My family & I rode this train twice during our AK trip 2 weeks ago! We rode it from Anchorage to Denali, then back to Anchorage a few days later. We had the Goldstar service and it was wonderful! The seats are incredibly spacious with plenty of leg room, the meals were delicious, and the drinks were great! The staff are very kind and helpful. We very much enjoyed the viewing deck! The scenes we rode through are just stunning. I cannot speak any higher of our entire experience on the train. I would make that ride over and over again! We did make several stop to pick up passengers at random spots but we still made it to our destination on time. Highly highly recommend this experience!

Took the train from Anchorage to Seward (about 8 hours total). It was a great ride and great experience. The food was pretty good considering it is a train. My wife and I sat first class and it was a very nice and pretty viewing car. The staff did a good job hustling considering half of their staff called in (we know this only because the working staff told us this).

Good experience overall and highly recommend this train/trip for a nice day out.

The only negative is that the train encouraged community-style eating (random parties eating at a table with one another. This is not my preference, especially during a pandemic, but they did let people eat alone if they chose. They just had to wait about an hour longer to eat).

I enjoyed the train ride and the scenery along the way, and would do it again for that. What I wasn't impressed with was the food service. I had a gold star ticket, meaning you rode in the nicer cars, got 2 free alcoholic drinks, unlimited non-alcoholic drinks and meal service included in the price. I was taking the train from Anchorage to Talkeetna, while it seemed most of the passengers were either going to Denali or Fairbanks. They started at the front of the car to take people down for breakfast, and since I was in row 17, that meant that I would be served dead last. I asked the waiter who took you down to the dining car if I would get to eat before we got to Talkeetna, he assured me I would. I noticed that they weren't moving people along very quickly and it was taking forever, so I asked again, reminding him that I was getting off at Talkeetna. He said I should be fine.

The train was supposed to arrive at Talkeetna at 11:15. At 11:00 they finally took me down and seated me at a table. At 11:05 they finally took my order, at 11:12 they finally brought me my meal, I had 3 whole minutes to eat it. When you're traveling first class you don't expect that kind of an experience. The train needs to seriously re-prioritize who they allow to eat first, it should be the passengers who have to get off first, the ones who are staying on can eat whenever. If they can't figure out this simple principle they have no right charging first class prices for rushed, sloppy service. Alaska Railroad you can and should do better, please correct this mistake!

You can't find a better, more scenic way to see Alaska. Fun crews, great views! Best glacier views, Glacier Discovery or Coastal Classic. Best wildlife, wilderness and Denali views, Denali Star and Hurricane Turn.

The crew is phenomenal. I had the pleasure of riding the train with Warren, Michael, and Lee and they made me and my visiting guests feel special. The views are incredible, all of the staff is warm and friendly, and everything was clean. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. One of the loveliest experiences I've had here thanks to the team. Thank you!!!

Took the Taste of Alaska tour. Incredible views between Anchorage and Seward. Everything was smooth because they plan it all for you. Great tours of Kenai Fjords, Real Alaska tour, K2 Aviation Denali flight, and Mahays Devils Canyon. Highly recommended!

The goldstar class is exceptional and is fully worth the ticket cost. The glass dome presents fantastic views. There is an open deck too if you'd like the taste of fresh Alaskan air and unrestrained view of the surrounding.
