Very beautiful, nice, remote campground, extremely friendly & helpful staff (thanks for all your assistance Nancy!) I just wish the wifi was working better the last few days of our stay, would have been 5 stars than!
My son has been to summer camp here twice and talks about it throughout the year. His little sister will be going next summer. I've slept comfortably in the cottages for a night on church retreat. The campgrounds are secluded, with various levels of accommodation ranging from simple tent sites to private cabins. The main lodge is spacious and is capable of hosting large groups. Features of the campgrounds include a large pool, zip lines, hiking trails, with a beautiful creek through the middle.
Talk to anyone who spent time here as a child and you will likely hear that this is a special place.
My grandson like it. But complained about the dirty bathroom and shower stalls.
A Wonderful Place where God has taken care of 1/2 of my family!!! I Love How God Spread His Beauty All Around!!!
Wonderful historical landmarks and great family environment!
Great dinner that we did not have to prepare or clean up after.
I woke up and there were bugs in my bed. Not very pleasant to wake up to.
My kids have not stopped talking about it. To quote my two oldest "this will be our every summer thing".
Make sure to send time at this place. It is home away from home.
The food is AMAZING, the staff is so nice, and the animals are so sweet. The were very comfy too!
It is a beautiful property with a very helpful staff. Concrete slabs, full hookups, several creeks. I would recommend highly!
We visit the furnace often. BEAUTIFUL place. Usually quiet and peaceful. Great historical site. One of my favorite places ever. Actually asked my better half to marry me there.
Love my experiences at Aldersgate many years ago as a teen!
One of Kentucky's gems. A Christian (United Methodist affiliated) camp in the summer months, in other seasons an RV park is open and there are various venues for groups of many sizes. Nestled in the mountains of eastern Kentucky, it's not "near" much besides nature. But it's an amazing place.
This camp is home away from home. Been coming here off and on for nearly 50 years. A wonderful place to enjoy creation and meet Jesus in the live and care of staff and campers!
The joy of being "Home" at Aldersgate is just as strong no matter how many years pass. A beautiful setting, an incredible staff, and a place that will always make my soul happy.
This has to be one of the most beautiful and relaxing place on God's earth. We spent Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday over labor day 2015 at the camp site. Amanda and Joel are very cordial and were a big help with information about the camp and surrounding area. Nancy in the office is simply a sweetheart. We arrived with two empty 30 pound LP gas bottles in our RV. In a matter of minutes Nancy was on the phone, called two places and within the hour were had a full compliment of LP gas. There is lots to do within an hour drive and there is lots of beautiful scenery to view. We used the facility as a camp site and not a retreat but I don't see how you could go wrong with the Aldersgate Camp. Do yourself a favor and check it out. All sites are full hook-up and the rates are amazing.
