We had an excellent time in the Ardeche in August 2018. Good tented accommodation (yes, with beds), very friendly staff, great activities, and (considering its all under canvas) reasonable food.

I took my 8 year old daughter on a weeks activity week to Acorns Brecon Beacons gleaming site in August 2018. We had an amazing time, the activities were great fun, the staff were excellent and so helpful, we met lots of lovely people and my daughter made loads of friends! Definitely recommend

Our school booked with acorn adventure, all parents fully paid, children very excited, acorn adventure cancelled our children s school trip due to Covid, fair do s, but now they will not reschedule or refund any of the money we have all paid, lots of hardworking parents lost there money and lots of upset children, no doubt staff at acorn adventure will be furloughed and company will be receiving government grants, they will not answer our questions as to what they have done with our money, removing comments and reviews that have been left by parents expressing there concerns and views, please do not book with this company especially if your a school, our children s schools been left to pay parents from the schools money that s meant to be for our children s books, theme days activities and now more than ever hand wash hand sanitisers , as if anyone s not got enough stress going on at the moment, least acorn adventure will be having a great Christmas party paid for by us hardworking parents, absolutely disgusting!!!!

I have organised a trip with Acorn Adventure for 4 years now and I cannot recommend them enough. The trips are always really well organised and the staff are always incredibly helpful. I would not use any other company for a trip to The Ardeche. It is the highlight of my year and something the students talk about for years after their trip.

Fantastic. Could not recommend the company highly enough. I have used Acorn for the past 5 years to take our students to the Ardeche. Whether we have taken 35 or 90 students, the staff are absolutely fantastic and ensure we have a brilliant time whilst away. Kim is brilliant in the office and makes sure that everything we want is catered for & Sarah the Centre Manager always has a wonderful staff and is always on hand. Can't wait to go again in 2019.

Fantastic trip to the Ardeche. We went on the family trip to the Ardeche Gorge in August 2018, the trip down by coach was rather log and tedious - take as much stuff as you can on the bus to make yourself comfortable and able to sleep. But the camp itself was fantastic fun and we met lots of great people and made some life long friends. The kayak trip down the Ardeche was the highlight, but we found that all of the activities we very well organised, fabulous fun, and very confidence building for the kids and adults alike. The staff in camp were brilliant.
Accommodation is very basic, do not expect creature comforts, and the camp food is likewise very basic, but this is a great value trip and you should expect the rough along with the smooth, do not go if you are worried about breaking a nail or where you can plug in our hair straighteners, you will spend a lot of the daytime wet and wearing harnesses and/or life preservers. Showers vary from cold to tepid, through to boiling hot! Of course the kids did not worry a jot about any of that stuff and had an absolute blast!

Acorn Family holidays are simply brilliant. We've had the pleasure of going on two now once to Brecon in the Pods and this year to Dordogne. Both were amazing! Beautiful locations, amazing staff and being cooked for is always a treat. We loved both experiences and most especially enjoying time together as a family and having fun doing all the activities. We've also been fortunate to make some lovely friends along the way. That's the beauty of being with other families. As parents we get time to relax and socialize a little in the evenings and our sons, who love meeting other children and making friends get to play and have fun. No matter what the ages they all seem to mix and have fun together. Its win win. As soon as we come back we're looking forward to the next one. Its a family tradition now. Acorn family holidays simply work and we cant recommend them highly enough ( -:

We booked a school trip to this company our children were meant to go on in May which unfortunately got cancelled due to the current circumstances, but instead of them offering a date to re schedule or a refund they have refused to do either. Which is totally disgusting! They are letting the school take the blame and responsibility, and when they were questioned were unable to give us an answer and blocked us and removed posts

I have renamed this company ACORN HORRORDAYS! We visited their flagship Ardeche region and were horrified by the appalling tents, food rations and aging, poorly maintained camp site littered with lorry containers. We left after two days, complained to the organisation and the quality of customer service speaks volumes for the standard of the organisation overall - appalling! If I could give it zero out of 5 I would do. Family adventure holidays at their worst. The brochures completely oversell and the company seriously under delivers!!

