Amazing agency with lovely caring staff, they know the business inside out and genuinely want to see their talent succeed. My daughter recently scored an extras role in a feature film and it was such a fun and encouraging experience she wants to continue developing her skills for further roles. A very professional agency.

So far my experience at Agency 888 has been glorious! The staff are all so lovely and funny. I was booked for a job and it was one of the best experiences I've had in my entire life. Gary sends out weekly newsletters that inspire hope and keep us in the loop while Chloe and Bee do their best to find us great jobs. Its been an amazing experience so far and I'm keen to see where this goes!

Updated- A fantastic Saturday spent at the office of my Agency 888! Today I was apart of a very informative, proactive workshop with casting director Bud Hopes, I learned alot about what to expected on set and what expectations to set for myself to be a successful asset performer. It was great value and a pleasure having Gary there for any questions from a talent management perspective.Original- What an amazing morning at Agency 888!!! I just finished my first ever screen test and I am radiating with happiness. On my way in I was shaking with nerves, but from the moment I walked through the doors Chloe and Bee made me feel so comfortable. There is a calm welcoming vibe throughout. I was given time to familiarise myself with the space and practice my script. Gary walked in and I instantly felt at ease, once rolling my nerves started to take over but Gary knew exactly what to say to have me feeling grounded and confident in my emotional direction and not once did I feel insecure. There is zero fuss with this Agency and I am over the moon at the opportunity to learn and grow with a team with so much knowledge and experience. Highly recommended. As someone who has/had been with the agency for years I know how they work. Lovely and welcoming staff at first but then they take your money (for you to be on the data/have a portfolio) then have no work for you (I ve been with them for years).
I had previously been with an aganecy that was free and I got auditions a lot and this agency is the exact opposite.
Do not bother with somewhat of a scam.

Did a workshop at Agency 888 today (08/03/17) with Bud Hopes of Bud Hopes Film & TV Casting. It was great! Bud provided valuable insights into how to give yourself the best chance of getting an audition and then what to do once you're on set. Very topical and relevant. Gary of Agency 888 was also on hand to answer an questions from a talent agent's perspective.

Today (09/03/17) I had my headshots taken by photographer Richard Hovan at Agency 888's offices. One of the best photographers I've worked with! He made me feel relaxed and at ease, and gave really great direction. I ended up with some fantastic shots that don't even need retouching.

My experience at Agency 888 has thus far been incredible.
From the moment you walk in the door you're greeted with smile and treated like not just someone important, but part of the family.
All of the company members go above and beyond on a daily basis to ensure you feel comfortable, important and they work incredibly hard to get your face out there and find you solid work. I cannot say enough great things about these guys, they are amazing!

I also attended "Buds Get Set" weekend workshop run by Bud Hope. It was better than I could have hoped. I learnt so much useful information in such a casual, calm, friendly environment. I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to make a start in this business the knowledge of someone with so much experience is absolutely invaluable!

Can I do this?

This thought came with me as I first walked through Agency 888 s doors. I d cold-called them about acting work, as I d heard they were long-standing members of the film and television industry. I feared they would look down on me as an amateur. Quite the opposite happened.

At their friendly interview, they welcomed me and patiently answered all of my questions.

Naturally, they were frank about the marketplace and its expectations. They talked about photos, databases, screen tests, work opportunities and career directions. I admit, it was a lot to take in and I wondered if this was really for me.

However, the Agency 888 team supported me and helped me build my profile as an actor. They also encouraged me to attend Bud Hopes Get Set workshop, which was an excellent introduction to working on set .

I now realise that with self-belief and Agency 888, my success is possible.

I can do this.

AVOID! SCAM! They'll invite you in with sweet words and pamper to you ego, but then you'll be forgotten unless you give them more money. Just a bunch of empty promises. Waste of time and money..

Beware!

like most agencies the idea is to get you on the books and get you work. Unless you're this company's star performer then you will not get much from them.
I was talked up to sign with 888 in Brisbane and do a shoot with one of their highly recommended photographers. It was overpriced and out of the hundred photos we took on that day I could only use 4 of them. I had met with the director of 888 multiple times in the early stages but it was usually when I was spending money on a workshop or photoshoot. Over time the communication between 888 and myself went quite. When I returned again to "check in" like the company reccomends we do every few months the director himself didn't even recognize me and treated me as a brand new client. I played with this to see how far it would go and sure enough he gave me the same speech he gives everyone to get you on the books and sell you this dream. When I called him out on this he was speechless and started promising me work immediately telling me that I am "so much more marketable now" (referring to my new haircut from dreadlocks to a fade) before that I was supposed to be "marketable" with the look I had. No one in the company gave any advice to "improve" my look if that were an issue. Before i left the office, they wanted updated headshots and were over the moon when I gave them "professional" photos that cost me nothing from an ex employer of theirs who left due to issues they had with the company as well.

After this meeting I had with the director I recieved just one extras job on a film that didn't pay. I was with 888 for a whole year and it took me having to call them out for them to give ONE job that went no where. Then my contract ended with them and that was the last I heard of 888.

I'm sharing this as this was my experience with the company and for others who read this to be aware of scammers and being sold this dream as not everything that shines is gold.

You don't need to pay hundreds of dollars for headshots and profile photos.
Same thing goes for the workshops that are offered. This is how the company makes its money. Over price everything in the Hope's they find schmucks who will pay it. However as I said before... this was my experience with them. Just a fair warning to anyone looking for representation from a an agency.
