Absolutely horrible customer service! I wish I could give it a minus 1. I went in looking for rain gear to wear when walking my dog. I found some jacket and pant sets and went looking for a sales person to direct me to a place that I could try them on and get advice on sizing. When I eventually found a sales person, he told me that he doubted that they had anything that would fit me. It was a cold wet day and I had dressed in layers, so I may have looked a little larger than I actually am, but even if I was a plus size, that was an incredibly rude reply. Since I really needed some new rain gear I tried them on anyway and ended up getting a large - not extra large - not a plus size and it was big enough to fit over thick sweats and a hoodie.
Dear Adventure Attic - don't worry, I will not be shopping there again and will tell all of my friends not to either!

I had heard really good things about this store from fellow hikers and I was excited to check out the store and purchase a new pair of hiking boots this Sunday afternoon. I walked into the store with a friend and was not greeted by the staff, instead I browsed the sales section while they discussed setting one of their friends up on a blind date. We awkwardly headed to the back of the store to look at the hiking boots but I felt too uncomfortable to ask for any help trying any pairs on. Honestly, I felt as though I would be interrupting the sales clerks conversation. I browsed with my friend for a few minutes and then left. As we walked out the sales clerk was texting on her phone and didn't even look up to say goodbye or ask if we had found what we were looking for. We went to MEC and I purchased a pair of hiking boots there with AMAZING service, MEC even got on the phone to order the boots for me from Victoria BC. I wish I could give zero stars, I was so disappointed.

Great place to get setup for almost any adventure, I like supporting local as I know places like this care alot more then say mec or online stores that you may save a few $.

Surprisingly good selection for a small store. Sells just about everything one could need. Also carries replacement buckles and nalgene lids, lots of fuel, and some backpacking meals - all stuff that has become hard to find these days.

I wish I could rate this place at 0. This happened to me a while ago while I was shopping at this store. I had an absolutely horrible experience. I dealt directly with the owner while trying to exchange a high priced item and he was beyond rude, even going as far as to throw my item at me. At one point he yelled at me. Why? I was taking too long to do up the zipper for the coat I was exchanging. Then I had to place it in a bag on my own, because he wasn't going to help me. He leaned against the counter and just watched me with his arms folded and with a scowl on his face. I did not make a scene and remained as polite as I could. I tried to bring the conversation to a good place but he was having non of it. I went home and told my husband what happened. He sent an e mail, to which the owner did respond nicely....But the damage was done. There are a lot of great local businesses around but this is not one of them. I have never stepped a foot inside this store since. I shop in Dundas all the time, great town, I just avoid this place. And when shopping with my friends you can be sure the story comes up. I did not deserve to be treated that way.

We have been shopping at Adventure Attic for years and have always been very pleased with the service and the quality of the items purchased there.
We have bought gear as well as clothing.
We purchase most of our stocking stuffers there...everyone we know loves warm socks!

I found Adventure Attic a great friendly place to shop! The staff were extremely helpful !!! They have an awesome WINTER SALE on right now and the store is in the beautiful town of DUNDAS!! . . . what more can you ask for!!

Amazing Staff! I was only in town for a few days and had a warranty issue with my Osprey bag...Sarah and Misty went above and beyond...they were able to talk with the Osprey rep. and have my bag shipped and replaced within a few days before I had to leave town. Definitely my first choice in the GTA for outdoor & travel needs. Thanks again everyone!

An outstanding selection of gear for so many sports, to be sure, but what makes this place awesome is the staff who don't try to oversell you, ever. I bought a new pair of hiking poles and am so happy with the mid-upper range pair that were suggested, and can attest to the fact that hiking socks do in fact make a huge difference, and they suggested pairs that do the job and aren't excessively expensive. That kind of service makes them golden in my books.

Would give them a 0 if I could. Purchased some coats there and ended up needing to return them. Went in to do the return and were basically scolded by the salesperson for trying to return them as it would be a "blow for the store". He then proceeded to try and convince us to keep the jackets and made us wait while he took off to the backroom for some reason (I am convinced it was to have a hissy fit). The whole process was very awkward and took us at least 30 minutes. Why have a return policy if you aren't willing or happy to honour it? While we were making the initial purchase we had even asked if we could return them and they said yes. We were happy to get our money back and walk out of there. I have NEVER in my life been treated so badly at a store. I guess most people shop there because they live close by and its probably more convenient to shop there then drive to MEC or Sporting Life, etc. We will NEVER be returning to Adventure Attic. Even if their prices were competitive or cheaper (WHICH THEY AREN'T) we would rather take our business elsewhere. We urge others to do the same.

Great little store, lots of goods, very knowledgeable staff that were very friendly. I would highly recommend to those looking for a hiking or outdoors store.

Excellent service today!

We had just come from Sail where there was no service! We stood in front of the hiking boots for 5 minutes -- one staff person was adjusting shoes 20' to the right and another 25' to the left. Then a 'Customer Service rep came and spoke to one of them -- nobody said a word to us! Can you imagine -- 5 minutes and not a word!

What a pleasant surprise at Adventure Attic. We were looking for hiking shoes and we were given terrific advice. We appreciated the suggestion that we try the boots on a tread mill for 2 weeks and if we don't like them we can replace them with a different pair.

We'd definitely go back!

I bought a sleeping mat here, the staff member that helped me was very helpful. However.....when I opened the mat and inflated it as per manufacturers instructions it was clear that there was a tear in the mat fabric ...when I returned the product the Store owner not only suggested but directly accused me of deliberately breaking the mat ( Why I would do this is beyond me) terrible service..I will never shop here again, what an insult!!

Best place to buy value foam ground mats for sleeping on when camping - better value than Canadian Tire and big outdoor chain shops around the Hamilton area!

This has always been my favourite store in Dundas since I arrived in 2007.This is why I currently work here! Since starting work here recently, I am amazed at the volume and quality of the product. Everyone who works here cares about the products and the customers. They have so much knowledge to offer and are happy to assist you!
