This company is a liar they never pick up the trash but yet they still send the bill home. Worst company definitely canceling my account with the!

Service: House/garage cleanout

The community I live in uses American Disposal Services and they are THE WORST. If I could give zero stars I definitely would.

They use the claw trash truck on Mondays, which is a mechanical arm that takes the trash can and empties it. Well, the claw dropped my trash can into the dumpster and now I am out $80 due to this. I called and spoke with a representative who was able to confirm my trashcan was erroneously trashed. He said he would have a replacement sent to me.

That never happened. I called today to inquire and was informed that there were no notes of my phone conversation. I do not recall the individuals name because I was working while on the phone. I was informed they will not replace my trash can because of this.

Super cool that you have chosen to use a machine that can accidentally drop my trash can, yet not be responsible to replace it?? Even better is when I tried to call them after 5pm (because I have a job that doesn't end until 5:30pm), I cannot reach anyone. There isn't even an option to leave a voicemail. The recorded voice tells me their office is closed and hangs up. Another indication that ADS does not care about customer service. They are simply benefiting greatly from an industry that will always be needed.

I called ADS about a recycle pickup. The customer service person, could not fully answer my request but said she would get back to me. Within a couple of hours she was able to honor my request. I appreciate the courteous manner in which my request was handled.

The actual trash/recycling pick up is fine (although they did miss pickups on a near-weekly basis during peak covid - that was understandable). However, their customer service and billing is horrible. They change rates without notice, they've stopped/delayed service without remedy, they removed services that we already paid for, and the list goes on. We are looking into other providers. I recommend staying far away from American Disposal until they get their billing & support in line, which seems doubtful at this point.

American Disposal has some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. From the truck crews with general bad attitudes and a don't care mentality to the customer service agents who cant get a transaction correct.

First my recycle bin disappears and I contact them which was a pain for a replacement and never received it to this day going on a year now... I just started using a plastic pale market recycle! I guess I will call again...smh

Crew breaks my dumpster wheels and it takes three weeks for a replacement, again calling several times to confirm delivery.

Scheduled a bulk pick up and and they confirmed for 9/3/21. I moved a couch, dresser and some small chairs to the curb and they did not show up and of course no one contacted me. Maybe they are coming Saturday 9/4/21, and while outside it rains and again they don't show. Now with it being labor day weekend I have to move the items to my garage. I called them several times and of course no answer over a week later.

This morning was the last straw which leads to this complaint. The trash cans that align my community street are for the community. There is two cardboard boxes on the trash can and trash in the boxes. The crew throws the box to the side of the trash can, pulls the bag out but leaves the box with the trash inside it. I happen to be getting in my car and I ask the guy can he throw the box with the trash in the back of the truck. He says no because card board is recycle material. I tell him its trash inside of it, chickens bones and other items, really? So your going to leave it here to blow over the neighborhood and attract wild animals? He looks at me and drives off, I took the box and trash with me and put it in the dumpster at my job.

This company's employees need some serious coaching on professionalism, awful service!

The company doesn't follow the schedule that was given to the customers. They generally picked up at the time and the date they wanted to do. Always missed something i.e. either the yard waste or trash which they supposed to pick up weekly. I don't think this company care about their customer service at all. I've called in 4 times within the past 7 days to get my trash, and yard waste to be picked, they promised to do that within 24-48 hours but that never happened! Very poor service!

Our original disposal company was bought out by American disposal. We were bummed but we gave American a chance before we made our judgment. Unfortunately, they refused to pick up trash bags that weren t in the trash can. Customer service said they have that right. Okay, no problem. We made sure everything was in the cans. The next trash night they would only pick up one trash can of two. Again, we call customer service and she couldn t care less but says she would put it in the notes and the next trash night they would for sure pick up both. Next trash night rolls around and we watch them from our doorbell pick up one trash can again and leave. We call instantly and 2 hours later they come back to pick up the second can. They also leave your garbage cans in the middle of the street and their timing to pick up is extremely inconsistent. They can come anywhere from the early morning until 3pm. There were times that we missed them because of this. We switched to Cardinal disposal and we have nothing to complain about. They do their job, very respectful of your property and very consistent in the time they pick up. If they service your area I really recommend switching to Cardinal disposal.

Hands down, the worst refuge company I ve ever dealt with. They consistently miss trash pickups, the drivers are beyond rude and disrespectful, they leave trash on the street after supposedly picking up the trash, the list goes on. They have a monopoly on community HOAs in the area, so it s difficult to switch to another company. However, there is no monopoly on terrible refuge services in northern VA, all of the major players have similar reviews. Short of taking the trash yourself to the nearest transfer station, you have no choice but to deal with these horrible companies.

We have used American Disposal Services as our trash service for 12 years now. I'm not usually driven to leave reviews but I saw they only have a 2.2 star review, and we personally have had a good experience. For all 12 years they have been extremely reliable for us. We've only had one minor complaint in 12 years (they didn't pick up some extra trash bags that were outside of our trash can when we had extra trash- we submitted a complaint and it was VERY QUICKLY addressed, and we've never had a problem since). In 12 years, I think they've only ever missed 1-2 service days (for which we received email alerts notifying us) - they've been punctual and professional. Even during COVID when many trash companies' service became very spotty and I read on community forums that several didn't show up at all, our trash service was strong and consistent - they never missed a day. We maintained insurance on our bins and had to have them replaced 2 or 3 times, and they always did it very quickly and without any trouble. I pulled up their contact information today because we're moving and I'll be switching service to our new home, without hesitation. Thank you American Disposal Service and all of your employees for your dedicated service and for helping make our trash service smooth and seamless. Our family is grateful for your hard work - we know your job is a tough one and we appreciate you.

I just saw one of their trucks rumbling through a residential area belching black smoke, so they sure rate low on social responsibility. To the owner, have some concern for our kids future. You do not own the atmosphere. Fix your trucks so that are not so harmful to the environment.
