You want it - they got it.

All kinds of rubber, latex and raw material (styrofoam, EVA, acoustic plates, ...). You won't find for example - rubber bands - but you'll find what you need to make them or a better material than that.

Place is a bit dusty - but what can you expect, it's a rubber shop.

Pay attention to the opening hours in the website.

I purchased specific sized foam over 4 years ago and called to replace 2 weeks ago. The team remembered my order and duplicated it to perfection! Great customer service and price!.

I always like coming here I've been coming here for years and the people that own it and work it are always very professional and very courteous and the friendliest people you could find pretty much everything you need in rubber some plastic and the prices are great if you need to do a small project or very big project they can always accommodate you and they will try their best to help you in any which way that you need this is one place I will be always go to for everything that I need in rubber Canal Street has changed so much over the years and not for the better but this one place stays the same and I love that about it the only thing that changes is getting more inventory on new products which is great

I'm a repeat customer to this place as they've helped me on a number of occasions now. My first purchase was a roll of flooring to use for a home gym which was excellent quality and well priced compared to what I had found online. It was also cut to size based on what I needed. My most recent purchase was some rubber floor padding to absorb some vibration I was having with my dryer unit. I called and spoke to Matt, explained the issue I was having and he immediately was able to determine a helpful solution to the problem.

This is a really amazing family run business that will help you improve or solve any of your rubber/foam needs.

Great place! I'm a seamstress and I use their foam for cushions for my clients, they are very well priced and can cut to your exact dimensions. If they don't have it they can order it and it comes in quick. Matt is super helpful, I was able to email him all the info and he is very responsive and put everything together for me. Highly recommend this place!

I went in for a cube shape foam for my cosplay and found what I was looking for(kind of by accident) and paid a reasonable price.
The staff was very pleasant, cooperative and patient with me.

We went in to buy fommy (I don't know if it's written like that), but we couldn't because we didn't reach the minimum to pay with a card, but it took a long time to attend you at the checkout, and no one approached us to ask if we were looking for something.

This place is Mecca for LARPers, they sell the best foam for making shield and swords.

Really great experience! I came into Canal Rubber looking for foam to make some new couch cushions. A team of 2-3 guys helped me put together cushions for just the right feel I wanted (soft in front, harder at the back). They even helped put the cushions into the covers I'd brought, and sewed up a tear in one of them, free of charge. Will definitely return for my next project.

I had such a great experience here! The staff were all very helpful and knowledgeable! As a novice when it comes to rubber and foam, they were able to help me figure out exactly what I needed for a project. Definitely coming back!

I lived nearby in Tribeca and would visit this place often when I was building props for fashion shoots. I also bought some great this sound insulating rubber for my apartment floors. I come here for my bagpipe stoppers
( 1.2) tubbing for my bagpipe blowpipe, and other crafts and projects I have going on. These guys are truly professional and have it all. Instead of wasting your time driving all around town, just come to one place and start your project. My best project here was the replacement of my 6 inch Mylar tubbing that was noisy and cheap and replacing it with 6 inch rubber tubbing that was ribbed for my hydroponic grow lights. They not only looked great, but I never had a tear because they were well built. They were not noisy like the Mylar because the inside was smooth. If only indoor growers knew of this trick..

Unpatient and unfriendly, when it comes to telephone advice service or information

If only more businesses were as kind, honest and courteous to their customers!!! I stopped in earlier today to make a purchase and was helped by the owner, Marty, as well as another gentleman (whose name I regretfully did not get). They both were patient with me as they tried to find exactly what I needed for my specific demands. Highly recommended!!!!

Marty and Matt have been punctual, quick and very well priced every time I have been their customer. Their knowledge is extremely valuable when it comes to finding that one material you can't name and you really need for your project.

Very helpful staff. These guys really know their stuff. I needed an odd type of thin upholstery foam for a pet project of mine, and not only were they able to source exactly what I needed, they cut it into perfect pieces for me.

Canal Rubber is one of those classic New York City companies that specializes in one thing that contributes to what makes this city amazing. We came in needing more firm foam for our banquette cushions and they were very helpful in determining what would work best for us.

I recently got an anti-fatigue mat for my kitchen from canal rubber. My new mat feels wonderful when I'm cooking, baking or washing dishes. The staff at canal rubber was so warm, knowledgeable and helpful! They made the whole experience a true pleasure! Can't wait to work with them again.
