Awesome patio space with good drinks and food. Highly recommend the swatchos and picklebacks!

Love American ice company! Friendly staff, good beer selection and fun picnic tables out front. Swachos are a must!
Nice place, laid back atmosphere, and reasonable prices.
Very relaxed place with good food and drinks. The kitchen is open late and probably some of the best BBQ in town. Drinks come in mason jars which I could do without.
This place is good. Has terrific swachos (swine nachos) It can get packed and can be somewhat douchey but they have good beer
Really fun bar that screams out hipster! All of our drinks were served in reused glass jars, which was a cute touch, and the beers on tap were nice and crafty. We ordered some sort of pork nachos appetizer which was the epitome of moreish (as in, the more you eat it, the more you want more). The inside had this reused industrial feel to it, and was a big open space that's perfect for seating big parties or just for an intimate meetup. Choose this place if you need to restore your hipness levels or impress whoever you're meeting
The swanchos!!! Epic pulled pork and queso over chips. I don't know what it is but the combined ingredient is even Better than all of them alone! Also, grilled cheese +tomato soup is pretty good. The tomato soup is spicier than most, but delicious.
I thought we had the best BBQ nachos in TN.... I was wrong, they are right here.
Delicious food and a great ambiance. The service and unpretentious beer selection.
Great laid back vibe. Lovely outdoor area for summer/mild winter days.
Horrible service. Took 20 minutes to get our check and we were forced to pay a 20% gratuity because we have 4 friends. Won t be back.
Typical new DC bar. Attempts to give off a divey, neighborhood vibe, but that's tough to do when your beers cost $8.
Very busy, but great for people watching before the shows at the 9:30 Club.
Super low key and chill environment. From the outside in you can tell it's a chill spot which was very much appreciated the night we went. Had no intentions of turning it up at all. Bartender was cool an the scene was a mix of trendy and professionals young and mature. I'd recommend a return or a first try.
This is a great drinking bar, good environment, good outdoor seating. It can be loud and busy in the 6-9 p.m. range but still worth visiting. You have to get swatchos.
It's a cool spot, but gets too crowded, and personally nothing really sets it apart from other bars.
My Lord had a splendid time, the wenches were to his liking, and the mead was delightful. The black plague does not touch this humble establishment!
It was louder than usual on Saturday night around 7pm, but still managed to hear my friends speak. Had the veggie chili, cornbread, and pickled veggies, all of which were good. It was kind of cold, so don't expect a super warm cozy place when you show up.
American Ice was rightfully popular on Saturday night. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options. The prices are reasonable and the drink service was prompt. As a wine enthusiast, I would have preferred to have more options to choose from. The industrial decor and open concept enhance the atmosphere and overall experience at the bar.
Barbecue place slightly hidden behind a wall. Almost walked past it, if it wasn't for the music we wouldn't have noticed it. The brisket sandwich and queso dip and chips were what we expected, they also have a good beer selection.
Love this place. Good prices for DC and the nachos are really really really good.
Great experience the staff are awesome they make u feel like family
Great patio and good beer selection. Can get super crowded on nice day
Love this bar. Add it to the list of must goes. American Ice stays open until 2 no matter the traffic. The ambiance is great. I will frequent here again when I'm in DC.
I go here before every concert. Never a bad crowd in here. Always nice. Great pulled pork.
American Ice is a little oasis of simplicity in the heart of the city. There's a great beer selection (I can always count on them for some Blood Orange IPA) accompanied by an unpretentious hipster vibe. Regarding food, we tried the swachos and enjoyed them as a nice snack.
Small draft beer service but the ~6 to 7 drafts are SOLID. Food is amazing. Pet friendly and a great outdoor place to hang out with friends. Very pet friendly.
Almost always overcrowded on a nice day. Lines for the restroom and the bar are entirely too long.
Definitely a hip bar with some great patio space (heated as well). Tried their milk stout and the grilled cheese. Their food menu mainly consists of southern comfort food, with a few twists. I'm coming back for both the food and beer. Great for large groups!
Great vibe everytime I come here. Make sure you get an order of the Swatchos!
Fun little hole in the wall bar in the neighborhood.
Very loud when busy. Not great if you want intimate conversation. Food is good.
AIC is great. Joe Love is the best bartender in DC.
The design of the bar is nice. The food and beer are good, but rather expensive. The deal-breaker is the fratty crowd at night.
Nice place but dominated by young population and limited space especially in winter when outside sitting is not possible
Awful food but nobody comes here for the food. A man broke a glass next to me at the bar and although the bartenders were told, 10 mins later I'm stepping on broken glass. When I reminded the bartenders that me and everyone around me is stepping on glass, the bartender responded, "We're a little busy if you didn't notice. You can go somewhere else." I wasn't demanding a drink, I was reminding them that myself and others are a liability standing on broken glas. Based on the response, the bartenders could not care less. Def not coming back which isn't a huge loss because this place is more a headache than anything else. It used to be the only place to go in the area, now go to wet dog or literally anywhere else.
Brisket. Smoked everything. Cheese liquid homemade cheese. Pickled beets. Beer in mason jars.
My favorite spot in dc. Get there early to catch the bbq
I came in, had one drink, and the bartender cut me off for being "too drunk". Completely unreasonable. Literally the worst bar experience I had in D.C. I'll never go again .
Great spot with outdoor seating including heaters in winter. Smoking is allowed outside be aware. Gets crowded but good atmosphere with good beer selection and good food.
Cool little place, good selection of beer and drinks with everything served out of mason jars.
Great outdoor space for drinks when it's a reasonable temperature outside: kind of like an enclosed biergarten. Hip people, young crowd, all I had were beers son can't comment on any mixed drinks. About as good as you can expect from a DC bar in a hip part of town.
