We have moved 15 times so we have a bit of experience with moving. This company was one of the more unprofessional ones we have used. We had a move from TX to HI. The pricing was in line with others we got quotes from but the people that they used to pack were lazy, slow and not good at it. They mislabeled boxes, packed unbreakable items in gobs of paper and breakable ones in just a sheet or two. They forgot items and had to come back with the truck a second time. The people that loaded were fine and the company here in Hawaii was awesome but the Austin packing crew was terrible. I would pass on using these folks and go with Unicorn.

ARMY PCS BEWARE!!!! They take 13 hours to pack a 3 bedroom house, they speak purely Spanish, they will re-pack your things including front loader washer/dryer ON TOP OF EACH OTHER. The supervisor Marcus will NOT answer your calls, They show up late, and they leave your home in shambles. They left our washer hoses in our home, and they will not move ANY batteries you have but will not tell you at all until YOU do walk around your house and look at all the things they didn't pack. Jimmy is incompetent at best, they broke everything from desks to plates with multiple boxes of HIGH END printers that just went missing. They are a nightmare and will show up late and wreck your PCS. CHOOSE SOMEONE ELSE!

Terrible experience. My wife and I recently moved from TX to GA because of work. American Relocation and Storage Systems packed our items in TX, and they did a terrible job. They stacked furniture on top of cardboard boxes, and 1000 miles of highway driving crushed the boxes and destroyed the furniture. >$4000 of nice furniture, bought brand new, now at a total loss. We will have to make due with our broken items until we are able to afford new furniture.

ARMY PCS DO NOT TRUST WHEATON....This company stole over 6000 dollars worth of jelwery from my home the day they boxed my household goods. I contacted the manager and made a police report the same day I realized my jewlery was gone. The employer went into my room and stole my jewlery box off a dresser that she was told not to bother. I Contacted Marcus the manager and he came out to my home to check the boxes for my jewlery box the next day. Not to mention this company missplaced my childrens 2 XBOX, 2 Playstations, sega nintendo 64 systems and over 50 games to these systems. They lost all of our brakets and screws to our furninture and could not set up our beds and dressers properly. This company misplaced our chriatmas tree and decorations, rugs, military gear and broken thousands of dollars worth of merchandise that can not be replaced. The manager Marcus called me and told me some of our gear was on the trailer in another state and he would try to fed ex it before Christmas but if he cant to file it in a claim. My jewlery was stolen, kids games and systems stolen, broken merchandise, missing property. This company is unprofessional and clearly hires unprofessional workers, theives and has incompetent leadership.

We had a very positive experience with American Relocation. Mark Huff scoped our job correctly, and the moving team was just that. They worked very well together. They used a lot of care in wrapping and padding our furniture, and they were careful of walls and corners on both the property we were leaving, and our new home. Moving is horrible, but these guys were motivational in their hard, careful work.

Just another example of why you should read reviews before using a company...we didn't and we're now worse off than we were before.

While the company was fairly quick in loading the stuff into their truck, there were quite a few things that were broken during the move not to mention stolen from our house. We haven't even fully unpacked everything so there's no telling what all was stolen/damaged/broken. When I first noticed that the company had stolen a dyson vacuum cleaner ($400) and a black and decker power drill ($100) I brought it to Mark Huff's attention. You would think that there would be a sense of sympathy that he would have but he took the route of saying that there wasn't any proof that the vacuum existed and that "power drills are easy to replace". His recommendation was to file a police report (which will not do anything - he knew that).

They did end up sending us partial reimbursement for the vacuum/drill ($200, I'm still out at least $200) and I've now noticed multiple things that were damaged during the move including but not limited to:
* wine rack ($500 // probably 100% ruined)
* master king size bed frame damaged ($500+ in repairs)
* probably more as we haven't unpacked everything yet

Another shady practice is their not-to-exceed quote - they high-ball a quote and see if you bite on it. If you do, there's very little chance that you'll come in under that quote even if you move 4 SUV loads of stuff in between the quote (as we did). Just a shady tactic that really speaks to the company as a whole.

Do what you want but this company isn't honest, isn't fairly priced and is clearly hiring the wrong type of personnel.

My advice? Do not use this company and tell your friends to avoid them as well.

Miserable experience, avoid American Relocation and Wheaton.

We moved from TX to AZ on July 1, 2016 and were leaving the country for our honeymoon on July 16. In March, American Relocation came out to do a walkthrough of our place for an estimate -- told us our timetable was no problem. We didn't hear from them with a pickup date & time until shortly before we were due to move. On the scheduled day and time (10AM), they're no shows. I called repeatedly, was finally told that their driver overslept. Movers finally show at 7PM. We lost the day and I missed a relative's funeral services.

We were given a window of July 5 - 15 for delivery. We're leaving the country on July 16. I make phonecalls every few days. "We're still working out the driver's schedule" I'm told. A week passes. Finally it's July 15. I'm given the driver's direct contact info. He's tied up 2 hours away. I call the DoT to file a complaint and learn that interstate moving companies have a full month after the final day of the delivery window to get you your stuff. If they have to store it? YOU pay.

I call the driver and beg him to show up as early as possible on July 16. We're flying out of the country at 12pm. Driver shows at 7. I help them unload. They've broken and lost furniture and paintings. I had to dig through their truck to find 15 boxes they'd stashed with other peoples' stuff. We make the flight. When we get back from the honeymoon we discover a final parting gift: we have a pantry moth infestation from our boxes' time in their truck.

Do yourself a favor: use someone else if you're moving to a different state.
