This is our second time using Action Heating and Cooling. Because the heating system is radiant hot water, they sent out Mike again. Mike called me when he was on his way so I could meet him at the property.

He was able to troubleshoot the reason why the heat went out and fixed it pretty quickly. Since he had some time in the hour billing, he took a look at the other furnace for the upstairs unit and did some preventive maintenance on it..which would have most likely required another call down the line if we had let it go longer.

I feel Mike was honest about what needed to be done and he worked efficiently. He explained the issues to me when I had questions. He also pointed out a maintenance issue in the basement that was unrelated to the furnaces so I could correct it immediately.

I recommend Action Heating and Cooling and if you have an older radiant heat system, ask for Mike.

Had an initial bad experience with one of their techs. We talked with the owner who was apologetic and offered to have a different tech come out and take a look at our problem. The next tech came out and was able to help us while also being polite. It s good to know there are still companies out there that care about their customers and customer satisfaction/service. The owner was very nice to work with and talk with.

Thank you for the prompt service! Your agent Bryant was very courteous, knowledgeable and explained what he was doing along the way. The radio commercials work. Thank you, again, Joe Pekus. Kristine R Surek 7/7/14

Alex was quick to respond to our questions. He came out, looked at our old A/C unit and offered options for the next steps. His candor and upbeat attitude were refreshing.

The installation was quick and while it took some time to install, he was professional and did not leave any mess. Additionally, he installed a new thermostat we purchased.

I recommend this business.

Kurt B offered very friendly service. He gave a detailed description of the possible problems with our furnace, and did not pressure us into a specific decision in how to fix the problem - aka pressure us into spending unnecessary money. We would recommend this company!

I had such a horrible experience with this company. Especially with their tech Jim. Who by the way is very unprofessional and rude. As soon as he saw my furnace he said, I'm not touching this. He did not know how to trace conduit for incoming power disconnect switch. Another tech had to come out and take a look at it. Joe was more professional and so knowledgeable, friendly, and answered all my questions. You can tell he knew what he was doing. Not like Jim who conducted poor service. I would not recommend this company at all. I even left a voicemail for the manager. Not a surprise she never called me back. Shows you how this company conducts their business. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

This place is a rip off don't go here!! they charged me 200 dollars and didn't fix anything. The man came at 8:08 and left at 8:24 and they charged an extra 85 dollars. And let me remind you I still don't have any heat. Thanks a lot for nothing.

The tech who came out had no idea what was wrong and spent half the time texting photos to "a more experienced person" to try to figure out what was wrong and the other half trying to take apart and put the furance back together. After an hour and a half he still had no idea what was wrong and didn't have any idea where to go next to figure out the problem. I may as well have thrown the $213 it cost me into the furnace and saved myself the half day I blocked off for his arrival. He left and my furnace was no closer to being fixed. If you use this company ask for a tech to come out who has training in the field or for one to accompany the lesser trained employee. Otherwise you may as well google the problem and attempt to do it yourself.

Being new to the area I called them off the radio. The tech did what I needed them to do and it was less then I expected. The tech asked me to share my thoughts on Google or Facebook. No Facebook so I guess Google it is.

These guys did the job and they did it right. They completed a total install of a new central air system in my 2600 sq ft home in under 4 hours. Never have I had a contractor tell me that they were going to complete the job in a certain time frame and actually do it in that time, NEVER! I highly recommend Action Heating and Cooling..

Justin was my service provider. He provided me with excellent service today. He appears to be very knowledgeable in his field and was able to solve the problem very quickly and efficiently. It was very nice to work with someone as pleasant as Justin.

Joe was very responsive and was able to get us on their schedule really fast; the crew who installed the ac was nice, efficient, and did a great job cleaning up. We were really happy with the service and the price. I definitely recommend them!
Addition: Justin came out to do a maintenance check on our furnace and was excellent- friendly, professional, and clearly explained the work he'd done. He also gave me a call as he was on his way over, which I appreciated it. I've had all good experiences with Action!

