Great food, Awesome service! Great staff that makes you feel at home!

Good homestyle Italian food. The atmosphere is nice. Great place for a large group.

No waiter came to our table to even give us water. Sat there for 20 mins and got up and left. Yet there s 4 people standing around hanging out and laughing. Never coming back to this Carmine s.

Service was very good, food is ok to good. Notice dishes come in large quantities for 3 person, so its a place for groups that order the same food. Not the place for ordering specific dishes. Also not a lot of options in menu.

Food was excellent as always, but the service was terrible.

We repeat it. First in New York then here in Washington ... Excellent, the food in style, the attention without equal. Its equally average price since the dishes are for sharing. It is good to go hungry and with good company.

Excellent restaurant for large parties. The food is good and the service is also. The meals are served family style.

Sat at the bar with my cousin since there was an hour wait. We were tended to immediately, however, that changed quickly. We may have been given menus, but the couple next to us and my cousin and I waited a good 15-20 minutes before our order was taken. We got our order taken, but the server must have forgotten because we waited 30 minutes just for our drinks, but luckily a different bartneder/server took care of us. Eventually, I made a complaint to the manager. He wasn t the friendliest, but he did comp one of our meals, and my cousin got a free drink. The food was good, but unfortunately, the experience outweighed the food.

Great food. Served family style, so think large plates and large portions. Service was great also. Had the lasagna and the spaghetti and meatballs. Those plates fed 5 adults and 1 child. Food was fresh and tasted like there was an Italian grandmother in the back cooking it. Definitely recommend. Make reservations though. It stays busy.

I end up here a lot more than I'd like to admit. Pretty good for groups. Huge portions.

Best pasta ever! You can eat a great volume of American pasta! The taste and service are good.

Good Italian restaurant. It serves "family style" so one entree will easily be enough for two to three hungry people. The shrimp Diablo is very good. The Titanic sundae is always quite appealing, but I have never ordered it, as after the entree, no one ever has enough room for dessert!

Portions are huge, they are to share. There is no individual size here!! Came here for lunch and husband and I shared one pasta plate very comfortably. The bread is awesome.

Food was good, came quickly, servants were nice and responsive. Went with a large group for lunch.

If you want Italian food or pasta go somewhere else unless you're trying to feed a football team for cheap.

OMG, super great food, authentic, and priced well. Their dishes are designed for a family, so order an entre and it feeds the table. The service was fantastic. Prices were awesome for the location. The environment was something from an old mob movie, which adds to the Italian experience. Nothing bad to say about this place, it is great.

Huge family style portions of great Italian food in a fun atmosphere.

Gigantic portions as advertised. If you order the gluten free pasta touted on their website, everyone in the party must eat it (since there's so much). Low quality wines by the glass.

Service and food were wonderful. Family size servings. Very convenient access to parking and our theater destination. Will be returning again.

Delicious food! They offer large family sized portions along with lunch portions that are meant for 2 people. The free bread with olive oil and herbs was so good! Overall a great place to eat.

Overcharged $600 - Refused to Make Good

My wife and I booked a party of 19 for at Carmine's for a friend's 30th birthday party. We put down a $600 deposit to reserve a private room. At the end of the dinner, we got a bill from the server and paid it all at the restaurant, a large portion in cash.

A few days later the deposit is still on the CC. Carmine's refused to remove it claiming it was non-refundable. After multiple phone calls to Sharoq the GM and Leeanne requesting to talk to the server and review tapes, they admitted there was a mistake and offered to refund us $318. My wife explained that she would like the whole $600 back and Sharoq became extremely rude. At the end of the conversation, my wife asked for his bosses number - Sharoq hung up on her.

I went to talk to Sharoq in person, he once again admitted there was a mistake but refused to rectify the situation and gave me his bosses information.

We contacted Randy Talbot, the Director of Operations at Alicart Group. After a couple phone calls he advised us that because the server took the money home, he could not take it back from her and there was nothing he could do. He said he would give us his boss's information, but never did.

I don't know whether this was a mistake or malicious, but the lack of concern from Carmine's management and inability to make things right to the customer while being rude and hostile is unacceptable for any business. Do NOT reserve a private event with Carmine's.

Very good family style. Good service and great location

I did not eat here, but they are very close to great parking and the location is very close to the national mall area. I'd suggest giving them a try based on the cleanliness outside the restaurant and because... why not? It's Italian food for goodness sake.

Just came home from celebrating my friend's birthday at the restaurant and the food was great and the portions were great, but this place needs a health inspection ASAP! I hate to leave a negative review at such a nice place where the waiters were so nice and the food came at a good time, but as my group was leaving my friend noticed a cockroach on my jacket!! I was so upset. I hate bugs in general BUT THE FACT THAT IT WAS ON MY JACKET IS UNEXCUSABLE. I told the manager right away and they apologized and they probably didn't offer a refund to any of us because we had all paid the bill and I can somewhat understand that. But they should've done something. My friend shook my jacket for me and the no one knows where the roach went but it must've ran under another table which is really scary because there were others seated around me. I am very disturbed by this because a restaurant with such a good name and good ratings should not have big cockroaches!! It is inexcusable. I hope the health department checks this out.

Couldn't believe the portions and everything was amazing

great service, okay food, gigantic portions, group atmosphere. this place is very group/family friendly - it was very easy to just walk in and get a table almost immediately for a group of 8. the plates are very large and meant to be family style. if you're just a group of two, it might be difficult to finish one plate between yourselves. the food itself is fine, but not anything memorable. i've also been to the one in new york, which was similar but somewhat higher in food quality/taste.

It's Carmines.... I can never finish it all, luckily I will the next day....

The food was ok but honestly the service was terrible this was the first time visiting and definitely do not recommend going we felt they didn't care we where there or even greeted us 20mins just so the waiter can say anything to us a very uncomfortable experience

Unbelievable food. Tastes as close to authentic as you'll get in the United States!

Delicious Italian-American meals served family style, perfect for a crowd. Great service. Well-deserved deputation for their meatballs, but everything we had was wonderful, from the escarole to the veal Parmesan to the spaghetti marinara. Calimari was outstanding.

Great food and good service. Wait staff was extremely nice. Free bread for appetizer with olive oil and garlic.

Loved this place. We went for my son s birthday and I fell in love with this place. The portions are so big that 4 people can share.
Michael Owen was our server and he was super He went above and beyond to make our birthday celebration the best ! Thank you and for sure we ll be back.

Delicious food and excellent service. The woman at the front desk could have had a more welcoming spirit considering she is the first person you see but the wait staff was terrific!

Best Italian in DC. Definitely best chicken parmesan. I'm from NYC so I'm lucky when it comes to Italian. Wish it was.t just family style. Would be great to just order a plate for me.

The first time we came here it was excellent but this time it was not we had a waiter that was very inexperienced and gave us the wrong information, he also referred to my husband in a derogatory way. We were not happy at all, we spoke with the manager who listened to us and apologized but that was it nothing else was done. we left they're very unhappy and it's a shame because we really liked the place but I don't think we will be going back.

Really got that touch. Food good enough. Split a plate and a bottle with hunny in a dress!
