Alaska Conservation Camp

This is a great place to stop by on the way from Anchorage to Seward. However, we've already spent a few days in Denali and after seeing animals in the wild, the captives here seem a bit depressing. We understand this conservation center is for a good cause so if you're only in Alaska for a few hours and don't really have the time to spend a whole day seeing a few animals in the wild, the conservation center is a great place to see them only a few feet from you. It's really amazing!

I absolutely love this place. They take amazing care of the animals and you can get up close to moose and bear!

$16 and you get to drive through the park. You can get out and take photos of everything and they have staff giving tours through the day as well.

AWCC is a wonderful place to visit while in Alaska. Got to see some of my favorite animals up close! Some of the enclosures seem small although maybe they are the size they are supposed to, I'm no expert..

this is a great place to see animals that are native to Alaska. If you go before you go on Wildlife tours of Alaska, it will help you spot the animals in the wild. If you go after seeing the animals in the wild it helps put perspective on the real size of these animals. Well worth a short stop Prince

About an hour drive from anchorage, Alaska wildlife conservation center is a must visit. A 2 mile loop on the foot will bring you up close with some wild friends native to Alaska.

You walk or drive around freely, on your own. Really enjoyed seeing the bears. Cutest thing

Wonderful and absolutely amazing place. They take such good care of their animals there.

Type of safari / zoo. You can walk among the pens of the animals. There are also guided explanations several times a day. It is also possible to drive by car between the pens (helps when it is raining). Particularly successful if you have not been able to see wildlife during your trip to Alaska.

Lots of wildlife to see. You can drive around and hop out as you wish if your feeling a little lazy.

Dwayne help us for our paid tour and it was worth it very knowledgeable about everything and we got to feed some of these animals. A must visit while in AK

Good experience to know more about Alaska native animals and see some of them in action. The small animals and birds need more space. Better walking path would be good for seniors

Between Seward and Girdwood lies the Wildlife Conservation Center. It s a place to see moose, bears and other animals that have been rescued from the wild. The whole place is a little too sad with the porcupine showing stereotypic caged behaviour by walking up and down. It s a favourite of cruise ship pre and post tours.

Great to learn about the other life with which we share this planet.

Cool place, saw animals, but expensive, but do good work.

I thought this place was neat. I wish we had more time here though. We missed the owls and wolves. :(

We love this place. Every time we're in Alaska we stop here. My grandkids really enjoy it.

This is a must-do if you want to check out the classic big wildlife of Alaska. We saw bears and bison and the elk are such characters. You can drive around or walk or both.

Wonderful place for seeing Alaskan wildlife. Moose, bears.,reindeer, etc. Loved this stop. If you have the time, be sure to stop here. Very reasonable entry fee.

What a great place! Great views of animals, great boardwalks, and you can even just stay in your vehicle and drive around if you want to.

It's a great trip for guaranteed Alaska "wildlife" viewing. Much more open and rustic then a zoo, this is a unique way to experience the animals of Alaska and learn some new things along the way.

A beautiful place to visit, with wonderful views of nature.

A great place to see the animals you might have missed in your cruise, easy to see and great food and coffee out there. Also, they are trying to study and reintroduce Alaskan animals back into their native habitat, like wood bison and they also rescue injured animals.

Great way to see diverse wildlife up close, but in "wild" settings. The bear enclosure is particularly cool, with walkways to get you close, but keep you safe. This center does great work, and is worth visiting and supporting.

Seeing the animals interact in an open space was a great view. I especially enjoy that some of the animals are rescues that the staff take car of.

It was so hot almost 90 but a wonderful place that animals are cared for. You can see everything up close. Not pets so no touching. Only nice to see in one place. Many orphans and hurt animals here. It's really a great experience I will remember.

I expected better facilities, more animals and the place is very small for what they charge, they should charge less. I left the place disappointed
