Founded in 1914, Alpha Kappa Lambda (AKL) is a national fraternity with over 30 active chapters across the United States. The PA Eta Colony at Penn State University Park was established in 2015 and has quickly become one of the most respected and active fraternities on campus.
At AKL, we believe that brotherhood is more than just a word – it's a way of life. Our members come from diverse backgrounds and majors but are united by our shared values of leadership, scholarship, character, and service. We strive to create an inclusive environment where every member feels valued and supported.
One of the unique opportunities offered by AKL is our focus on personal growth through leadership development. We provide our members with training and resources to help them become effective leaders both within the fraternity and in their future careers. Our alumni network includes successful business leaders, politicians, athletes, artists, educators – all who credit their time in AKL as instrumental to their success.
But AKL isn't just about professional development – we also know how to have fun! Our social events include mixers with sororities on campus as well as themed parties like "AKLuau" or "Broomball Bash." We also participate in intramural sports leagues like flag football or basketball.
