Well I had filed my claim myself at the SSA office at the beginning right after my stroke. Then I contacted AllSup after hearing they were good.
I had trouble since I filed myself getting it to show up with SSA as being connected to AllSup and one of their cases. So I had to do all the work myself for the first year at least sending documentation to SSA and receiving letters from them saying we have not received requested documentation from this doc and that. I had to do everything myself while I was still fresh off of a stroke. No help from anybody. They are just a call center and have done nothing for me really. I should have gone to a lawyer I would have gotten more personal attention and probably would have my disability by now instead of waiting for my second appeal coming up in front of a judge two years later.
I do feel better now after just having talked to my case manager there. She is going to call me and prep me a week before the hearing.
I would recommend getting a lawyer instead of AllSup. You don't pay either way. They both just get 25% of the back pay if you are awarded SSDI.

My claim was closed, not denied, closed. And it's ALLSUPs fault.

It was closed because Allsup didn't do their job. It was closed because they never were in contact with the state. I trusted you to take care of me, I trusted you to do your job. You screwed me over, you wasted 200 days of my life. That's 200 days I have to start over now in a brand new claim, because of YOU didn't do your damn job.

My experience with Allsup was very positive. The "Live Chat" was usually responding in less than a minute, and to talk to a specialist was quick. They didn't make you feel like you were pestering them. The Live Chat answered most of my questions. Easy to send things to Allsup in pdf form, and always answered my emails in a timely fashion. A+ in every way.

Could not return my emails, sent me encrypted information with NO response despite multiple email requests to provide in a readable format. Had the contact information for my treating physicians wrong did not request medical information , apparently that was up to me. Did not communicate with LTD provider. Worthless will never recommend them to anyone. Was told that I apparently did not understand their role with the claim. They seem to only take your money for doing nothing .

I used Allsup. Although the whole process took a few years, through no fault of their's but it was so worth it. I was approved for mine and it didn't cost me one time. Was very satisfied and would highly recommend them.

I would not recommend this company. They had one of their representatives reach out to me and she basically accused me of lying on what wasn t even an application, it was a screening process...because I messed up on one of the dates. She then basically kept asking me to use my time with my psychiatrist to discuss what he is going to say to her. I didn t feel comfortable doing that. My psychiatrist has my medical records and if I m paying Allsup, why is it my job to have these discussions with my psychiatrist? She then wanted me to call social security myself and ask them for a bunch of paperwork. Again, what would I be paying Allsup for? I can do all of this myself. After all of this, I told them that I had no interest in having them represent me. I don t know if I got a rep that was just not very good at her job, maybe this company had worked well for other people, but the fact that they hire reps like this has left me very skeptical. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Find yourself elf a REAL disability attorney.
