When we first arrived there where some issues with our room. However, the hotel did take strides to fix the issue promptly. The hot water will run out quickly in the shower. The main reason that this hotel revived 3 stars instead of four stars is that there is no WiFi in the rooms. Also there are a lot of uneven pathways throughout the resort that are easy to trip and fall on without any warning signs so I would keep that in mind when booking a trip here.

Great Staff!

Super awesome resort. Daughter and I had a blast. Golf course is intimidating, challenging, but a great experience. People and staff super friendly. With very short notice the staff fit us in and made us feel very welcome. Ask and they will get it.

An interesting oasis in the desert alongside the Rio Grande River. It's a nice stop in for cocktails at the Thirsty Goat but the restaurant is rather inconsistent. They post photos of their dishes but the photos are caught off the web and are not of their own product.

Geared towards local guests but works for visitors as well. They provide enough activities and things to do locally you can hang out here and spend days in big bend state or national parks. Golfing is of course available as well though I didn't play here. Local bakery is very neat and tasty but call in your order ahead as they get busy. A few local shops and zip line experience is available as well. We stopped in on our drive through and made a point of stopping again. If you can get a camp site the grounds are very nice. If not they will help you find a non hookup site at nearby properties. Helpful amd friendly staff and people well maintained.

Very attentive staff. Charles was great waiter.had beef, chicken, shrimp fyitas with a prickle pear margarita& dark night. Thirsty Goat to watch sunset. Live music. Great golf course. Bryan from Wisconsin gave my husband lesson & he was happy with the improvement in his game. I had never golfed before & with Byrans instruction I was hitting pretty good & I only used 3 tees...Bob was very informative of the area's treasures in the area. Any ? Someone had the answer. Chelsea the activity director was very informative. So between ziplines, horses, golf,Big Bend National Park our 10 days flew by with many beautiful, exciting, times. I highly recommend a stay at the resort...but remember it is a desert in Texas. Also planning on the future with our friends a charter from Hou. &spend time again. The course has breath taking views all around, babbling brook, birds,& beautiful Texas flowering plants &trees. I loved it....truly a Texas Treasure.

If I could leave negative stars this place would get 5 at least. Do not go there if you are a senior or are disabled as they have no elevator to get to the second floor, the restaurant is at least a thousand feet from the parking lot and the sidewalk is Very uneven. We booked 3 rooms and we ended up with 2on one side of THE Main road and 1 on the other side. Place is a dive, avoid at all costs.

Clean, nicely appointed rooms. Extremely beautiful golf course, which was just as challenging. Limited dinner options, and any alternatives are about 20 miles away in Terlingua. Pool was ok, but very welcome in the extreme Texas heat.

Very nice old hotel in ranch style. We had our room in the main building. One feels transported back to the Western time. Everything was clean and well maintained. Very nice staff. Free coffee and water. At 42 degrees we enjoyed the beautiful pool area. The beach chairs in the shade were very comfortable. You can ride on a zip line. There is also a golf course and other activities. We did not test it. Unfortunately, the restaurant is relatively expensive, so no 5 stars. The landscape is breathtaking.

Great overall resort, and the best all inclusive resort option in the Big Bend area. It is becoming dated around the property and there are some services you'd expect such food and drink cannot be ordered from the pool and the "coffee shop" offers drip coffee only- no lattes. For a resort such as this, they need an espresso machine. The food quality at the restaurant is good as well as the drinks. It seems like some of the stone around the property is washed or washing out, lending to the dated look. The mini fridge in the room is nice as we kept snacks in the room for hiking etc. On site activities are great. Golf course is amazing. Like I said, great overall resort, just time they invested in some updates.

We go to west Texas to explore what the local and surrounding communities, people, and attractions have to offer. If you're looking to stay in a sheltered bubble of overpriced souvenirs and resort golf, this is the place. If you're looking for local adventure, keep driving.

The hotel is generally OK. I understand there's a significant premium for the location, but for price I expect a few basics: wifi (about half the resort is without it according to the reception staff, pending an upgrade next year), and for the trash to be cleared from our room (not left in a bag right outside our door all afternoon and night). A few other things were just a little off (the coffee shop had no hot water, we asked for resort transport for 2 and a vehicle with one seat showed up etc.). Golf course gets a 4* review, bar & restaurant are 3* for me.

My wife and I went to Lajitas for a four-day break...

My wife and I went to Lajitas for a four-day break and were actually disappointed. Yes, some things were great but others were not.

