Great game with the Crows women winning and getting in to the grand final. Access into the Oval was a bit disappointing, our ticket told us to enter via Eastern gate but it was closed. Couldn't spend any money on food or drinks there was only 1 oulet open on the eastern side, so would have missed half of the game queuing up to get somthing. If you want supporters there Adelaide Oval please value the customer needs. Thanks Kim

Great accommodation with very comfortable bedding. Loved the complimentary drinks and coffee on arrival. Food at Bespoke restuarant was extraordinary. Views from the room was stunning but best of all was having views of the stadium from the restaurant. Absolutely loved every minute of our stay! We will be back!

The Adelaide Oval remains one of cricket's most picturesque Test venues despite recent developments to increase the capacity and upgrade the facilities. Its position, situated amid gardens and trees and with the spire of St Peter's Cathedral as a backdrop, gives it a quintessentially English feel.
The ground opened in 1873 amid bitter local disputes over boundaries and money, and in its early years the pitches were often dreadful. Things gradually improved, although Adelaide's tendency to attract controversy remained. In 1884-85 it staged its first Test, but that was dogged by arguments with the English tourists over appearance money and who would umpire. In 1932-33, the Bodyline affair reached its nadir at The Oval when Bill Woodfull and Bert Oldfield were struck, and on the third day mounted police patrolled to keep the 50, 962 spectators in order. But these days the pitches are true and disputes rarer.
The ground has hosted many sports other than cricket - the biggest attendance there was 62,543 to watch the 1965 SANFL final between Port Adelaide and Sturt - as well as concerts.
The ground is a true oval, which makes straight sixes a rarity but ones square of the wicket more common. The western public and members grandstands and the famous scoreboard are all items listed on the City of Adelaide Heritage Register, and two news stands finished in 2003 have raised the capacity to 34,000 (for football) and 32,000 for cricket.

Cleanliness was gr8, hospitality was good except for the food inside to be more specific the public side not the members. Gettimg back on topic The Kiosks are overpriced as well as the fact if the quantity of viewers is quite low the oval probably use thier old stock of food because when we went for the Knockout match at the oval the food was the worst it would have been, we and the other people sitting around us were also complaining.
Recommendations for viewers- Bring your own food not in glass tupperware or bottles and no outside alcohol.
Recommendations for oval- More variety of kiosks and/or lower the prices of the food that your catering.
Thanks

Adelaide Oval is so expensive to purchase food and drinks. I love to have company of my family with me but it is just to expensive by the time the entrance fee and consumables are charged and paid for.
We have tried and suggest to bring in your own keeping in mind your bag will be checked at the gate.
Also can't use cash to purchase items anymore, have changed over to credit cards only.
This is impossible for the likes of myself who doesn't have or use cards as payment for purchasing.
They can not refuse cash monies as it is legal tender under the law as a card is only a transaction device to say monies can be taken out of a bank account.
It is a shame that these thing take away from the enjoyment of the venue and whatever the performance maybe either sports or the arts.
In reflection it is a beautiful venue but to expensive for the pocket. One can only hope prices would be reduced which would then allow more to visit and spend rather than bring within their bags.
Maybe also stop people from getting to the oval so early obtaining and saving a seat by leaving items on them and venturing out to a nearby hotel, cafe etc for food and drinks before the start of the games. This good for the outside hotels & cafes but the lose in revenue for the Adelaide Oval venue.

Adelaide Oval is a brilliant venue for sporting and entertainment events! I would absolutely recommend going there if you can, as it has a brilliant atmosphere when there is a good crowd, and the food and drinks are amazing! Plenty of amenities too, and a great view of the city and New Year s Eve fireworks!

Joined the small group stadium tour, lasted around 1hr 45 mins. Learnt about the cricket and Aussie rules played at the stadium, helped by the guide having played both at a good level. Also time for a look at the Sir Don Bradman exhibition. Very interesting.

This stadium is very special! Everything fits. And in my living room there is a flag: "we are Port Adelaide".
And I want to go back there.
And I'm back here: January 19th, 2020.
Unfortunately, no season. I just go to the beach!

For an event at Adelaide Oval it is a great experience. There is a lot of fun activity outside the area aswell. As footy fans it s the outside excitement and promotional which is fun to be apart of. Good security presence and checks. As a member of footy it was very ease of access to food, bathrooms and entries/exits. Public is more of a maze and a long way off for food and toilets aren t right there. But that is the benefits showing of members and still ok for general.
Food is expensive. Pack own and/or save a pay cheque for feeding the family.
There s an easy flow to arrive at events. It s a pleasant ground to be in.
Have been seated on the field for an event on a stage. Was very theatrical. These events are harder for little children. It s a case of luck of the draw, if seated further back and not too many taller people in front. But the atmosphere was fun all round.
Always good to support local city events. Sometimes there s been building works with thousands of people having to walk the detour. Which is not far but just inconvenient. That s city life though. Upgrades and progress.
I like the Adelaide oval and is good for the family.
