As an independent contractor, I have done a few jobs for them. They don't pay on time despite a written agreement to pay within 30 days of the invoice. Sent a reminder and got no response. Do not contract with this agency unless you don't care about getting paid.

Several years ago I found a job advertisement on CL. I was scheduled for an evening interview by Dante Scandiffio. I truly regret that I never contacted police that day, I was only 22 and right out of school. He hit on me in a dirty manner, inappropriately touched and said in order to get a job I should provide him sexual services. He also mentioned that a woman who held this position before (she was either Colombian or Argentinian) provided him sexual favors. This company is a FRAUD, please do not apply and stay away if you are a woman!

Worked with ALC sporadically for over 5 years. I stopped interpreting for a while and recently returned working with this company. Upon my return, I noticed EVERYONE on staff is new. A breath of fresh air because they ve implemented new ways to make things easier for me as an interpreter. Their only downfall is no direct deposit. Its almost 2018, who still cashes checks anymore!!

I ran a courier service in the 1990's and Carlos Scandiffio was a client who ran a translations firm located on the 2600 block of Connecticut Avenue. He owed my company a few hundred dollars, and one day, he locked his doors, changed his locks, and his employees were all out their money and their jobs. I also did not get paid. He is the kind of thief who takes your money and runs back to his luxury home in North Bethesda or his condo in Upper NW, Washington, DC, while pretending to be a legitimate businessman. He is a crook, plain and simple. Don't give him any money until you receive your services or you risk losing it all.

On Sat., March 16, 2002, the Washington Post reported in the Metro section:

$780,000.00 Granted in Tralslation Dispute

A Montgomery County jury this week awarded about $780,000 to a woman who sued an international translation firm in Rockville for contract fraud, alleging that it tried to avoid paying her what she was owed under a profit-sharing agreement.

Sylvie M. Clements, of Bethesda, a former vice president of All-World Language Consultants Inc., claimed that she was instrumental in getting the firm two major government contracts. The president of the company, Carlos Scandiffio, was named the Small Business Administrations's business person of the year in 2001.

The jury awarded Clements nearly $400,000 in contract and wage damages and then doubled the award under the Maryland Wage Payment and Collection Law. The jury found that there was no reason for the firm to have withheld payments from Clements.

ALC keeps me booked and busy. This is very important as a freelance interpreter to find an agency with consecutive work. The shortest time frame I've been without an assignment is two weeks. Staff is also amazing, from the receptionist to the finance team they are nothing short of a pleasure to work with.
