We had to participate in a car signing because of COVID, and ended up signing one of our papers wrong because we didn t have anyone going through them with us. They said we could honk if we had questions, which we did, but didn t realize the paper about wire transfer was for our big payment. We thought by the wording that it was future funds (if any). They did not question what we had selected, which caused a huge check to be bounced around and payment to take a week because of the holidays. I know a lot of this is just bad luck, and when it comes down to it, our fault, but it all could have been avoided if we had someone helping us go through the documents...which has been the case every other time we have bought or sold a house with different companies. Just wish they would have helped better, or at least made sure about the big funds and how to send them before sending us on our way.
