The teachers are great, but really special mention must be reserved for the Registrar, Nast Low, who is probably the rudest administrative staff I ve met in my life. She was completely unapologetic for a mistake on the school website that asked students to purchase the wrong textbook, and even made a personal attack on my character, saying that she doubted I would have been able to purchase the correct textbook on time anyway.

It has a cozy cafe which sells food but unfortunately quite overpriced and the grandma hot coffee was very diluted with milk in it. However, not to fear it is a centre for you in which it offers a large variety of activities to help you to understand and appreciate the French language, culture and people. For example, it hosted exhibitions and shows to celebrate Francophonie week.

Service was great. Food was pretty good too. Fried rice could've used a little more salt. Char Siew was great for Singapore standards. To pay per portion was a little strange but fair I guess. Will try the roast duck at my next opportunity.

Great classes but worst customer service. There is no such thing as customers to AF. The communication is terrible and very slow. They made changes to the teachers and informed us unapologetically 5 days beforehand. If I had other options, I would NOT go to AF. But seems like this is we are stuck with.

The location is very convenient as it is practically next to Newton MRT station. The closest exit from the train station is Exit C which is from the Downtown Line. It is a slightly steep slope from the gate to the building itself but manageable even with a stroller. A ramp at the right-hand side of the entrance to the building gives wheelchair access to the lobby however when you get to the top of the ramp, it is a low step. There isn't any slope and the doors at the main entrance are not automatic so you need to push the glass doors open yourself which is a little difficult when there is a stroller or wheelchair. There is an elevator in the lobby which goes to the 4th floor. There are wheelchair accessible toilets and water coolers on each floor. The place is generally quite clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. The classrooms are a variety of sizes to cater to different classes. The facilities provided are acceptable.

Watched 'Juste la fin du monde' in their theater a week ago! They usually screen movies on Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. - get there early for good seats (in the centre/back rows). The seats have little legroom, but the ambience is very More

Great place. The kids' French classes are top-notch and they have a huge amount of other events and activities on the schedule. The building itself is very nice, and close to the Newton MRT station. Also, they have a very nice cafe on the first floor that serves food, coffee, alcohol etc, so you can bide your time while waiting for kids.

It is a great starting point to immerse yourself in the French culture. They have french classes for all ages (toddlers all the way to adults).
There is also a library, membership required to borrow books.
Disabled access available here, there is also a cafe but currently under renovation.
Location is very closed to Newton MRT.

We love this place and its gallery. Simply so French. The location is easy to get to as well, if you take the train, it will just be a short walk from the Newton MRT. Look out for the newton hawker centre for the local delights.

It's been almost 2 months now that I've been learning French here. I have started from beginner level. The way the language is thought is very nice and fun I'm surprised with how much I could progress in this two months. The class is fun, energetic and engaging.

Would highly suggest here if you are looking forward to learn French.

The Alliance Francaise was a great place to learn French this summer. I went to take some classes to prepare for a French reading exam at my University. Pierre was a fantastic teacher, who really took the time to explain grammar while keeping classes light and fun. He also really helped me with translating an article in a private make up lesson. I highly recommend the place and the teachers there! One caution: do not buy books unless you are sure you are in the right class. They are not refundable, even unused. I wound up having to switch to an easier class and it was complicated with the books.

Teachers are great but administrative side needs...

Teachers are great but administrative side needs more improvement. Working adults should be given more flexibility in terms of class and schedules. They have strict cancellation, refund, deferment policy (which is non negotiable as long as class has started). At the same time they are happy to be non flexible when it suits them - example when I first applied for class (twice a week) but it was cancelled due to insufficient students, understandable so I transferred to (once a week) class and got a credit voucher which had an expiry date on it which I tried to reason with the course coordinator but said my credit voucher had expired. Unreasonable again considering I was forced to change to once a week class - not that I wanted it.
Working adults should think twice about registering their classes here if their schedules are unpredictable. They penalize you for that. We don t need to be reminded of our high school days since they have long past us.
If it wasn t for the enjoyable class spent with fellow students and teachers , I would have rated 1. I wouldn t penalize the staffs good work because of certain bad management staff.
Hope this review will help incoming students make smarter choices.
