During a home purchase we used Alpha Environmental for the radon, tank search, and sewer scope. They were very professional and communicative about the inspection results.

This is a great, full-service company that we used for the required inspections for our new home prior to closing. They were friendly, knowledgable, and worked with our schedule to complete in a timely manner.

We used Alpha Environmental on two houses we were considering buying. Thanks in part to their findings from the first house, we made the difficult decision to withdraw our offer even though we loved the house. We found another house which we actually like better and our "go-to" company was Alpha Environmental. They performed the requested inspections and gave it a clean bill of health. Thanks to Alpha we were very close to making a big mistake. I should add that they did not advise us in anyway, just gave us the facts. I would not hesitate to use Alpha Environmental again should we have the need and I would heartily recommend them to anyone that needs testing done for old fuel tanks, radon, a functioning sewer line or any other of the myriad of tests they offer. Hired Alpha to remove a residential oil tank they had decommissioned for a previous owner years earlier.

Big job with heavy equipment that took twice as long as they expected because of the tank depth. Crew was super careful and respectful and finished the work impeccably for the original quote despite the complications.

Alpha wasn't the least expensive quote we got. However, we wanted a knowledgeable professional, and that's definitely what we got. We had them do a few tests on an old home we bought to live in with our small kids. I wanted to know where asbestos and lead paint might be, so that we could make responsible abatement choices during renovations.

The employee who came out to do the testing was a total pro. And he was spot on when he guessed which tests would come back negative and positive. Super impressed, would definitely use again!

Alpha decommissioned my HOT in April of 2018. They answered any question I had about the service and were up front with what the costs could be with the decommissioning process. They scheduled the work very quickly and once the work was completed I could barely tell they had disturbed any ground. Very professional throughout the whole process.

I got a quote from Alpha Environmental for a sewer replacement in May of 2017, as part of my due diligence for purchasing a home. I contacted Christian from Alpha in July 2017 to ask what the timeframe was to get the work done.

I started trying to contact him again on August 2nd. After repeatedly ignoring my emails and phone calls, I called the Alpha office, and after being transferred around I was told that there was no permit, and that nothing had ever been filed for me. I asked for a price reduction due to their mistake, and they did not get back to me until September.

The next person that was put on this job was Erick. The company has since told me that sewer is not his speciality, and he made a lot of mistakes. He oversaw a job where the company ran small tracked machinery in the rain over my neighbor's property, repeatedly spinning the treads. Large troughs were dug in my yard and the neighbors. Usually contractors put down plywood for this, but Alpha did not take any care to preserve the property. Erick then sent me a quote for an additional $16,000 to dig to the center of the street to repair the job so it would pass the city inspection. When I called him on the phone, he told me that the additional $16,000 (in addition to the $11,000 I had already agreed to) was my only option, and there was no other way to fix it. He also told me that the issue wasn't with their drilling, so it wouldn't be covered under the first bid. I had ClogBusters and Sanitech out to look at it, and they both said that it was clearly a drilling issue, and that the way to repair it was to trench up the driveway and re-lay the last few feet of sewer line. I shared these opinions with Erick, and he did not answer me.

Then, MONTHS later, in December 2017, I received a call from Matthew, who wanted to know why there was still a permit on file for my property. I told him the whole miserable story, and he said he would get back to me. He also promised that it would be different, and they were committed to getting it right.

Shortly after, I was CCd on an email from Phil Brewer, the President of Alpha Environmental. He had taken it upon himself to edit Matthew's email, changing the language to make it clear that Alpha didn't take responsibility for the job or the damage. The leadership of Alpha Environmental is not invested in the integrity of their employees.

While all this was going on, the holes in the front and backyard from drilling were still there, and the backyard one was open. It also settled, so there is damage to a walkway, and to the border around where the hole was dug. The whole area is still a spongy morass.

When John dug up the driveway to repair the pipe, he laid all the concrete that was taken up against my other neighbor's dry-stacked rock wall. The neighbor took it up with me, and when I called John, he told me that it wasn't him, that it was the old pile from the first crew, and he would never. When I took this up with Matthew (since it was very, very clearly the new pile) his attitude was 'we're doing all this work, what do you want?' So, again, your neighbor's property is not at all of concern to Alpha.

I guess it's fixed. It passed inspection, and the men who came out to do the concrete work on the driveway were nice and really great to talk to. Literally every other person from Alpha Environmental has been an untrustworthy nightmare.

They said they would have someone come out and look at the damage to the back walkway after I paid the invoice. I have not heard from them since I paid them. I don't expect them to come back. It is now February of 2018, nine months after my first quote, and I regret ever contacting this company. My sewer is currently functional, but the lies, the runaround, the email from the president of the company trying to take back his employee's email, and just the general disdain I've tolerated every step of the way is awful. Hire anyone else. Dig it yourself. Anything but Alpha.

Great experience with Alpha. The staff was polite and professional, easy to work with, fast response and did good job. I would hire them again.

Recently I became the Trustee to a relative's estate in The Gorge. When selling one of the houses, it was discovered that it had an abandoned oil tank buried in the back yard. Oregon has very tight laws regarding these items. Not knowing where to go or what to do, I was steered towards Alpha Environmental. In my experience in the business world, they are surely one of the most courteous, prompt and professional associations I have ever met. What could have been a highly stressful and contentious situation was completely taken care of for me. Worth the price to deal with such good people.

