American Veterans Aid Review

My grandma passed away while waiting for the VA letter to arrive saying they got her application. I called and called and also emailed the American Veterans Aid office so many times trying to get some assistance following up with the VA. My case manager Daniel Caponetto must be missing in action. I am so frustrated that they do not help or even return an email or phone call. Many months later, I am now left trying to deal with the VA all by myself even though I paid this company $1500. I feel this was a scam. This company should be ashamed of themselves.

Walked me through the process step by step after going over their entire operation with me. The benefit is now being paid after they cut the time down from 1 year wait to three months. They always answered my questions and were very understanding. Great organization

While researching resources to help support my 94 year old mother, I stumbled across AVA. After looking into the background of the company and ratings by the Better Business Bureau I invested $1500 to particcipate in the process.
AVA personnel supported me every step of the way. After thorough telephone interviews I received completed forms and specific directions in the mail and via email. It took a few days to gather together all the documents, and it wasn't long before I had two packets of materials that I faxed to AVA. Again, I received support for every phase of the process.
The entire process took about 4 months, due to procedural delays at the VA.
I cannot thank AVA enough for their support. Venturing into the bureaucratic quagmire of rules and regulations that govern the VA can be daunting. I know I could not have been able to navigate the process without the help of the professionals at AVA. The staff there is always patient, caring and eager to help. They assign a key person to each case to assure consistent fofllow-through and personal care.
Best money I every spent.

American Veterans Aid helped our family obtain the VA Aid and Attendance benefit for our WWII veteran father. They were very knowledgeable, very-well organized, professional and effective, and they delivered what they promised. Once our paperwork was submitted in September, the benefit was approved by the VA by EOM November. Thanks AVA for your help and a job well done.!

American Veterans Aid was a lifesaver. My dad's caseworker was Angela who was very knowledgeable and patient in explaining the process to me. Everyone I spoke with at the organization was very professional. It took only six weeks after submitting the necessary paperwork that we received an approval. I know this would definitely not have been the case if we filled out the papers on our own. This organization knows their stuff. My mother in law passed away before any benefits were paid. American veterans aid would not refund any of the thousands it took.
My advice is to go to you local veterans representative and get the paper work yourself and fill it out. It s FREE. As a former veteran I was disgusted with this company. So where is the thousands? A lawyer doesn t charge that much for consultation.

It all happened so fast. This company will work with you to get paid as quickly as possible. I would not have been able to accomplish acquiring the financial aide my mother was entitled to without the help of AVA!

They start out great, then there are snags are they have one person doing to many clients. So I have had many issues and a slow return time on calls and emails. Very frustrating. They say three to six months. Not true.

Nasty lady on the phone who cannot provide any information and hung up the phone while I was asking a question. They are no help. If you have a question having to do with veteran compensation call this IRS. These people suck.

I highly recommend American Veterans Aid. The professional and streamline processing of the paperwork for the Veteran s Administration was invaluable. I could not have managed all the required documents and information needed by the Veteran s Administration without the assistance of American Veteran s Aid. Due to their due diligence, I was able to secure a benefit for my Mother, as a result of my Father s service with the United States Army.

They are a legitimate service. I have received the VA benefits with their help. However after the paperwork was complete and sent in the communication and follow up was not very good. It was very difficult for me to get through to the persons handling my case afterward. Once I got through I was promised a call back from the one of the supervisors who also I also have not heard back from.

Wonderful group of people who helped us secure the maximum A&A benefit for our Dad in less than three months. They helped us avoid delays and common mistakes that could have resulted in a lower benefit amount for our Koran war vet father. I would recommend AVA to anyone who wants to get the best result in a reasonable amount of time.

I have used the AVA twice now. Once for my dad and now for my mom. They have been amazing. They help with the application process, check to make sure all needed documents are included and if something is missing help acquire it. The completed application is reviewed by AVA legal team. Once I submitted the application both my parents received there first check within 3 months.

There s a lot involved with getting VA pension benefits and going the process alone can be quite irritating. The American s Veterans Aid and Assistance process help us obtain the max benefits for my father-in-law. There might be cheaper ways of getting the same results, but this was best for us.

Thus company was great to work with, we we're able to get much needed benefits for my father. Thank you so much.

I can't say enough good things about AVA and their staff. I was treated with the utmost respect, and all my questions and concerns were answered within 24 hours. My Mothers claim for VA Benefits was approved by the VA in less than 45 days! A testament to how efficiently the AVA handled the claim.

I cannot recommend the AVA enough. My dad is a WWII Marine and is 93. The AVA streamlined everything and we were approved in 60 days. Thank you AVA.

Do not trust these people. They lie to you about the veterans benifit program and suggest you to make poor finical choices. IN MOST CASES THE ASSISTED LIVING FACILITIES WILL DO THIS FOR FREE!!! In speaking with a V.A. attorney directly they drastically under estimates what you can have in assets. Got a refund from them. Awful experience.

Knew exactly what documents were required and completed the application perfectly so there was a greater likelihood of acceptance by the VA. Application was approved by the VA in about 6 weeks.

Good advertising, plan was good but follow up needs improvement. Communication between partners working on our account was lacking and phone calls frequently went to voicemail with no return calls. Emails usually got responses. Overall process was done in about 5 months.

Excellent customer service. Very responsive to phone calls and emails when we had questions or concerns.

AVA made it very easy for me to apply for benefits on behalf of my Dad. They took me through the process step-by-step and kept everything organized and flowing from department to department along the way and within the time frame we had hoped for. Truly, they are very experienced, very helpful and worth it.

We got our money from VA very quickly, however I feel that I had to stay on top of our representative. He mixed things up and the only way I could get his attention was going above him to a supervisor and then things happened quickly. If I had not been as organized as I was this would have been an ordeal.

Used them twice...once for Dad and then when he passed away for Mom as surviving spouse. For both applications approval occurred within 2 to3 moths of the VA confirming receipt of application.

My experience was okay. There a fee improvements.
1. The sales person should clearer when notifying potential clients in the interview that the caretaker portion is part of the max award. I understood it to be up and above the max award to the veteran or spouse.
2. The responses from the case manager needs to be quicker.
3. Be clearer on the expected date that the client will receive the review application from AVA.

Great folks to work with; made the application process simple.

After reading the glowing reviews of this organization, I expected more from what my family received from them considering the cost for their services. Their responsiveness to the customer leaves something to be desired, both electronically and via the phone, during the process of application. We found communication with them to be difficult because you were handed over to a different associate at different parts of the application process. The directives we were given were sometimes ambiguous and we had to have them explained in greater detail.
Our family was told the company had a team of experts who would prepare the application. Unfortunately, one of their experts dropped the ball and didn't place a "zero" in an appropriate spot on the application and our application was delayed. Attempts to discuss the matter with them (voicemail) were ignored and we are left to finalize the process on our own.
Our family does not recommend this organization.

No one should pay any organization to complete VA paperwork. There are hundreds of organizations out there that do it at no cost. This organization should actually be ashamed of themselves for the astronomical fees they charge.
