Because the organization literary goes out of its way , to help out individuals, who suffered a loss" such as fire" or a catastrophe, involving a flood or hurricane! In addition to that they have blood drives, this alone helps people, in need of blood, especially hard to obtain , certain types. They is a valuable tool in replenishing our most needed blood supply, which helps those in need. And let us not forget the countless number of volunteers who work for the organization , hour after hour , to help out , when needed, without questioning anything.

Visited for a blood drive and appreciate their health and safety procedures, including temperature checks at the front entrance and several areas for the blood drive in order to provide ample spaces for social distancing. Friendly and experienced staff make blood donation easy. Anyone who can give blood should do it!

The facility is spacious and clean. Parking is easy and plentiful in their lot. The location is easy accessible by the CTA Blue Line train or the Damen Avenue bus.

The recpetion staff is kind.

The training staff are thorough, very knowledgeable, and are friendly personalities in the training sessions.

I earned my Adult/Pediatric First Aid/AED/CPR certificate here. I thought the training was useful and relevant to my needs.

When my children and I lost our apartment due to fire Red Cross came but missed my family. I waa a single mother. I was living paycheck to pay check. The kids were toddlers. They knew there were four units. The other tenants had renters insurance. I called the next day. They said it was too late to help me that it is a service offered at the sight of the fire. They missed me. They let us down. They failed my family. I cannot support red cross, sorry.

I visited this Red Cross Chapter to teach an instructor CPR course. The building was closed to the general public due to the COVID-19 situation, but the staff that were there to assist with our needs were very polite. The building had health screening checkpoints in the front entrance with a volunteer there to greet visitors & assist with the health screening questions. They also were able to provide directions to people coming off the street while needed emergency assistance. The building was clean and very modern/professional looking.

Training is Great! Very hard to find the parking on this place. It is difficult to get a parking spot for all the times. If your in this region, you must start atleast 3 Hours before from your destination (wherever you're it doesn't matter) and than only your able to make your training on time. Otherwise you will miss it and the day will be gone. That's my Experience.

Too big, too bureaucratic. In recent years, the Red Cross' fundraising and administrative expenses have been way more than their management has stated publicly. They spend additional money on "management and general" expenses, which includes things like back office accounting. That means the portion of donated dollars going to actualy needy people is low.
