The staff are great, could not be more welcoming. The classes I've followed have been likewise, well thought out, interesting and demanding in a very good way. I love the time I spend at the Alliance Francaise.
The Alliance has been very innovative during lockdown and continued to provide great courses despite all the difficulties. I have missed being able to go to the Alliance but the on-line courses have been very well presented and conducted and great fun.
A wonderful cultural centre, where to immerse yourself and discover more about French culture! The courses they propose are incredible: combining grammar, conversation, French culture, literature and discussions on current affairs. The teachers are amazing, well prepared and engaging! Moreover, they offer a vast cultural program of free events, including a book club, a cine club, lots of talks, music events etc... the atmosphere is also very special: the elegant rooms have French quotes on the walls, they have a charming library everyone can access, full of books, graphic novels, magazines and an iPad bar full of apps to help you improve your French and to discover more about the culture! This is really my favourite place in Manchester!
I have now done 20 weekly classes at the AF, with two different teachers. The quality of tuition is outstanding. The classes are well-prepared, with a variety of interesting material, and a good balance of grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening and conversation. Homework is marked quickly and thoroughly. Logging on to my French class has become a highlight of my week during lockdown, and has inspired me to read and write more, and to take even more pleasure in the beautiful French language.
Having taken exams, group classes and private lessons at the Alliance, I very highly recommend it as a language centre. Tuition and exams are efficiently administered by a team of friendly staff, and I m particularly grateful to my teacher for all her work and dedication. The facilities and equipment within the Alliance are modern, neat and tidy, from the library to the classrooms. As a centre for both French language and French culture, the Alliance has something for everyone.
A great place to come and learn French, from firndly and professional tutors and in the company of all sorts of interesting people. When you sign up you also get access to the library, DVDs, and online resources, so it's also good value.
I have taken courses with the AF throughout the covid crisis and their e-learning it top notch. I really enjoy the material, the pace is good, the teachers are expert and it's a real highlight of the week. And my French skills are rapidly improving, which after all is the point. Strongly recommend.
Always something new at Alliance Francaise de Manchester. I enjoy meeting people of different ages from all over the world, who have the common interest of learning the about the Francophone world and culture, not just the language. A wonderful team of teachers and staff and very welcoming environment.
