First i would like to point out that i understand business needs and their low biddings to get the job. That being said, I was told to come in for an interview today and received an experience i will never forget.
I show up, was asked to fill out an application (even though the agency that sent me already sent it) then i get called to interview. The lady conducting the interview seemed very bothered about something, but i just brushed that off, it was probably because many candidates have came by and claimed they had experience and failed the weld test.
Everything seemed to go well until the interviewer saw that i checked off sundays and saturdays off the availability list. They told me the working hours this position required, 12 hour shifts 7 days a week. What bothered me the most was that if i were to refuse or deny just ONE sunday, they said they can fire me (it was a sign that they expected their workers to commit to the company than their own personal life).
I told them that i was not able to dedicate MY WEEKENDS (due to business & personal reasons), then they responded that it will not work out, and that i cannot be the ONLY one to have weekends off (whatever that means, didnt know there was a requirement or a privelage to have weekends off).
If the job paid a lot more, then yes i would have accepted the role, but im not going to work myself to exhaustion while receiving a low wage, not sure what type of people they are employing here, but there ARE better jobs out there.
