Great library, when it is quiet. Everyone who comes here is loud, even the librarians. Unnecessarily loud all the time. Would give five stars if there were set rules on being quiet in a LIBRARY.

I give a rating of 2 stars only because the Adams County Public Library (for Pennsylvania) only gives information about hours for the main location in Gettysburg PA. Some activities at other locations are listed but there's no link to find more information. So, the Trone Library had craft activities during the 1st week of July... 1. Where is that library branch location?; 2. What time & day does each craft activity start?; 3. Which age groups are scheduled at what time?; 4. Address for library is not provided. VERY INCOMPLETE!

Way too noisy. Very nice staff but noise level is not acceptable. This is the loudest library I have ever been in. We use "a" library to work in from time to time so we can have a quiet space and it is very irritating knowing that we cannot count on the one in our town. The quiet space should be posted and enforced in any library. One other issue is the creaky chairs from the year of the flood. I understand keeping the older chairs for budget reasons but at least have the maintenance person turn them over and add some soap or caulking and tighten the screws. That would fix some of the annoyance. I am actually willing to do that for free for them.

I love this library system but there are some flaws. There are not enough books to supply the demand of six branches. There are some books/movies/cd's etc. that only have 1 to 3 items for six libraries. Thats not enough they should have at least more than 4 because then the wait time for ONE item the amount is high rather than fighting over an item. I have a book that i really enjoyed and returned it because someone else has it on hold it, but now they have it over due and there is a long line to have it because they only have one book. That could have been prevented if they get more books in to prevent this issue. I said something and they made it seem like it was my fault because of the way I placed the hold. No it is not. Just get more items to supply the demand of how many people patronize the library, or be a little bit more stricter on your late policy, because having one book for six libraries is a little bit rediculous. I will still patronize this library system (only when I need it) but I wont make it a habit of coming to this library system because of this issue.
