Alberry's Canterbury / Bassmental Ashford Review

Good chips.
Great mac & chips.
Not so great a patty, thin and lacked and flavour. Its a shame because our previous experience of Trolls Pantry in Brighton led me to think i would expect excellent patties at other Burger Brothers locations.

usually has good music.. beers are expensive and the cellar thing gets old quickly

Rum selection is second to none. Music on the Friday was awesome and the staff were funny and polite.

Always love this place!! Great food and drinks and great service!

Its ok, felt the locals were not very friendly though and bar staff didnt know how to make a black russian which was a worry.

Had one of my best nights in canterbury here. Definetly be back for more.

Had a fantastic Saturday night in Alberrys. Highly recommend the cocktail making experience. Lovely staff, fantastic food (Taco Bills) and a great atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

A great bar, the drinks are quite expensive, but it s an overall cozy and interesting place to be.

A cool bar with an interesting set up. I really enjoyed their design and their basement, but the drinks were kind of pricey and their DJ was just about bareable.

This is not a wine bar, and it s as cozy as a dentist waiting room. They have three boring reds and whites as any old pub have for the same price that the bartender knows nothing about. And what wine bar doesn t offfer snacks?! Food is very average and I can t figure out what the owners actually want this place to be. Not worth a visit unless you want an average cocktail..

I went here for my dad's birthday on the opening night of Taco Bill's, the staff were great, and the food was excellent! Best tacos I've ever had!

Cheap drinks but lacked atmosphere at time of visit.

Whilst this bar's atmosphere and music is generally good on a nightly basis, the one thing which makes going to Alberrys absolutely horrible, are the despicably badly trained and aggressive bouncers. During my first night there, I was standing at the bar on my own having a drink when a bouncer came over and started to escort me out towards the exit. Completely baffled I asked him what he was doing, and he claimed that I was 'falling asleep at the bar'. Apparently they have been told that bowing your head forward to fix your fringe warrants your immediate removal from the premises. I was completely embarrassed in front of everyone there, especially since the majority were probably more intoxicated than myself. If you are looking for somewhere where you are treated like an absolute idiot, then this is the place, otherwise, stay well clear from this hell-hole.

Nice pub, often has live music/DJ sets in the cellar, worth a visit.

Love love love alberrys! I love the staff in there, the cocktails and the music. Only downside on my last visit was that the downstairs had a bit of a sewagey smell - perhaps there was a drain issue? That's the only downside though. This bar is perfect if you want to be able to chat, dance and get decent cocktails and wine. My favourite in Canterbury!

Lovely place for a few drinks in Canterbury. There was no food or even crips/peanuts to eat though which was a bit disappointing
