The food was marginal. We had the shrimp and grits which was just okay. Don't get the fried pickles unless you like lots of batter on large pickle wedges. The chicken in the chicken and waffles was dry and lacked flavor. Music was great though.

Great southern food and a great beer selection. I like the fact that they did not overlook their tequila. Good tequila selection and it's usually my poison of choice. If your a gator or seahawks fan this is your place.

Slated as a hawks bar. Staff roots for opposing teams. I was there during the Jets Hawks game and the manager was wearing Jets gear. As a Hawks fan I feel like an outsider as far as football fans in the area cause my team is so far away and was disappointed to find the Hawks central bar was the same. Was hoping for a welcoming feeling like home.

Bar that has grander aspirations. Food is decent, but space is sparse and doesn't feel quite comfortable. During the warm weather they have the patio open and it helps make up for the space inside.

For a BBQ place, they had some delicious vegetarian options and a clearly marked menu showing the items that were vegetarian. The staff were friendly. Tonight they had a decent cover rock band. The beer selection is respectable.

[TL;DR] Great for happy hour specials, also bottomless mimosas and bloody mary bar at brunch. Food is good, but quality can waver. Good spot for live music and trivia nights steps away from Columbia Heights Metro. Plenty of vegetarian items for a BBQ place.

Acre 121 advertises traditional Southern and Low Country food, and its menu certainly doesn't appear to disappoint, but inconsistency in food quality often detracts from the offerings. Living right next door, I've always enjoyed the location (formerly inhabited by Commonwealth) as an easy stop off after work for happy hour or a convenient dinner.

Been here at least a dozen times for various meals and my best suggestion is a good weather afternoon happy hour on the patio or Saturday/Sunday brunch with bottomless mimosas. They can handle solo diners and groups easily but live music or trivia nights can get crowded (and smoky around the entrance).

Food is good southern fare, but if you're a true southerner, you might not be very impressed by the options. I found the ribs and brisket to be tough rather than tender, and often brunch dishes come out of the kitchen barely warm or cold. The happy hour appetizers are good fare and go well with the discounted drinks.

Worth giving a try, but it's more likely to become a regular spot for its drinks and nightly events than its food.

Acre 121 was a last minute brunch find on President's Day, but I will definitely be back! They were so nice when we had to call 3 times to change our reservation times and the service was great! They have the widest variety of mimosas I have ever seen in DC and the food was delicious too! The steak and eggs Benedict was AMAZING! I will be returning very soon!

One of those places that looks really good, the menu sounds great, the location is amazing.... the delivery, doesn't quite follow through. The live music is usually quite good, and the brunch is cheap and bottomless. The food has gotten better since the new chef got there but, with so many choices I don't know that I'd pick this place unless I really wanted the live music part.
