Very laid back, owner spoke tome without an appointment and all people were very friendly. I look forward to attending school there next month!
I had a great time while training at AK9I. My instructor Matt was amazing. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with us and our K9 s. Not only would I recommend taking a course at AK9I, but I d also recommend Matt as the instructor to have while taking the course.
Awesome facility with awesome workers that take care of the dogs
I have gone through the course twice and trained two different dogs, my first time as a new handler with no experience. My instructor(Matt) walked our class through every step of the way and taught us so much that by the end of our course I was confident and ready as an explosive detection team. I cannot thank my instructor enough, so much so that when I went through a second time that I made sure that I was able to get him again as an instructor because there was so much more than I could learn from him. Upon graduation a second time with a new , again completely satisfied with the training and results. Planning on going back again soon and learn as much as possible from the staff and my instructor.
Attended AK9I for the January class. AK9I is a top notch school and I highly recommend it for anyone trying to get into the K9 industry. Instructors Matt is very knowledgeable and knows his stuff when it comes to training canines. He was always there to ask questions, even after training hours. He assured that my canine was trained to the highest standard, and was ready to start working after graduation. All instructors there are too notch and know there knowledge. Highly recommended!
I took the 13 week course with my instructor Brian Diggs and wouldn't have changed anything. Working with Mr. Diggs gave me a lot of insight on the K-9 world and how to become a better dog handler. I would recommend anyone to ask for Mr. Diggs on his knowledge, military background in K-9, and his honest truth.
We have had the opportunity and the pleasure to work with AK9I on numerous occasions. We work with their alumni on a daily basis. Words alone can not describe their level of professionalism. It starts from the top, their leadership institutes an incredible culture that is second to none. They have a K9 first mentality. It s apparent they treat each and every student as an individual tailoring to their needs to be the best that they can be. It s truly and honor and a privilege to work with this first class organization.
#certified #gonavy #disabledvet Tony was great and helped get me to where i needed to be to get my feet wet i side the dog world. Freda(k9) and I have a bond that cont be broken im blessed to have found this program.
They have an outstanding display of motivation and dedication to the education of dogs and trainees. I thank them so much for every dog they train, to every man or female that completes they're school. Again would highly recommend this school for retired veterans, and for those with a passion for animals.
I attended the 13 week Handlers and Detection course and was very pleased. My Instructors Tony and Matt were amazing in helping me along the way. They stayed overtime and even came in on weekends to not only help with my K9 from school but also my personal k9s ( I had 4 of my own ). I would recommend this school amd these instructors in a heart beat.
Instructor Matt is the reason this school gets a 5 star rating. I had a horrible experience at first until he took me under his wing. He is always available and is willing to train all day and night. He has an immense amount of knowledge when it comes to K9s and truly loves everything about them. He will never steer you wrong and always give you real world advice with hard evidence to back up what he says. He is always training and takes it very seriously. To all the future students, seek him out and ask every question you can. I m proud to call him brother. He taught me more in 5 days than most could teach me in a year. His own dogs are a reflection of his work as well as countless other student dogs. My dog Brix is top notch thanks to him.
I attended the 13 week course, from Jan 2019 - April 2019. My instructor was Matt Goschke. He is very knowledgeable about K9 odor detection. He turned myself and K9 Yokai into a very strong explosive detection team. Yokai was a handful, to say the least, but Matt quickly realized how to get her focused and once he did that (with her and me) we were off to the races. Yokai and I are very appreciative of Matts effort with us!
This school is simply amazing in every way possible and for me it was a life changing experience. $Multi-million facilities, top-class equipment, finest -truly the FINEST- working k9s, and on top of all a solid training team and staff, all in one place and that is the advantage. All trainers and staff care about delivering true results, and are willing to help students achieve their goals and work out any issues for every student to ensure success and satisfaction I will be very greatful to AK9I for years to come. I am greatful to my instructor Bryan Diggs for the training, patience, support, understanding, and for giving me hope. As an Iraq war veteran, having a war veteran instructor like him was not only helpful, it was inspiring. He brings a great deal of military k9 operations and trains as if the threats are real. I highly recommend his class for future students, whether they want odor or bite work, or both. Every day was a new challenge, and the training scenarios and exposure to real life situation was as real as it gets, including finding explosives at parks, shopping centers, stores, ATVs and fishing boats, to bite work at a shopping centers and on the beach, and a lot more. He understands dogs like no other, and can problem solve in a heartbeat, and manipulate a dog within seconds. It is a great opportunity to learn from someone like him, not only that, but also it is very satisfying to simply watch him work, even to the general public. In addition to k9 training, Bryan helped me a lot on a personal level, in much more ways that i can list here, and for that I am also greatful. If AK9I ever starts a Service Dog program for disabled veterans, and they should because they are already doing it indirectly for many disabled veterans including myself, I have to recommend that Bryan trains the class, or at least visit the class multiple times a week. He will have a great impact. This school is very well equipped to start such a program, and it will be very helpful for veterans and disabled people in general. Eventhough me and my dog, Rony, trained on patrol and explosives, the bond I was able to create with him here, with the help of AK9I and Bryan, is pricelss.
