DO NOT PAY THEIR BILLS. I GOT A CALL TO REPAIR AN ICE MACHINE, MOVED MY GOOD PAYING CUSTOMERS AROUND SO I COULD REPAIR THE MACHINE QUICKLY SO THEIR RESIDENCES WOULD NOT HAVE TO GO THE WEEKEND WITHOUT ICE AND THE GRATITUDE I RECEIVED WAS NOT GETTING PAID. THIS WAS OVER A YEAR AGO I SENT THE INVOICE AT LEAST 12 TIMES , CALLED 20 TO 30 TIMES SPOKE TO SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO PROMISED TO GET TO MY PAYMENT OUT STILL NO PAYMENT. IF YOU ARE ANY KIND OF CONTRACTOR DO NOT DO WORK FOR THESE PEOPLE WITHOUT FIRST GETTING PAYMENT. YOU WILL NOT GET PAID. I KNOW REVIEWS ARE TO BE TAKEN WITH A GRAIN OF SALT BUT YOU HAD BETTER PAY ATTENTION TO THE ONES FROM VENDORS AND THERE ARE MANY, SURE WISH I HAD. I ENCOURAGE EVERY VENDOR WHO HAS NOT BEEN PAID TO SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT THESE PEOPLE TO EVERYONE THEY COME IN CONTACT WITH IN YOUR FIELD OF WORK. EVENTUALLY THEY WILL HAVE NO ONE THAT WILL GO ANYWHERE NEAR A AFFINITY FACILITY.

Update: Finally did get payment coincidentally right after this review posted.

If I could put 0 stars, I would. RUN RUN RUN from this company. And this is from my experience as a previous employee. I did a very short stay. My experience was horrible and as a nurse I would not want the individuals that I had to encounter to take care of my love ones. Horrible representation of senior living. Especially in division 5.

My mother has lived at Carteret House in Newport, NC for two and a half years. In the beginning it worked out great. Since hurricane Florence, when they were evacuated, it hasn't been the same. The facility was renovated and is lovely, but although there are some great people who work there and care about the residents, they are severely understaffed. It is impossible to contact anyone at the facility. I leave message after message for someone to contact me, but no one ever does. My mother's doctors office expressed similar frustration trying to contact the facility regarding my mother's medical care. I am finally moving her out, and even though I called and left a message asking to be contacted to arrange moving her out TOMORROW, no one contacted me. If there is anyway to avoid it, don't put your loved ones here.

Terrible caregivers. Google them. Perhaps some of the poorest governance of employees ever. Caregivers in their facilities encouraging memory challenges residents to fight, recording the event the caregivers would even post this to social media. How do you get away with that? POOR oversight and governance by the company. Don't trust these people with your loved ones. They have a nice canned response to poor reviews to give them a call. Nevertheless, they had employees betting on fights with the individuals they were charged with taking care of. Do they spot review video footage? Do they schedule one on one conversations with individuals they care for without the staff present? Probably not, if they had a few simple controls in place they wouldn't be facing criminal conduct issues within the legal system. Don't trust this organization with your loved ones.

I wish I could give this instead of a star. I removed my mom from Gardens of Nashville. She wouldn't get water when she asked. Was not fed what was on the menu. Others were going in her room stealing keeping her upset and her family. Everyone at her age should be able to enjoy an assisted living facility, not be stressed out by the facility. Don't put your love ones here. Take them out. All the staff wants to do is to fill it up with residents. Remove staff that oversee the place and start over with a complete new staff that can run the place maybe it can be better.

If you take your reviews so seriously why not respond to the vendors that you owe money to? I myself have left at least 25 voicemails to discuss outstanding invoice that are 250-300 days old and not one person has ever called me back. The next step will be legal action. I can only imagine if you take care of your business finances the same as patient care you will be shut down soon. Update 1/17/2020 - did speak with James over a month ago about the outstanding invoices. Nothing has been done. And now he isn't calling me back after we have left over a dozen messages.

I also worked for Affinity. Almost 2 years. The residents, and them only is why I stayed. They were the only ones who showed appreciation for anything you did for them. Had some very close relationships with some residents and even their families. They need more caring management. They turn these elderly people away at the door when they have issues to discuss..poor eating habits too. Patients told me the food is terrible so they dont eat, and with the pandemic..people are giving up. So sad, when all the management has to do is care a little. I was fired, not for being late or not doing my job...but for being accused of something I did not do. Plus they have their children and family members working for them and giving them special treatment.

I needed 2 days off to go on an orientation and put my days off in the time frame that was required I was not sure if I was going to go for the other job so I was using personal days for orientation needless to say someone in the office dropped the ball and did not give me the days off so I had to quit before giving a 2 week notice so I am not eligible for rehire