Don't send your kids on a school holiday with these guys - they refuse to talk to you because you are just a parent, not a 'direct' customer; 'the school is their customer'... they refuse to put anything in writing. Well dodgy if you ask me!

We've been on two family holidays with acorn. Once to wales and then to Spain, we had an awesome time. The kids really enjoyed it, food was good, instructors were fab. Tents are basic but ok and the cabins in Spain were much better than the tents but still quite basic but all in all good value for money.

Acorn Adventure - Club Corezze Dordogne.

Acorn Adventure - Club Corezze Dordogne.

This is our second Acorn Adventure holiday as a family, I've 2 daughters aged 13 & 15, they both really enjoyed it. Accommodation was basic but clean with a en suite shower room.
The activities are varied and really well organised, we could not fault the onsite staff and the instructors were excellent, especially with the kids.
The one negative point was the food, the first night we were impressed lots of salad stuff, rice, pasta, meats and fruit, but unfortunately after that the food was poor, you don't expect anything special when on these type of holidays and we're not fussy eaters, but pretty much everyone felt the same.
Despite that one negative I would fully recommend this holiday if you want a fun, active holiday where kids can be kids in a beautiful part of France.

We booked last year for August- 2 adults and 2 children aged 12 for Ardeche. The call centre did not explain a two-tier pricing policy for tents and mis sold our trip to Ardeche. The activity guides at the campsite were excellent however the Acorn centre manager on location and the sales Director at Acorn attempted to ignore, misrepresent and avoid any solutions to our concerns. The pre-information did not explain the true state of the campsite, the tented accommodation or poor scheduling. You expect basic tented accommodation, but we received no basic beds or chairs and we slept on the floor. We were told we should have been aware that there was an upgrade option that could have been selected pre-arrival! No other options were offered

Others on the site did not complain but were not made aware of the pricing system. Many had paid the same but had better facilities. Acorn had run out of basic equipment but refused to be open and honest and offer basic non-monetary solutions.

I would urge people to avoid this company and would not recommend this holiday due to the attitude that you have paid and refusal to solve our concerns about pricing, pre-arrival information and onsite attitudes and conditions. In addition, Acorn over work the skilled guides and many were poorly due to their working conditions.

Our Guide Trip to Italy was AMAZING, worth all the fundraising etc and the girls are still buzzing about it now. The Centre Staff were all brilliant, the food was great with lots of seconds available and the programme was full on but perfect. Stunning scenery and awesome natural settings for the activity. We ve already been asked when we will be doing it again !! Thanks Acorn, we will be back

You don't go on these holidays for luxury!
You get a tent, a bed and you get fed.
What you and your family will get it great adventure and meet great people both staff and other families.
We went to the ardeche last year and the Dordogne this year they are both fantastic holidays for a fantastic price.

We have used Acorn for a number of years now and we have always found them to be most helpful even with lastminutedotcom requests. Kim who we deal with is always pleasant and I treat her more as a friend rather than a person I have business dealings with.

Avoid. Accommodation in brochures looks better that the real thing. Tents look tiered and worn, ripped zips and holes in canvas.
Not clipped down properly either, so wind comes in!!!
I would've had a better night sleep in a crack den and that is no exaggeration.

Don't even get me started on the food portions either they were tiny.

Tents were ok and a beautiful setting. Pupils enjoyed the activities. However, food was very poor (we had to go and buy them a decent breakfast and ordered takeaway pizzas in the evening) and washing facilities could be better. Lack of knowledge about excursions. Website makes it look better than it is. Issues with the drunken behaviour of the other group on site. Used syringe and broken beer glass found on site. If you re thinking of using this company, I d recommend an inspection visit. Very sad that this was my last trip in my long career. I hope the company can make some improvements as the setting is lovely and conveniently close to ferry ports.
