First time dealing with AIG and I am disgusted with their service and attitude thus far.

After calling numerous times and leaving unanswered messages, (I do not have the claims consultants e-mail address as I have never received any communication from him), I finally get through and when trying to find out what is happening and when things will happen, I get told that He has a busy life there, I should only call once and not a few times as he'll be attending to whoever called before me first. He has a turnaround time if 60 days to finalise so that's how long it can take and I should just wait (this isn't including time to have repairs done). He rudely said: 'Why don't you claim from your own insurance' - I am a third party, my vehicle was bumped while parked.

Simple information about when an assessor will be appointed is being witheld? If that's the next step why not just appoint one and provide me with the appointment date.

Definitely not an insurer I will ever consider for my own vehicle.

WORST! WORST! Company EVER! and worst CUSTOMER service! Years ago i took out a policy with AIG. Years later i cancelled the policy due to personal reasons. Lately i've been noticing that there was an amount going off my bank account (a debit order). When i checked with my bank, they informed me it was AIG. I was shocked as i did cancel the policy and i do not check my bank account every month. I called them this morning enquiring why, what where etc. but i was informed that according to them the policy is still active and that they can pull the recording on where i agreed on taking the policy. I told the lady, Hazel Weideman that i know i took the policy, but what she is not getting is that i cancelled it, so getting the recording where i agreed to the policy wouldnt help as i admit taking it. So anyway to make a long story short, the lady said she needs to speak to her supervisor and she will call me back. Eventually she called me back and informed me that according to their records the policy lapsed in 2014, which means there was not funds in my account. I disagree with the no money thing, as i am sure it was when i cancelled the policy. I have no record of the cancellation as i am not with the same employer that i have been in 2014, and also we relocated in the meantime, so ive lost all communication via emails. The lady then informed me that she can see that the policy was re-instated in 2017. So i requested her and AIG to give me the recording for the re-reinstatement. I want to know who re-instated the policy and i want to hear if it was my voice on the recording as i cannot recall re-instating the policy. She told me the person who re-instated the policy was Mr Rajee Mungroo. She then told me she will request the reinstatement recording, but she cannot give me a timeline. I asked her if it will take a week, a month or years and she confirmed she cannot tell me as she only works there and she doesn't know how long it will take and that there are lots of other clients with queries too. Luckily the conversation of this morning is recorded, as she stated when she called me that all calls are recorded. I asked her then if i could speak to the Supervisor, and she said she will log a dispute and ask the Supervisor Mr Titus Lewela to call me as he is not there at the moment. So i told her again to cancel the policy immediately, only to hear that they require a 30 day notice and that another amount will be taking off my account. AIG! you are FRAUDSTERS! THIEVES! INCOMPETENT STAFF! LIARS! You have taken my money without me knowing and now you want to take more!!!! And your incompetent staff cannot help me as there are other clients with queries too. How important are your clients then. Lets see who will call me back and how long i will wait for the reinstatement recording. Hazel Weideman? Titus Lewela? Rajee Mongroo? Contact details of customer care number i called ********** 401 AEGIS

AIG's cover is not adequate. You still need to pay out of your own pocket when abroad in a medical emergency. When you want to claim they create delays on their side via manual process', and every time you have to wait 10 working days for a reply. You as the client have to follow up constantly. We are not even talking about a lot of money here. Been a month to get R4000 approved. Imagine having a decent medical claim, poor you! Not worth the paper you signed on, look elsewhere for better and more efficient cover.

Very poor service. They take your money every month but cannot pay a claim on time. The claims advisers don't give you feedback, you have to continuously call or email them. My claim was submitted in March and Is still not resolved. I am going to be canceling this policy with immediate effect. There service is very poor and they definitely don't care about there clients.

Having had to deal with AIG recently, I have to say that their claim "At AIG we take pride in ensuring our customers satisfaction" is entirely false. AIG take any and every opportunity to try and refute claims. People promise to come back to you but fail to do so. They keep adding requirements to what they want for a claim. I have been a client for over 14 years, no claim, but when I submit a small claim, I have to provide such onerous paperwork it is ridiculous. This company is a cruel joke! They don't deserve even one star.
