Terrible to deal with. The whole system is flawed with AIT. Tried to email my department head today and instead of receiving a simple response to a polite email, or no response at all I get a notification that my email was blocked from ever contacting him again.

Completely unprofessional to deal with every time I've had to.

The marking system for exams is ridiculous. I wrote one dec 20th it's now dec 31st still no Marks. I'm supposed to find out if I'm a red seal journeyman, a pay raise is waiting on this I could be applying to other places and furthering my career however AIT gets 2 weeks off without a care in the world. Offices aren't open until Jan 2. The Mark's should have been in prior to going on christmas break so people aren't sitting here broke, nervous wondering if they passed, I could be using this time to study for a rewrite if I failed however I wont know until Jan 2nd minimum a whole 2 weeks wasted. Not impressed with this system.

Do your job as everyone else is expected to.

Lost my paper work, froze my apprenticeship progress due to lost paperwork. Been turned away when I showed up at this location and told to call another person instead. Upon calling said person who muttered insults at the person who turned me away I was informed that she should of helped me in the first place... This place reeks of lazyness and disparity. Blame was put back on me for the lost paperwork and every other issue has been handled by directing me to another person instead.
I've been doing my trade for nearly 10 years and having to go through this process of incompetence so that I can be deemed competent feels insulting. 1 star is too good for this. Tech problems on the website for my last training period took over 2 hours to resolve having to call NAIT twice to only call AIT afterwards.
I would like to register for a second trade. But through another province of course.

my company didn't want to increase my pay after my schooling and lied about my hours. I tried to give evidence about the discrepancy. They ignored my evidence even tho my dad could vouch for me as he was working beside me. They said, It's all up to the employer. The company closed the doors and I couldn't find work because I didn't have my hours. So had to leave my trade.

It's a cash cow. They reset all of your hours when you go to school, so you cannot go to school back to back and improve your job title. Alberta is the only province that does this. They will also cancel your apprenticeship and then email you AFTER they do it. B.C makes employers send in the hours of an apprentice and these guys make you buy a blue book and carry that responsibility on yourself. When they cancel your apprenticeship they make you buy it back. They will also cancel your apprenticeship after one year if you do not report to them. They will cancel it in two if you cannot afford to go to school. Someone needs to do something to make this system like every other province in this country!!! Or in the world for that matter!

Super rude and unprofessional staff, drove me away when I came to them, and I when asked them to do something for me, I received an answer saying they didn t feel like doing it although it was a simple task. Didn t think your job was that difficult. Hopefully your staff can straighten out and become more professional with their customers, this experience was a waste of my time and effort, I truly hope I don t have to deal with these very arrogant people.

Spoke to hunter shaw on the phone 3 weeks ago.

He wasn't able to provide me with any reassuring information pertaining to his feeble argument.

Talked to Paul, and was able to figure out what exactly he was trying to do becuse it made no sense. In fact he seemed hell bent on proving he was competent in the bussiness world, which now i realize was irrelevant. I was on the phone thinking. If people are confident, there not going to be this hell bent on proving themself that they are.

Anyways after being promised a call back I was able to speak to a credible individual who had pointed me in the right direction.

Overall this place is rated so poorly at 2 stars most likely to incompetent employees who cannot be clear and concise on what it is they are trying to do.

Boyfriend called to get information regarding welding employer asking everyone to go from employee to full time contractors. Aside from asking a question or 2, no help or advice on that. Called back to seek advice on waiting/not being paid from his current welding employer, for work completed: AND also sent an email. Never heard from anyone. AWEsome assistance.

The new location is in the Center of Applied technology in nait located on the fourth floor. There is street parking for 1 hour that is free but it is very limited. Other than that there is busing and train. This is where you can also take exams. The ladies were very friendly and more than willing to help out.

If you want to be taken advantage of and paid a wage you cant survive on become a hairstylist apprentice. You'll have to waste your own time and money on skills you'll never use for an outdated exam. Complete waste of time.

AIT exists to make life difficult for apprentices in Alberta. It's a wonder anyone has their journeyman credentials with these idiots in charge of the apprenticeship program. Every single time I go in they find a way to make my life more difficult or mess something up for me, even though I have worked consistently throughout my apprenticeship and passed school early each time. I would seriously hesitate to recommend someone join a trade just because of how difficult and unhelpful AIT is.

Gotta love how they can only "borrow" so many hours because you put off school to finish a job up. Its like they get off on seeing people get refused a stamp in their book. Not like it affects their paycheck. Honestly can't wait to be done this apprenticeship and won't be starting another one.

Very unhelpful. Unable to go in as that would require taking a day off work, which I can't afford, because they have poor hours. Lose paperwork & none of their links to upload documents work.