I completed the 13 wk course under Brian Diggs. When I began I had zero experience in the field. Brian was not only a wealth of knowledge but his training method helped me create a true connection and confidence with what I learned!
Really enjoyed my time at the school and learning from a Top notch instructor. Matt was really good, broke down everything so it was easy to learn and understand.
I attended the 13 week patrol and detection handler trainers course in July of 2019. Doing security and doing bail enforcement the company I work for thought it would be best for us to start utilizing K9 s. My instructor was Matt Goschke who went above and beyond to make sure I was getting the right dog for the job, he took K9 Hawk to a whole new level he had never been too (Hawk was already trained and certified prior to me coming to the course). Matt put in countless hours to make sure I left the school with a top tier dog. Needless to say I did, sense returning back to New Hampshire with Hawk we have worked countless events as a team doing detection work at the Democratic debates, executive protection, and have taken countless bail jumpers into custody. None of this could have been done with out the tireless work of my instructor Matt Goschke and AK9I.
Instructor Matt made my dog the beast he is today ! By implementing proper amounts of pressure while also building confidence, Matt truly knows how to develop and train excellent detection dog teams !
I attended the 13 week handler/trainer course. When the course first began it was bad. They gave us an instructor Who basically never tried to help us, would hit the dogs or mistreat them. We lost about 1 week to almost 2 weeks of training and were falling behind fast. While the other groups were advancing to more complex training we were still pairing. Matt Goestchke was our savior, from the first day he came it was a drastic change. Matt has a lot of Knowledge and experience and made sure we were prepared for anything. He stayed after class with us if we needed help And was always there for when we needed him. Me and my K9 Pirata were so blessed to have worked with him during the rest of our stay in Ak9I. Detection, to bitework to off leas searches he made sure our dogs were confident in what they were doing. It got to the point where all we had to do was tell out K9 our search command and they would go to work on their own with pin point accuracy. I really appreciate this school for fixing the mistake they did with my group by hiring Matt, because if we would have been forced to stay with the old instructor i would have walked.
I attended the 13 week course at AK9I from February through May 2020 and I had no knowledge about this industry. Never handled a working dog in my life. Just grew up around dogs. I honestly didn't know what to expect from this course; if I was going to get a job, if I'm even going to finish, what would I be doing after I graduate. But after the first day, I met my trainer, Brian Diggs. He was very thorough with the process of training our dogs. From two-balling, to pairing, to searching. It was obvious that Brian has had many, many years of knowledge and experience. He's an outstanding instructor who knows what he's talking about and he pushed me and my dog as a team. He provided real world training scenarios that I think I would not have gotten if I was with another instructor. He gave me a plan on what I should do to get a job and make money after this program. Over all, he's very real and there's no b.s. Brian made sure that I understood what's going on as far as training. As a class we always talked about the problems we worked and what we need to do in order to get better. So, if you're going to go to this school and get your money's worth then you need to get Brian Diggs as your instructor.
I am a veteran, and used my gi bill to get a bachelors degree in criminal justice, and could not utilize the gi bill for this course. With that being said, I would do it again. My instructor was very clear and thorough. He always made sure each student understood and was able to apply different training strategies. He went above and beyond to get me and my k9 ready for the real world. Upon graduation I was able to secure employment within two weeks. Now my k9 and I are working full time together. I can t thank my instructor and the staff enough for all of their help and knowledge. Without them I would not be where I am today.
I attended this course in January of 2017. I got an amazing K-9 Partner from them. The course was in depth. The instructors were top notch. The facility is world class. The owners truly care about the students and the staff. The quality of dogs they have is outstanding. Whether you're an agency looking to acquire another K-9, or a veteran looking to use your education benefits to break in to the K-9 world, this place can make it happen.
