Very nice, clean, and quiet resort. Different activities for you to do. Food and drinks are good. A resort that we would come back to.

The scenery is lovely, but the staff is a circus troupe. Illegals who worked the kitchen and maintenance getting deported, chefs shooting off guns within distance of the RV park, Joe Portillo of the pro shop running over the local dog mascot while drunk, Charlie Hickman getting the kids all kind of drunk and high. I'm surprised the place hasn't been raided. Otherwise, lovely.

Place is dated but was comfortable none the less. Love the restaurant great service good food and drinks with a nice scenery outside. Nice little shops in the compound. Complementary ice on our departure from hotel was a nice perk.

Wonderful accommodations, finally really good food, and great history. One of Texas' most picturesque settings as well as being situated along one of America's great scenic highways makes it even better. Did I mention the golf? Fabulous all around!
Enjoyed the property and had a great vacation.
Enjoyed the property and had a great vacation.
--PROPERTY-- The property overall was pretty nice. It's pretty much in the middle of nowhere so I recommend getting there before sunset if possible to make finding it easier. We stayed in one of the "Officer's Quarters with a view" rooms(there are four Officers Quarter Rooms in a row, two smaller rooms in the middle and one larger room to each side). Great views, free wifi, mini fridge. Tried the restaurant once and it was ok but a bit expensive ...
--BAD-- In our first room(inner/smaller room) the hot water had a bit of a foul odor(type caused by a bad water heater). Notified the front desk and the maintenance guy was up within minutes and immediately moved us to the next room over. The first room also had an old 20" CRT TV(fail) but everything else was fine and the room was clean but for $200+/night I'd expect a lot better ...
--GOOD--: The second room(on the end/outer side) was a bit nicer. It had an additional small living room area w/ TV/DVD and couch. This room also had a 27" LCD TV(I don't go on vacation to watch TV but once it's dark outside there isn't much else to do in this area) ...
--OVERALL--: We had an amazing vacation; We came here in the middle of Dec and the weather was a little cool(60's) but still very nice; there were almost no other tourists around which was nice too ...
--RECOMMENDATIONS--: Horseback rides, use Lajitas Stables or Big Bend Stables instead of the resort for a better (and cheaper) experience. Check out the Terligua Ghost Town and eat at the Starlight Theater, also look up Terlingua, TX on Urbanspoon for more restaurant choices. Plan ahead and have maps or a GPS unit, our cell phones lost signal entering the Big Bend area and never found a signal once in the three days we were there. Fill up on gas often(not many stations around) and also before entering into Big Bend, there is one gas station inside the park and the prices reflect that. From the Hotel, Terlingua/Big Bend is east on Hwy 170. If you go west on Hwy 170 the road snakes along the Rio Grande and through some hills, *highly* recommend going for a drive along here(Lajitas to Redford is good), the scenery is stunning(one of National Geographics top road trips).

Beautiful views when sitting outside. Nice wait staff. Amazing salsa and the best fries I've had in a while! Tortilla chips were a tad greasy. Take the drive along Rio Grande to Tepees rest/picnic area and walk behind tepees for fantastic view. The drive up the big hill for an even grander lookout.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Perfect place to stay if you are not wanting a camping trip to big bend. The menu/food must have been updated because everything was delicious. Alexis was our favorite server but ALL the service from the restaurant to the front desk staff was amazing. I would agree with previous reviews that it is dated, but they are building more modern options. Personally, I think the ambiance is perfect. The pool is not quite was we were expecting but we were there in December so that was not an issue.

Beautiful golf course. The hotel is out dated but that s what I liked about it. The food should be better for the price and the wait staff is far from the greatest, but you have to realize how far you are from anything. If you can get past the small negatives your staying at a GOLF resort and it is a great golf course. If you have a slice bring some extra golf balls your gonna need them.

(Updated) We had a terrible experience with the on-site manager who argued with us when we tried to talk to her, but we were in touch with the general manager and the activities coordinator who were both very kind and helpful. Unfortunately, I still can't recommend staying here. Our phone calls often went unanswered or we were put on hold for extended periods of time. The room itself was fine but the bedding had stains. This place has potential but needs some attention from management.

