Always love this theater. Very interesting / inventive performances. Seating could use an upgrade - VERY cramped if you re tall!

All depends on the show, but saw an interactive one. Great cast and the venue itself is very clean and neat. Drinks are very reasonably priced and the facilities are all top notch.
Great venue, especially if your a theatre goer. They put on some fantastic shows and In house staff are excellent. Food and drink is very pricey is the only thing. But still a place worth going to if you like a fun night out!!
Duchess of Malfi - interesting take on a famous play. Staging was mostly enjoyable. I felt the second act could have been shortened a bit. Did not really understand the mobile changing room, which was acoustically difficult. Enjoyed the final slow motion carnage scene.
Extra special venue for the theatre or just a coffee.
My favourite theatre in London. It's small but it makes it even more special. World class art here!
Wonderful.small theatre which consistently produces top flight plays with great casts.
Excellent! Creative and thoughtful productions. Seats are comfortable and all have a pretty good view of the stage.
Fantastic venue , probably one of the best theater I have ever been to. Great production, good cafe and professional and helpful staff .
This is most definitely one of Londons best small theaters. The Almeida
theater really intimate ... I liked a lot the connection that is created between the audience and the actors! creepy! Also the staff really friendly ... well kept ... The bathrooms were very clean and fragrant ... the bar is really cute and cozy. I really wanted to be there for eternity.
Beautiful theatre. Saw the twilight zone here and it was excellent. Lovely ice cream and in the middle of wonderful Islington.
Great little independent theatre ticked away in Islington. I saw a very good production of The Duchess of Malfi. Incredible use of the stage, and some brilliant acting.
We saw Machinal. It was so great!! I love this theater. I'd like to visit here again now!!!
Brilliant old school venue only a short walk from Highbury and Islington tube and from the plentiful bar and restaurant scene of Angel. Staff incredibly professional and helpful. Auditorium is well designed with a convertible stage. I had a More
Boundary pushing programming in a perfectly sized theatre- intimate but not TOO intimate. I dig the bar as well.
Love the intimacy of this theatre and the light atrium and cool little cafe. A perfect retreat from the hustle of the high street and all-round fantastic place.
Nice cosy atmosphere once your sat down, its layout is visitor friendly my only dislike was the bland concreted building which if your willing to forgo for the sake of its modern facilities would then make it your perfect venue. Parking is limited but it has good bus services running very close by
Lovely theatre, pleasant staff , superb positioning of the small restaurant. A really
lovely experience. Thank you
Even though the play 'Dance Nation ' got mixed reviews I enjoyed it. Almeida is just round the corner for me and I try to go to everything
Great theatre venue - sometimes wonderful productions.
One of the best theaters in London. Make sure you don't miss out what's on. Cozy atmosphere, good choice of food at the bar.
Does some very interesting and thought provoking productions.
We saw "The Doctor" with Juliet Stevenson playing the lead. Wonderful performance and interpretation.
Cool venue, helpful staff, brilliantly curated program.
This is a small but excellent theatre in north London. We went to see Richard III with Ralph Fiennes and Vanessa Redgrave and it was incredibly powerful, not least because in this room you are very close to all the action and actors. It was a great venue for this powerful Shakespeare classic
Great venue theatre at is best and backed up by good quality wine and service
Fantastic theatre. Good productions. So lucky for you if you live nearby!
The show I saw was probably the best of theatre I've seen in 30 years. Quite frankly astonishing, but given that it's sold out, I doubt you're reading this for a review of a specific show - so let's talk about the staff and facilities instead: all staff are professional but friendly and very well informed: I was queuing for returns and they were clear about my chances and options of getting the ticket I wanted: the loos are clean, seats are comfy and the cafe is fabulous both for a preshow meal and an interval drink. Best bloody Mary in town and did I say how fabulous the staff are? Because the cafe/bar is so nice, the actors often use it after the show, so stick around and meet them. The Almeida gets it right on all fronts in my opinion, and if you're a tourist, don't worry - it does you good yo get out of the rotten old Centre of London: grab a tube and have a pleasant walk - Islington is one of London's nicest places.