On the positive side, it's a beautiful drive to the resort and the golf at Black Jack's crossing made the trip worth while. While we are in our late 50s we like to do fun things when traveling. The first day we did a 4.5 hour rafting tour on the Rio Grande with Angell's Adventures. Our guide's name is Doug. We really enjoyed the trip and the river was moving fairly well. There were a couple of class 2 rapids that were fun. Doug took great care of us and ensured we were safe the entire trip. We also booked a zip line tour through Lajitas and that was great too. The zip line course was very close to the resort and most of the actual ziplines were long and fast.

On the negative side, we upgraded to a cottage so we would have a kitchen. Turns out the kitchen was a two burner stove and some pots and pans. No toaster, no microwave. And the refrigerator would not hold a gallon of water standing up. The rest of the room was fine except they don't vacuum the floors every day. We ate at the resorts restaurant the first night and the hostess asked if we had a reservation. It was 5:00 and there was one table of people seated inside and table seated outside. So I asked if reservations were required and she said no, but they were definitely preferred. The problem was that I felt like I was being scolded for not having a reservation for an empty restaurant. The waiter was good and the food was just okay. Basically what you would expect from a restaurant at a resort out in the middle of no where. Average food, high price. So we didn't inconvenience the staff we had dinner at the Starlight Theater. The prices were still high but the atmosphere and food was much better. It's about a 20 minute drive from Lajitas. They also don't have WiFi in the rooms. At $299 a night that's simply wrong. I know you are supposed to be on vacation but in today's connected world WiFi is expected.

After three days we ran out of things to do so we left a day early. After morning activities you basically stay inside to stay cool during the afternoon.

Too bourgeois to utilize the Terlingua lodges? Then stay at La Jitas Golf Resort. Staff's professionalism doesn't live up to the image, but it was still a decent experience. Great food selection and very beautiful property.

Not much of what it used to be. Town Square was literally abandoned at 4:30 in the afternoon on a Friday. This place used to be very lively and many people could be seen roaming around and having a good time. Not anymore. Very sad. Things were somewhat dirty and we chose to go eat in Terlingua instead.

Great place to stay couldn't ask for better amenities, food, and bar. However the review of 1 star is due to leaving a pair of very expensive binoculars in one of the rooms and it never being located by the cleaning crew. Staff acted like it was a burden to check the room the 3 times I called.

Spent three nights at Lajitas Golf Resort over Spring Break. Girls received spa treatments, my son and I did the combat shoot, we all golfed and also rode horses. Excellent all around. The range master for the shoot was top notch and the wranglers for the horseback ride were experienced and helpful. The golf course is one of the best I ve played and honestly, above my ability, but it s postcard gorgeous. The resort is pricey, but it s very remote and the staff goes out of their way to be accommodating. The only drawback was the woman in the jewelry shop that was rude to my wife and daughter while they were waiting to look at necklaces. Lost a sale there...
Was very pleased with the restaurant and on-site bakery/snack shop as well. Will be back.

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! Don't stay here unless you want to be ripped off. This place is not worth the money. What we expected was nothing close to what we got and paid for. Our room was dirty. Other than making the beds and giving us new towels each day was about it regarding cleaning our room. We had some items on the cow skin rug that were never vacuumed. We have a lot of travel experience and have stayed in "Golf/Resort/SPA" facilities, but this place came up way short of that.

We ate at the Candelilla for lunch. Food was good but nothing special. Lajitas is the golf resort and nothing more. Terlingua is 20 minutes away and is closer to BBNP. I would stay in Terlingua again if I returned.

Lajitas is a beautiful resort with something for everyone. The staff is very friendly and rooms are always clean. Tons of hiking both on resort and longer hikes just a short car ride to either the state or national parks. If you get the chance visit the stables for a ride, we did the two hour trail ride and it was amazing! Not only was our guide amazing, but you can't beat the scenery. We were last there 1/19/14

Not even sure I could find all the words to express how amazing our trip was. (Ex the dinning under stars $300.00 over priced and not worth it) the staff are friendly, warm and welcoming. We stayed at the RV park. Million dollar views, great biking, hiking and Sunsets. The pool was a bit chilly for this time if the year but clean and nice. Without a doubt we'll be back. On our 2 year adventure this is by far our favorite place so far. If you like this review please give it a thumbs up! Thank you

This review is for the course only as I haven't stayed at the resort. This course is very very nice. Played here 3 times so far. Very well maintained and they take pride in their work. It really shows. It's a challenging course which makes it even more fun. The views are phenomenal as well. As far as food I've only tried the hotdogs and a sandwich. Both were out of this world. I gave it 4 stars after today's round only because there was group of 9 playing in front of us. We caught up to the other 2 singles and formed a trio but we still had to wait for this huge group on every hole that wouldn't let us play through and kept shot gunning beers on the tees. I feel management should have been a bit more on top of it. Otherwise great course. Will be coming back.