Highly highly recommend! After calling multiple places on a 90 degree day with our AC out at our business, they were the first one who could come out the same day. They came quickly and were very friendly and professional and knowledgeable. They were able to fix the problem that day. I m so glad I found them so I don t have to call multiple places for same day service

Well about a year ago we got the full work up from this company. When they made the appointment. They showed up on time. We made the appointment. They canceled or 'were on their way ' what a surprise our furnace quits about 4 days after the warranty. No heat at all in my house. For 3 hours we have been told the service tech is on his way. Only to be now told that we are 5th I nine. It's 20 something degrees out. Oh and this company helps out low income people. By charging 149 per half hour

Real nice guy but prior to him coming out I explained the issue and what part was needed but then I still had to pay for technician to drive to the store and pick up the part. I also found the part online for 1/2 the cost...

The furnace guy who installed my new furnace didn t do a professional job. He ran the furnace power line/neutral wire with the ceiling lights in the same room as my furnace. In electrical term, you don t do that was what I was told. You would have to know a little bit about electrical work to understand what I m talking about here and the furnace guy that day explained it to me pretty well so now I know a thing or three about how some company cut corners. Instead of the previous guy running the furnace to it's own circuit breaker switch too, he had it running with my kitchen/laundry machine breaker switch. I was also told it should be on its own switch...
The furnace guy who came out that day spent four hours trying to figure out what was wrong with my furnace. Getting late and frustrated, he left to get parts, changed out parts, checked wires, up and down the attic and still couldn't figure it out.
So what had happened the night before was, I had replaced my ceiling light fixture and moved a wire, not knowing that, that was the furnace nuetral wire that was connected with the light fixture. Actually the furnace wire fell out of place so I left it aside cause I didn't know where it went to and due to sparks. I did tell the furnace guy a few times what went different before the furnace stopped working, but he didn't think the lights were to blame. I didn't think so either, to why would anybody wire it with the lights,... anyhow. So then after a few hours, he goes to look at the light wires that I had explained to him earlier and he tapes the loose wire which is the furnace wire together and guess what, the furnace started.
The furnace guy was pretty frustrated I tell ya... I felt bad cause he looked mentally exhausted.
I'm not too happy at all with the work and the company and the huge fee! I also later noticed that my filters don t fit my furnace. I would have to bend the filter into place to fit the filter in. I hope that Action do come back and do the wiring the correct way at least!

I had a heating issue on a Sunday (Super Bowl) Night where my furnace was only blowing cool air (mind you it was probably the coldest night .

Nevertheless, I made it through! I called Monday and spoke with Gloria and explained what the issues were with the furnace, she asked a series of questions in regards to what was happening. She then suggest I check the filter, in which I am smh because it should have been changed months ago.

I changed the filter and the heat kick in...I want to let everyone know Action Heating & Cooling are the BEST because of people like GLORIA! Thank you so much for saving what could have been hundreds of $$$ dollar to buying filters that cost less than $20 buck. Gloria you ROCK!!

I had a new furnace installed by Action in 2013 it needed service I called and was the worse service. I called the after hours line and then almost 24 hours later, I got a return call back asking "how can they help?" Really??? I asked about the their fees and I was told $89.00 service call, plus $89.00 per hour parts and labor for the repair. I then asked if any of fees are applied to the repair, I was told "no", but if I had Energy Assistance they could come out free and someone could come out right away!
I did go with another HVAC who was called I gave them the troubleshooting shooting #of flashes, he came at 4:30p and he was there, diagnosed and repaired and left in less than 20 minutes and I paid one flat rate!!!!!
I rate Action Heating as terrible!

