So, I have an older car that doesn't have the computer connection for when the check engine light comes on. Rather a series of flashes when you activate the diagnostic switch that say what sensors are reporting strange readings in your car. At first I thought the guy was being a great help as he quickly noticed my radiator cap was blown (he was right about this one and a quick trip to Auto Zone solved my problem, I wasn't about to buy anything here after what comes next). So then he gets behind the wheel, activates the diagnostic function that gives the flashes that stand for numbers. He goes back to the back room to check the numbers and comes back to me with a load of misinformation and/or lies. He gave me the copy of the codes and told me that one in particular, code '55' was indicative that my timing belt needed replacement, a $600 expense. I go home and do a little research of my own, and everywhere I find indicates that code '55' is the code given at the end of all the codes to indicate it is done flashing codes. I went out to my car and figured out how to check the codes myself and half the codes he gave me weren't even right either. I don't know whether he was just inept with those parts, but I know he was scamming me with the code '55'. Stay away. Stay far away. Oh, I think they guy's name was Bill.
They told us that our rear brakes needed replacing immediately, and that our serpentine belt needed replacing. Well, we got a mechanic friend to replace the rear brakes, and he informed us that they had plenty of life left, and that the serpentine belt was fine. Way to waste our money, All Tune and Lube.
I will never go back to ALL TUNE. I went in for a Safety and Emissions and they also said i had a Faulty ball joint in my front passenger tire. Gave me an estimate and then upped my estimate saying the whole arm and joint needed replacing. After leaving, the bolts to a bar they would of had to take off and reattach to fix the ball joint were sheared completely off and charged me to fix something i had no previous issue with until i went in for said inspection. almost 400 dollars later they failed me due to a small bald spot on my tire with decent amount of tread and about 6 more months of use i could get out of it. They will rip you off. do not doubt it.