Love the Almeida, although its marketing and shows have been a hit-and-miss over the last couple of years with awesome work like Machinal, Summer & Smoke and The Wild Duck versus stinkers like The Writer and The Twilight Zone. No cloakroom, very cramped cafe/foyer, but one of London s greatest theatres and I will still try and see every show.
Ticket prices not expensive and easy to get to via public transport.
Such a beautiful space, with a great range or creative projects for young people (and free shows for young people)
Intimate theatre with great reputation for new material. Best often transfers to West End. See it first and for less money in Islington.
Cosy neighborhood theatre that often showcases critically acclaimed plays.
Affordable, quality theatre. You need to book early as stuff sells out here v quickly.
Nice little theatre. Was there for The Twilight Zone which was very good.
Inside the hall it's industrial stripped back architecture, while you may imagine that helps with the rawness of stage acting I personally found it slightly distracting. However it was a great atmosphere, fantastic performers at the show I went see ("Against"), and has a nice bar with food a space to sit.
The Almeida theatre is a little off the beaten track in Islington, somewhere I ve not really been before but I made the trip to see Matt Smith perform in American Psycho on New Years Eve. The theatre is deceptively small but the staff at both the box office and the attached restaurant/cafe were very helpful and polite.
Seen some really excellent things here. Always worth a try. And the under 26 tickets are such amazing value for young people! The bar can get quite crowded in advance but it does create a good buzz. I've always been impressed by the box office staff too.
Fantastic venue, my local theatre. Never ceases to amaze - the plays are one of a kind, even when they are a rendition. Staff are absolutely wonderful.
Small and will run theatre. Thought provoking productions. Some last minute tickets available.
Watched Hamlet here, recently. Lovely small, cosy theatre with a nice bar and friendly staff.
Superb production of Summer and Smoke with exceptional central performance by Patsy Ferran. God, what a cruel play it is
Saw 'Shipwreck' this evening. Profound respect to the cast for getting through this piece with commitment and professionalism.
Very thight to get had to unload in the street than back out on to a very busy main rd at 5 30 pm not good
Intimate local theater with good close up views of the stage. Friendly staff.
Perfect small theatre with a good sized bar and food area
Best theatre in London. Everything they put on is great and they have so many things that transfer to the west end.
Love the Almeida! Went for a workshop and the place is really nice and has really good offers for -25!
Amazing venue with interesting and current programming. Staff are friendly and efficient, foyer is large and bar prices not too steep. They have a strict late comers policy, so be aware if you are running late!
Interesting performance but uncomfortable seats and lack of staff in cafe.
Nice place been twice in the past month, actually to see the same play! Strange as I am... Staff nice and very friendly.
Almeida is one of the more exciting theatres in London: not-too-large space, outstanding performances, nice bar / kitchen at the entrance
I don't remember ever seing a bad performance at the Almeida. I guess they are very selective about the shows they stage. Quite a nice modern theatre with a decent cafe on the ground floor.
Really enjoyed the Twilight Zone production. Very creative and entertaining.
Absolutely fabulous performance of the hunt and it's my local!what a joy and privilege
Contemporary and inclusive, more daring productions than West End. Less tourists. so many great places to eat and drink nearby.
The Cafe and Bar serves wonderful food. Great option for a meal before a show.
Great theater. Feel so close to the actors. Front row seats are the way to go.
Wonderfully cosy and intimate atmosphere in this theatre
We went to see Hamlet, we didn't have tickets and waited for the day tickets but they had sold out of them. The staff were super friendly and we ended up getting returns tickets. Very happy with the service and the okay was incredible!
Innovative plays, brilliantly staged and performed. Great atmosphere.
Grate venue, brilliant performances, friendly and helpful staff.
Cosy small and intimate theater. Evry seat is very close to the scene. Good service in the bar, although snack selection very limited.
