The Adelaide Oval remains one of cricket's most picturesque Test venues despite recent developments to increase the capacity and upgrade the facilities. Its position, situated amid gardens and trees and with the spire of St Peter's Cathedral as a backdrop, gives it a quintessentially English feel.

The ground opened in 1873 amid bitter local disputes over boundaries and money, and in its early years the pitches were often dreadful. Things gradually improved, although Adelaide's tendency to attract controversy remained. In 1884-85 it staged its first Test, but that was dogged by arguments with the English tourists over appearance money

Drink and food prices are a rip off I would like to have a beer at the footy but now don't as a matter of principle.
Disability access is a joke, drop off area rediculous choked with non disability traffic (reported to staff who did not care) not to mention unhelpful and lazy staff in general attended MCG in wheelchair and staff were brilliant chalk and cheese.
Attempted to call Adelaide Oval regarding Disability access went to message bank left message no call back ordinary fans are just cattle or cash cows to be ripped off at every opportunity.

Went for a stadium tour. I understand the stadium can get busy but yesterday most things were out of bounds. No problems with that but they could have said before taking full money for the tour. Given the choice, I would have come back as I had brought an overseas visitor and the very things we wanted to see were all out of bounds.

Went to AFL match. Disorganised staff meant having to retrace our steps because no one knew how to access our seats. Food cold and unappetizing as well as being horrenously overpriced. Not on hurry to return will watch on tv in future.

The catering at Adelaide Oval is a disgrace. Food van disappear and prices increased at outlets by 50%. Stadium management are out of touch with what patrons require. No pies available at a night game. Did they not know it was a sellout. Crazy!!!

I came all the way from Melbourne to see this place and this place did not disappoint to me. Although there it was a working day, and the there was no game that day, but still the staff allowed me to enter the place and take pictures. The stadium is huge and very well maintained. Best place so far in Adelaide.

Amazing ground that has been upgraded without losing the history and original features that made it so special to begin with.
Tours conducted day and night, even if you just want to check it out quickly you can walkthrough and see the pitch as well as a little history about the ground for free.
Highly recommended.

The single best sports stadium in Australia. Stunning venue. However, prices for everything are bordering on horrendous. And it's cash free. Despite the prices, a must go to venue especially for cricket Tragics

It is recommended to Koreans who have never watched AFL. You can meet some really hot Australian people and it is not known around the world like PL, BUNDESLIGA and LALIGA in Europe but it is enough to feel that much heat. The place I went to was the place where two teams in Adelaide were playing as a home stadium, and the facilities were well equipped, so it was easy to watch games, toilets and stalls. And the seats were clean and spacious and I liked to sit and watch, and I was impressed with AFL after my first visit because the entertainment and fans were kind and nice!

Fun