The Lajitas Golf Resort property is nice. The issue is service! Maybe lack of staff. Maybe lack of training.
We played 2 rounds of golf. Over 3 days tried to call the restaurant for reservations or simply to order food 12 times. The restaurant NEVER answered. Finally, after a round of golf we stopped at the hostess desk of the restaurant. We were turned away because we didn t have a reservation. Also, reservations can t be made online. Oh and there were many empty tables.
Calling the front desk to ask the time of when the restaurant and pro shop were opened resulted in many calls with no answer.
The first day of gold we actually drove to the golf course because there was no answer at the pro shop.
Considering the price of this facility I feel like I m being very generous with the stars.
Pitiful!!!! Lacking!! Disappointing!

My fiance and I must share our amazing experience with Lajitas Golf Resort! We were greeted by Ms. Sandy Price and were given an in-depth tour of this resort as we have been debating for our upcoming wedding. We were absolutely treated with warmth and respect amongst many other things, practically felt like family. We loved everything about this resort, from the customer service, cleanliness, friendliness, beauty, and for being so accommodating. The cuisine is delicious! I recommend going to their bar and having dinner as well as their breakfast menu with unique items. Love this resort!

Outstanding far southwest Texas Resort offering upscale amenities and awesome views in the Big Bend National Park region of Texas. Wide variety of very comfortable accommodations from hotel/motel units to luxury condos and suites. Wonderful restaurant options and cocktail lounge. Spectacular Golf course that has to been seen to believe. Horse back riding, swimming pool, and lots of outdoor activities. Remote location is what makes this place so special.

Coolest location in the area, 1st week of June was 100-114. The pool was functional if a little run down as were the rooms. Staff have all been very nice and helpful we didn't use any of the other amenity since we just used the room as a staging place to go into the National Park each day.

Great resort, the only one of its kind within 100 miles of Big Bend. It's nestled deep in side a canyon underneath a 3000 ft Mesa and provides easy access to both the national park and state park

We stayed in Ambush cottage (actually a sizeable two-bedroom home with full kitchen, screened porch, outdoor patio and fire pit). It was wonderful! Super clean, beds were dreamy, the view was phenomenal. The resort is beautiful and staff are friendly; food options are good (esp w young kids). Our son had fun doing their Cowboy Action Shoot. If you re a golfer this is paradise in the springtime. Drive into Big Bend Natl. Park was not too far at all, maybe 30 minutes into the park to the entrance outside Terlingua. A general store next to the resort has staples. There s a beautiful drive along the Rio Grande and places to stop and explore the river if you drive west from the resort. Definitely worth the trip!

Stayed here to go visit big bend National Park. The food is a bit over priced and the price per night is also kind of pricey, but it's a resort so what would you expect? Would recommend to anyone going to big bend.

We stayed arcoss the road at the rv park. I called several times during the day to get a reservation for dinner but no one ever piked up or called back. Upon arriving the girl told us they were completely booked for the evening, so no reason to answer phone,,,,too rude for us so we won't be going back over there while we r here.

Pretty good place to stay but really not much else around if you're looking for a larger hotel with some amenities. It's about an hour from the Chisos mountain basin where a lot of the hiking trails begin in Big bend. They have a restaurant and bar on site and you can book a lot of excursions from the hotel as well. We did the dinner under the stars one night which was pretty cool. They also have zip lining and horseback riding as well. And of course they have golf. We stayed in a little house which was nice but it was really close to the resort which the website wasn't real clear about so I'm not sure I'd stay in the house again because you miss out on the hotel some because it's a few minutes drive from the hotel.

Great place to unwind. So much to do for everybody. Golf, horse back riding, ATV and Jeep rentals to tour the National Park. They have gun shooting as well. I recommend the combat package. AR 15s, combat shotguns and handguns. My son took the cowboy shootout package. Tiffany is the instructor and she was GREAT. This place has a great pool. The mountains are so beautiful. Terlingua Ghost town is a definiteb visit. Food And drinks. Bring the family! Or bring the hubby or wife....Great place to relax and unwind.

Great place near the entrance to the State Park and about a 30-40 drive to the entrance to the National Park. Loved the atmosphere of the resort. We didn't partake in many if the results amenities because we were up early and out late exploring the state and national parks. We stayed over Thanksgiving and the Thanksgiving buffet was worth the visit alone. My wife and I had what felt like three helpings if everything before we finally couldn't eat anymore.
