I live at Amber Court Assisted Living. It's clean and the rooms are nice. It's handicap accessible and there is street and garage parking nearby. The staff is friendly and the food is good. They take Medicaid and Medicare. Local shopping and restaurants.
EVERYONE BEWARE: Cops are constantly in and out of this place because residents walk out. They have NO FRONT DOOR SECURITY! THERE IS NO PROTECTION FOR RESIDENTS WHO HAVE DEMENTIA OR JUST PLAIN DO NOT WANT TO BE THERE! Please, please, PLEASE get a more secure place for your family. For $3000 - $4,000 a month this place is NOT WORTH IT. If you have family in this place TAKE THE TIME NOW to ask them how do they feel where they are? Ask them if they have any problems with any of the staff, ask them if they get the help and attention they need, please take a minute to question it. Who treats them well? Who ignores them? Get some names and bring it to the attention of the people in charge. Post it online. Make ppl aware. This place is still in business likely because most of the residents are unable to stand up for themselves, which is sad. so PLEASE take the time to do a little investigating. Thank you.
Amber Court of Elizabeth has been a blessing to me and my family. It makes me sad to see ignorant people that doesn t ask questions post negative reviews. From the moment I walked in I was told that they don t have a Dementia unit nor that they have a lock down unit. They use a wander guard system to alert the receptionist of confused resident near the door but those who like to go out and are not able are not accepted there. My mom was resistant when she first moved there and now I can t even get her to come home for the holidays. She made new friends and the staff is awesome. The management staff is so helpful. I have see. Things I don t understand and at the moment might not like, but once I speak to someone, things get clear right away. Yes, I see cops there often, but they are there as part of a program Elizabeth town has to keep the neighborhood safe. It made sense when I asked because they do sign a form at the front desk every time they go. Which is 3 to 4 times a day. The residents are free to come and go as they please as long as they don t have a cognition problem. The facility is beautiful and clean. They are very affordable and take Medicaid from the beginning which is very rare. My mom loves the place and she is very happy there. My family is very happy also. Amber Court staff is awesome. 5 Stars don t do them justice. I will give them a 10.
I am the Representative of a former senior who lived at Ambor Court in Elizabeth but has since passed on. I feel compelled to comment and congratulate, Ambor Court on providing such great service that far exceeded my expectations. The staff was very attentive, friendly and professional; from the director down to maintenance. I was kept abreast always and every time I visited, I would see the level of care, and respect given to all that lives there. The facility was clean and well ran. The nurses were attentive, kind and took the time to know each the residents. There is activities daily for residents as well as trips for those able and interested. Overall, I felt comfortable and at peace with the decision in choosing AC. If assisted living is an option, I STRONGLY and HIGHLY recommend Ambor Court of Elizabeth. I was made very comfortable in knowing my loved one was safe, protected and cared for while still allowing for independence. Great Job!!!!!!!
My husband's mother lives at Amber Court. We have had nothing short of a great experience! She was welcomed with open arms into the AC family. She loves living here! She is well cared for, treated with dignity and respect and allowed to live in her "own world" instead of being forced to live in ours. She is social and active each day and always says she is happy here! What a blessing the AC staff has been to me and my husband. They have made us feel welcome as well. We love the communication they share with us, about my husband's mother as well as the events of the whole unit. They have such patience with the residents and treat them like they are their own grandparents. It's very touching to watch the interaction between the aids and the residents- the look on their faces and the look in their eyes. Such care, such love. In short I wanted to recognize the whole Amber Court unit staff for their dedication, support and love for the residents who live there!
Best Assisted Living and Home Care out there. And its in a very convenient area. There is so much to do, and you will never be bored there.