The gentleman who was doing the scan had done research on the neighborhood and had an abundance of knowledge on homes from certain decades. This was very interesting during his visit, but also provided lots of insightful information on our home and what to expect from other aspects of the home, such as our plumbing. The level of experience brought to the visit is impossible to miss, they offer an expertise in whatever work they seem to be doing.

Your report recommended actions, but not the kinds of people who work
on Carbon Dioxide problems. This would have been a big help. I still have not found any one to fix the problem.

I give Alpha Environmental my highest recommendation! The truth is that NOBODY wants to deal with the replacement of an old oil tank. It is terrifying to think about what might be found and what might be entailed in its removal and cleanup. The potential for being ripped off and entangled in an endless fight with the DEQ looms large. Fortunately, I was referred to Alpha Environmental, and they resolved my oil tank problem with speed, efficiency, and thoroughness. The price was very reasonable, the process relatively painless, and the outcome highly successful. I give Alpha Environmental my endorsement as an excellent company in terms of their efficiency, graciousness, and trustworthiness! I contacted Alpha Environmental Services by phone to do some work at my mom's house. I live 4 hours away. They were incredibly helpful and went to work and got the job done right away. I was able to conduct all of our business over the phone which was such a help to me. They are VERY good people and I really appreciate the way they were willing to do business.

We had radon mitigation performed by this company. If you live in the Salem area, expand your search of licensed providers beyond 3R construction in the radon game. I name 3R directly not to vilify but because they appear to be the only game in town on web searches for Salem. However, I received a very unfavorable quote (2x my cost ) from 3R after their site visit, and the proposal/agreement had very general language. From Alpha, I had a no-visit quote which they honored, and a detailed proposal which I agreed to. Alpha has a branch office in Salem managed by Zachary who was directly involved with my install. They did a great job. Let the results speak for themselves: 1) Reduction in radon from 7.6 PCi/L based on my own and Alpha's testing to 0.5, and 2) custom install through a central fume for my HVAC that did not involve exterior piping on an old Craftsman home from the 20's that involved trouble shooting. Call Alpha if you need radon mitigation.

Hired AES to decommission my 1951 heating oil tank. Excellent experience from start to finish. Initial consultation was scheduled quickly, and work began very soon thereafter. All pricing was agreed upon upfront before any work began and there were no unexpected surprises! Final cost ended up being less than originally agreed to due to some tests not being required. I have some pretty elaborate landscaping, so I was nervous it would be ravaged, but the job site was kept clean and safe at all times, and my backyard was returned to its original condition. You almost never knew they were even there! Very pleased with the whole process, and so relieved the tank is gone and no longer a liability of the home.

Had a sewer scope performed. Not a big deal at all. The thing that stood out was how courteous and professional the service tech was. He could have been in and out in 5 minutes. But he stopped and listened, was very pleasant, and professionally concerned over how he dealt with my situation. Great job! we had these guys decommission the oil tank under our back yard, and we had them scope the drain pipe from under our basement to where it joins the city line in the center of our street. they were excellent, super friendly, and enjoyed talking to us about the work (taking time to explain thoroughly). they're excellent!

I cant say enough good things about Alpha, i am a local realtor and have used them on more then several houses.
They have always been super fast at responding (usually with in a day) then scheduling to get their crew out to to the job at hand. I just used them on my personal home where they came out, found a leak in an oil tank under our driveway - they decommissioned it, filled it and took care of it to where i never need to worry about it again.
I have also used them on remediating mold, these are the guys to use if you ever run into that.

I hired Alpha Environmental to do several evaluations when we were buying a home, including a sewer scope, radon measurement, and tank locate. They were very easy to work with, very quick to provide documentation, and I would absolutely use them again in the future.

Great experience. We were on a tight timeline with the purchase of a home and Alpha was able to schedule next day service to help complete our inspection.

I had an incident with one of the employees regarding a test I was asking them to do for me. It was explained to the woman what I wanted and what I was looking for. The woman excused herself and stated she would be right. She did return and said we can do that and any result will be on a paper for you to look at and see the numbers. When I called to ask for someone to explain to me where is the information I specifically wanted to see any positive or negative result. I was told to wait and she put me on hold again. She returned and said she would have the manager or owner to give me a call. After her explaining there tests and what they can or can't do needless to say I was not to happy. I asked the manager or owner to call me which he did. He wanted to make the situation and he offered to give me a full refund $380.00 I was very surprised and thankful because that is a lot of money for me to pay. I am a widow and having the refund did take the sting and negativity out of what happened to me. I think they run their business with confidence and were not going to argue but accept that there was a problem. I hung up feeling better but I was still in the same boat. I do not have an answer to my problem. I wish them the best!

We had sewer inspection and due to the misadjustment of pipe, they said they couldn t go any furture. It happened as soon as they started inspection. I contacted the office twice to request partial refund, but they never return my call.

Quick, easy and hassle-free! Alpha did a sewer and radon inspection for us. For the sewer, they provided a nice report along with a video of the inspection (with audio narration). For the radon, we were provided another report along with the raw data readings. Overall they provided the maximum service for a great price and with very little effort on my part!