I attended the 13 week course at AK9I from Nov.-Jan.2020. Brian Diggs was my instructor for the entire course and always professional and pushed me to meet my potential. He used his prior combat military career to cater towards my military and police experience in possible real world situations. This is a school any vet should consider as it is also highly therapeutic working with dogs.
I would like to say thank you to Ak9i and the experience was great due to my second Instructor Matt. He is so amazing at what he does and has so much passion about it . He is willing to stay after hours and work on weekends with his student just so they get the best product. I came out with an amazing dog due to his knowledge and time he is willing to put in with his student
I had a great experience at ak9i during the 13 week program . Brian Diggs is an exemplary trainer, true professional and will go above and beyond to make sure you and your dog get the correct training . Mr Diggs is a extremely organized professional. He shared his knowledge on how to keep up with my records, for myself and to give out for job applications. Giving me a better chance at finding work . With his past training experience , and real world experience as a handler overseas and in state. Mr Diggs has a lot of knowledge to pass on . I would recommend Mr Diggs to any incoming student along with ak9i as a whole to anyone looking to get into the k9 field.
Positive experience. Instructors, admin, kennel staff all professional and helpful. Do recommend school.
I received employment offer from global k9. When arriving I was informed that everything I was taught was wrong. Informed that this is the way or the high way. No acceptions! So basically everything I was taught with you was wrong or the industry is wrong one. I have two working dogs now. And me and many others I know are unable to receive employment. Do to the fact we have no experience in the police or military as a handler. With that being said no one will employ us across the board. I loved the training at your facility and agree with much of it. Unfortunately much of it was a waste. When you go to school to find employment. But no one will employ you or others alike. One can't help but to get discouraged! The staff, facility and program is amazing. But I only recommend it for some one who has police or military handler experience. Or someone who is looking to get into personal stuff. Or even protection work. Yes you guys helped me and for that Im greatful. Much of my high regard is to the instructor I had. For he is the best person I've ever meet that works with dogs. But if a individual goes here seeking a career or employment. I believe they will be disappointed.
I have attended this course twice now. The first time I attended to obtain a dual purpose narcotics canine. My instructors during that course were instructor rich, instructor Matt, instructor Brad. Instructor Rich was our primary instructor, who was very versed with inside the canine career. Not only was he knowledgeable on the subject matter, he was calm and it serves wow teaching us the ins and outs of the k9 community and curriculums. One year later, I went back to attend a shorter length course. My intention is the second time around was to obtain a explosives canine. While attending I was partnered with a phenomenal lab. I was able to recertify my first Canine while training and certifying my second. My primary instructors for the second go around was instructor Matt and instructor Brad. Again, both were well-versed with inside the canine community. Instructor Matt took the time out; as did instructor rich, To make sure that each of the students in my class understood what was being taught. Talk about the personal touch! When I graduated with my certifications, not only was I confident behind my knowledge that I obtained through AK9I in regards to canine training, I found My passion again and working canines. If you re wanting to attend this course take the time out to do your research, find the type of discipline you re wanting to go after, and go for it. If you have limited knowledge overall of training and handling, the staff at AK9I don t hesitate to assist you in understanding all aspects of the community. I believe that without the instructors that I had teaching me I would not be where I m at today. Instructor Matt not only put the effort into making sure that each student retain the knowledge I was being taught, but he put extra hours in each student while teaching. There were days where We were cut loose for the day, but instructor Matt made it known that if anyone else wanted to stay late or later any given day even on the weekends to touch on subjects that they were on sure if he made himself available. I hope that each individual that I was lucky enough to meet and build with while I was at AK9I continues to produce the phenomenal work that they do. There s so much more to this course than what you see behind the videos and reviews. All I can say is take the time, be patient, give 1000% and it will be worth it in the end.
Just completed 13 week course and very happy with the course and it s material I ve learned. My instructor Tony was outstanding as well as all the other instructors I encountered. Very knowledgeable staff that go out of their way to make sure you understand the course and to have a excellent working K9 at the end of the course. Bonus of this institute is you leave with the K9 you train so you can start working immediately, most other schools don t offer this. I highly recommend this school and hope to be able to attend another future course especially looking forward to the new courses coming soon!
