told I did not have a low enough to make a fill so I'm screwed either way. Tried to talk to someone who spoke English. Called p ladner at corporate to see if I could get someone that I could understand or better yet they could understand me. No luck. I asked one of the broken English people what I need to do to just stop the tank lease, I am told I have to pay a 100.00 disconnect fee plus a 299.00 removal fee for something I don't use except for the fireplace. What kind of business is this. So the only way I can get out of it is to sell my house is what one of them said. RIDICULOUS SO UNTIL I DIE I HAVE TO PAY 400.00 to remove it or 150.00 a year for something I don't use....... Buyer beware these people are SCAM artists

Avoid AmeriGas, their pricing is outrageous. We just got ripped off paying $4.989 per gallon plus charges for HazMat and Fuel Recovery on the delivery. We also had to wait about 10 days for the delivery. I just called another local propane company and their price is $3.39 per gallon.

According to the BBC, there is a lawsuit in Michigan against AmeriGas for similar issues.

My now wife, at the time she went to get gas, it was always Foust Fuels. Well Foust got bought out by amerigas. They sent a guy out and he filled up the tank, left the bleeder valve open, and all the gas went out. Told My darling to call a number and it would be refilled at no cost to her. Then when she called, thinking she will have heat in the dead middle of winter, no she has to pay for an entire new tank of gas. $500 5 years ago. So after not having the ability to put gas in the tank for the winter running with electric. Then finally being able to do so. She goes in to find there is NOW a RENTAL FEE TO SOMETHING FOUST NEVER DID. They completely ignored the part of AMERICAN VETERAN. This company is a disgrace to american veterans and woman. When I called being her husband they handed me to some outsourced person that proceeded to call me a liar, and APPARENTLY DOES NOT KNOW ABOUT SAID 2 SENATE BILLS IN THE BELOW SCREENSHOTS. This is just sad. this company is a joke.