So the technician showed up at the end of May to fix my cooling issue and spent 3 and a 1/2 hours there and he cleaned it out really good, said there were no leaks, put more freon in my A/C system, and put some sort of leak guard in my system. It worked well for 3 weeks only. I called the company back and a different technician came who was there for about the same amount of time and told me that he found a leak! My AC system was empty of freon again which means that the 1st technician never found the leak and now a few weeks after the 2nd technician came I have not had any issues. I still got charged over $300 for something that should have been fixed the 1st time. I will be calling the Better Business Bureau because they charged me again for that service call and it should not have been a charge at all because the technician that came the 1st time clearly did not know what he was doing. So why should I be penalized!!

Set a new water heater and installed bath fan. Left without turning water back on and furnace circuit shorted. Once water was turned back on, pipes around new heater began leaking. Called them to come back out to fix, which they said would be $350. Mistakes happen, but not at home owners expense.

This company is absolutely terrible. I have problems with my hot water heater. The pilot light wont stay lit so i have no hot water. The landlord came over and tried to fix it for me the other day, we thought it was actually fixed, but my landlord informed me that he was leaving the country for 2 weeks and would be unreachable. He said if the heater remains giving me problems i should call action heating, cooling, and plumbing bcos they have their sticker on the unit meaning they r always the ones he calls for service. The unhelpful receptionist at Action told me that my landlord would have to call them because its his property and he would be responsible for payment. I explained to her that no I was going to pay for it and he would reimburse me later and that he told me to call you if i continued to have problems with the hot water. The receptionist didnt care about these facts and was unmoved by my story. So when i tried to clarify what she was telling me i said so bcos my landlord is gone for 2 weeks and unreachable i cant get my hot water turned back on bcos of some policy you supposedly have?? Her response was yes and she continued to babble nonsense as i hung up in frustration. What a bunch of idiots. Im sitting here at home looking at my $5,000 cash in disbelief. Like i have money and im gonna pay u cash on arrival whether its a 4500 dollar replacement of the water heater or a 1 dollar replacement of a part of the water heater......So whats the problem? Apparently this company no longer wants our business or our money. And they have no compassion for a.customer in need, for a man without hot water......Way to do business guys...bravo

Had 2 tune-ups & some minor fixes (replaced humidifier controller, fan & radiator valve) of our home forced air furnace & rental property boiler this morning by Action Heating & Cooling. We appreciated Mike's availability with a few days notice to look at both the furnace & boiler this morning, as we specifically requested a steam boiler expert for our needs due to issues with generalists who aren't as familiar with single-pipe steam boilers. Talked with Tanya a few days ago to schedule it, and was told the $75 hourly rate for boiler work & tune-ups & the flat $129 fee for forced-air furnace tune-ups. Was charged both a flat $150 boiler tune-up fee & new $99 hourly rate (1 hour today) for the boiler tune-up that took 20 minutes & wasn't complete compared to the last tune-up with Action (just cleaned burners & raised pressuretroll this time-not recommended to increase pressure in our setup), didn't clean low-water cut-off probe or water sight glass. Verified that experts recommended against adding more water than needed, so didn't take his advice to flood the boiler with a 2 minute vs. 10 minute current low-water cut-off water refill delay due to system condensate water returning in about 5 minutes anyway. The white plastic drain-box was left off the furnace after the tune-up and we noticed about a gallon of water around it later that evening. Called the after hours number for service and didn't have a good experience with the operator-she didn't provide her name & told us we'd be billed for the trip to fix the leaking furnace. So much for the 30 day labor warranty guarantee we see on our invoice from a few hours earlier! We observed some contradictions in the advice we were given about steam boilers as well-we recommend finding another company or doing as much as possible yourself since steam boilers are a lost art these days and modern forced air furnaces can be problematic (if not put back properly) as today's drain leak shows. Update later tonight: Matt called back & stopped over to verify the leaking water was due to the drain not being clamped-we had put it back ourselves while waiting for him to arrive an hour or two so after calling. He was friendly, but also forgot something-flipping the power switch to the furnace back on when he left. We appreciated he remembered and called us about it later that evening.
